DWTS Season 12, Week 6 – No Rest For The Weary (Videos)
Usually, our dancing couples party after the Results show. Well, this wasn’t the case last night. Right after the show, the remaining couples went straight to rehearsals to practice their team dances. They didn’t finish until after midnight. PopTvDotCom caught them arriving and leaving rehearsals. Corky Ballas and Joey McIntyre are also interviewed in the second video.
Maks you RULE! Way to smack down the pap for asking about Karina’s Playboy spread! Oh, that made my day!
Thanks for the vids, Vogue!!
Thanks Evaine!xx I loved the parts with Maks and Kirstie too. Priceless as always. π
Maks and Kirstie are so sweet together! And even when telling off the pap he’s classy π What a stupid question…I highly doubt Maks gives a s#!t about anything Karina does…
“Hey Romeo! What does your dad say about DWTS?”
“He says ‘uugggghhhh’!”
LOL…classic. And what’s up with the pap that wants to know what everyone ate for dinner? Karina drives a Maserati and the engine sounds bea-u-tiful. Soooo done hearing about Pia.
I really liked how Maks answered to papz’ question. On that note- Karina must have really really hurt Maks because it seems like he’s still not over it. He’s been able to maintain good friendship w/ Elena after their breakup, not so much w/ Karina.
@Maddy – Do you think that maybe, just maybe, Maks is just sick of being asked about it? It may have absolutely nothing to do with he & Karina, and who hurt who. I know I’d be insulted if the paps would rather ask about another pro’s Playboy spread than ask me how I’m doing or how things are going with my partner…especially if they had the nerve to ask it after I had been working for 16 hours straight. He deflected nicely, yes, but I don’t think you can automatically assume it’s because Karina “really really hurt him”.
I liked Maks’ response, too.
I’m certainly not privvy to any info. on who hurt who or if Maks is still not over it, or whatever. But my sense is that Maks and Karina have an icy relationship now and never even speak to each other. (Anybody know more about this?)
My point isn’t to be nosey and rude, but I’m wondering about the team dances. If there are a lot of hard feelings about it, does that mean there would be no way they’d be on the same team? I don’t remember if this has ever come up in previous seasons…
First and foremost, both Maks and Karina are professionals and whatever has happened, I can’t see either of them letting affect their work. I mean, hell, they danced together on the Emmys a couple of weeks after the break-up and if they got through that, they can get through anything, you know?
I think it’s pretty immature to assume that Maks isn’t over Karina based on the way he answered a pap questions – especially since paps ask stupid ass questions on a regular basis and I think it requires A LOT of restraint to not treat them like the idiots they clearly are.
@Evaine: To start, just to repeat, yes, I have no inside information about it. But I remember that Emmy performance, I read Maks’ twitter and think I remember his scathing, hurt tweets back then, and on a couple of occasions since then. NEVER being so rude as to mention Karina by name, but it’s not rocket science to read between the lines of some of those tweets.
Secondly, I do have a bone to pick with your statement about them being professional and not letting it interfere with their work. Maks’ behaved very poorly to Aaron Carter when he partnered Karina. Maks’ comments about Aaron in his show blogs were pretty rude and personal. (I think that was their first season together since the breakup, so I guess he was still pretty raw back then.) I don’t say any of this unsympathetically to Maks, but I am interested in how it affects the dynamics of the show behind the scenes.
Thus, that’s my sense. I mean, has he ever even had anything nice to say about any of Karina’s partners since then? I remember his strong disdain for The Situation, too, again from his blogging. If anyone knows more info. I”d love to be corrected if I’m completely off base…
It wasn’t a pretty break-up, no. But it’s in the past. Any disdain that Maks had for The Situation, I believe, was long-standing. I’d heard/read of his opinion of the whole Jersey Shore farce long before The Situation appeared on the show. I don’t believe he agrees with the way his home town and the people who live there is portrayed. As for Ralph, this season, what I’ve heard him say has been nothing but positive, so…
I believe they’re able to work together, putting their work first. And you know… there’s no way that TPTB would put BOTH of the old-timers on the same team. π
Tom, Maks was rude to EVERYONE at one time or another in his blogs. He was often ugly to other competitors, IMO, and it wasn’t limited to Aaron. But let’s say he was rude to Aaron based on Karina – that was EONS ago and right after everything happened. Not every snippy thing he says for the rest of his life that is in some way connected to Karina means he’s not over her – in this case, it’s much more likely that the pap was asking a stupid question.
Asking a stupid question with the intent to get an emotional and unflattering to Maks reaction. That’s how the paps work.
Heidi, I have no argument with your post except that your last point about Maks’ response to the pap is misdirected at me. I think it’s a stupid question, too, the first thing I wrote is that I liked Maks’ response. HOWEVER, my sense is (from various things like his tweets) that it’s a bad relationship between him and Karina. I have no solid proof, but I’d be interested in knowing more. I have no horse I’m betting on re. this issue, either. If it’s tense between them and that affects the show behind the scenes, then I’d like to know. If they’re fine and in fact we see them on the same team this week and the video package shows them in rehearsal getting along famously, then I’ll be happy to see that, too.
Seems like everyone was also getting a bit irked with all the Pia questions, too. I’m leaning more towards Maks just being annoyed with a pap asking a dumb question, rather than any sort of residual hurt over Karina.
Maks may not be speaking for everyone, but I think there’s a sentiment that using DWTS as the vehicle to get a cover shoot is unsettling . Consider if it was a Policeman being asked about a female cop posing. It’s even more difficult for legimate professional dancers to separate themselves from soft porn because of the sexual nature of dancing. Add to the mix an ex-fiancee and it’s just not a good thing to ask the guy.
