DWTS 12 – ABC Releases Another New Commercial For Dancing With The Stars

The other day we updated you on a new ABC ’39 second’ teaser for the new Season. Well, now ABC has released a ‘1 minute 34 second’ commercial with the full cast. The ending is hilarious. Watch this to see what I mean. This has to be one of the best commercials they’ve ever had. What do you think?

DWTS Season 12 – Karina Smirnoff “It Could Be Anyone’s Game”

TV Squad recently interviewed Karina about Ralph and her past partners, controversies surrounding the show, sizing up the competition this year, and more. Here are a few takes below. Full interview at the link. She’s right about how it’s anyone’s game this year! Monday is coming right up, Everyone! πŸ™‚

How did you feel when you found out your celebrity partner this season was Ralph Macchio?
I thought: I’m with Ralph Macchio, the ‘Karate Kid’ and Johnny Cade of ‘The Outsiders.’ I love this guy!

Does he seem to have some dancing talent? He does. He has natural rhythm. Granted we have been working really, really hard just because this show is all about: what you put in is what you’re going to get out of it. He wants to do really well so I couldn’t be happier.

Do you think you two have a chance of winning this year? You know, we are going to work our butts off to make sure we do the best that we can. At the end of the day I do want to win, and I know Ralph wants to win. We can’t just say, “Oh, we’re here to win it — all we want is the Mirror Ball trophy,” because then you forget to enjoy the actual process of the show. And it is great to interact with the celebs and the dancers. You come up with choreography, character, costumes. If you’re on this highway only to get the Mirror Ball trophy, it almost takes away all the pleasure and fun that the competition has to offer.

Can you size up your competition this year yet? Do you get a chance to see everyone dance, and who do you think might be your toughest competition this season?
You know, ‘DWTS’ is a competition of popularity, personality and dance ability, so it might not take the best dancer to win the whole show or it might be the best dancer. It depends on the popularity and the personality level as well. If the people do want to watch the journey — they want to experience the journey of the celebrity starting with no dance experience and going through all the ups and downs and learning the dances. If there is no personality it’s a little boring to watch. This season we have very colorful personalities from Kirstie Alley to Wendy Williams to Lil Romeo. We have huge popularity based celebs from WWE (Chris Jericho) and from the NFL (Hines Ward) … it’s could be anyone’s game.

Dancing With The Stars 12 – Maksim Chmerkovskiy says, “It’s very hard to tame the Kirstie Alley in Kirstie Alley”

Maks has a new blog up on TV Guide. He’s excited on the show starting on Monday like we are. He says Kirstie has “improved by leaps and bounds”. He talks about her transformation and their first dance. More below, but, be sure to read the link in full as he talks about having a new jewelry line as well his dog Sleep. Go Maks and I can’t wait to see Kirstie!! I want a Maks bracelet too! πŸ™‚

We have so much fun in rehearsals that sometimes it’s hard to believe we get any work done. But we do! We joke and laugh all the time, but at the same time, she’s very determined and I’m very determined, so we know how to focus and get to work. There hasn’t been any “drama.” I think she cries every night when she gets home and has to ice everything, but everyone does that! She’s embracing it so well. She wants every moment we have in the studio. She’s into everything: thinking about ideas, what songs we could dance to, costumes. I love her participation.

Our cha-cha is just going to be a straight-out cha-cha. Nothing fancy or out there. It’s very hard to tame the Kirstie Alley in Kirstie Alley, but she’s so responsible with the choreography. I had to tell her to enjoy it so she doesn’t over-think it.

I want to help Kirstie prove everything to herself and to others. I don’t think people dismiss us per se, but no one knows what to expect from her. She has a huge following and people who look up to her, but even her supporters really don’t know what to expect. That’s the fun part. No one knows yet except for production. She’s funny, but what will she dance like? She’s in a category of her own. She does not fit into any category of the previous celebrities we’ve had on. We’re going to come out and do our thing on Monday. My goal is for her to stand out in this very able cast β€” we have a great bunch, from young people who are going to be great, athletes and a lot of personalities. I just want Kirstie to stand out and create her own spotlight. I’m not saying she’s a dark horse because no one can predict these things. I haven’t seen one poll or predictions piece this season β€” not that I’m not interested, but I just haven’t. But you never know who could surprise in a good or bad way. I just know that from my past experience, it isn’t about the polls and predictions because they don’t really come true.

Also, don’t miss a fun new radio interview with Maks as well on the Billy Bush Show >>>>HERE. (I hope it works. I had trouble getting it to work.)

Pure Dancing With The Stars – Mark Ballas’ Aims And Predictions For Season 12 & More

Mark Ballas is back writing a blog for USA Today on his Dancing With The Stars adventures. He catches us up with what happened in the off season with his music. Then he explains what has happened since he found out Chelsea Kane was his partner. He also gives his thoughts on who he thinks will do well this Season (interesting that one pick was Petra and Dimitry. I’d love that to happen). More below. Be sure to read more at the link.

At the end of February, we met our partners and I was thrilled when I found I’d be partnered with Chelsea Kane. She works really hard, is full of energy, has a sense of rhythm and is absolutely lovely. Chelsea’s been so much fun to spend time with β€” it’s impossible to be in a bad mood around her! We get along great, although, I do annoy her by constantly sending her photos of this DJ I’ve become obsessed with, Deadmau5. He wears gigantic neon mouse heads, which I find hilarious.

When Chelsea found out I was shooting a music video for Hotwire a few weeks ago, she offered to be in it. We had a blast filming especially since Chels just goes with the flow. The video will be released in a few weeks and I’m super excited about it.

Back to dancing β€” I’m looking forward to wowing the judges and the fans this season with her β€” I think we make a great team. The Foxtrot is our first dance and we’ve been working to perfect it these past two weeks.

I haven’t spent a lot of time around the other couples yet, but as soon as the show starts, we’ll be hanging out a lot. Some of the teams that I think will do well this season are Hines and Kym (the footballers always do well), Chris and Cheryl (the only other multi-champ on the show), Romeo and Chelsie (he can move and has to avenge his father), and Petra and Dmitry (welcome back D!).

Here’s what I’m aiming for this season: having fun, entertaining everyone, and making a run at my third Mirrorball Trophy.
