DWTS Season 13 – More Things that Make You Go Hmmmm….
I stumbled across this on twitter and had to put it into Google Translator to be sure what it was saying:

It does say that Jenni Rivera was invited to compete on DWTS. The only question is – the US version? Jenni is Mexican-American and has sold more than 20 million records worldwide, but I don’t know how well known she is here in the US. I also looked to see if maybe one of the international versions of DWTS is going to be running at the same time and maybe that is what she was invited to do, similar to Pam Anderson on the South American version of the show. But, I confess, I did not have a lot of luck figuring anything out and I’m rather short on time. So, I’m throwing it to our readers. Are YOU familiar with Jenni? Are any of our south american readers (and I know we have a couple) aware of another version of the show she might be doing??

P.S. Queen Latifah’s reps say she’s NOT going to be on DWTS, per US Magazine. I sense a tabloid war in the making: TMZ sets them up and everyone else shoots them down. This is kinda fun – maybe TMZ did get punked (or their old source just got busted). 🙂
Squashing multiple internet reports, a rep for the 41-year-old tells Us Weekly exclusively that “Queen Latifah will not appear on Dancing With the Stars.”
An insider adds that “there were never any talks” between the network and the Just Wright actress, though Queen Latifah “likes the show.”
In July, several sources confirmed to Us that Jersey Shore‘s Snooki, 23, E! reality star Rob Kardashian, 24, and singer Christina Milian, 29, were in discussions to join the show.
Very interesting. Maybe Carlos will know more on Jenni!
And LOL to the tabloid wars. I’m not sure what to believe and what not to believe anymore? That would be funny if TMZ’s source got busted.

Yeah, I’m with Sandy – I was looking forward to seeing Queen Latifah and Tiffani on DWTS. In addition to being a big star, QL is really funny. Would have made for great rehearsal footage!
Pretty bummed out that we r losing Queen Latifah but hopefully someday she does the show. As for this Jenni Rivera rumor: I’m cool w it. She would be the Giles Marini this season (the foreigner looking to hit it big in America while being slightly famous before the show). Not gonna lie though they really need to offer a spot to a WWE person again. I love when they do the show 🙂 (preferably Maria, Trish Stratus, or (and I know this is a long shot) Shawn Michaels…..long story short I have been wqtachinf WWE since I was ak id because of Shawn Michaels and Triple H and since Triple H has a storyline on WWE going right now I think its time they give Mr. Michaels a call).

Well, about Jenni Rivera, I have to confess never heard about her…
Here in Brazil we speak portuguese and different from the rest of Latin America, spanish-language singers don’t have much input here… except for a few exceptions as Shakira and Ricky Martin on 90’s and mexican band RBD on 2000’s… nowadays, for example, Shakira songs plays on radio just in english…
So some spanish-language singers can be a huge success in all Latin America except in Brazil and brazilian singers vice-versa… but there are a few exceptions… specially when they sing in portuguese or our singers translate the songs to spanish… =]
As for Latifah, big shame… I’d love to see her on DwtS…
I heard of her before. She’s really popular in Mexico! There’s a show called “Mira Quien Baila” (Look Who’s Dancing) It comes on iin Univision. It’s VERY similar to DWTS, but some things are different. Maybe she’ll be on that show, who knows. She’s very controversial, I will say that.
My 2 cents…. I had never heard of Cristian de la Fuente until he competed on DWTS. So this might be credible.

Hehe…maybe it’s just my affinity for revenge kicking in, but I would laugh my ass off if it turned out that TMZ’s “insider source” at DWTS was intentionally feeding them the wrong names as payback for leaking the cast the past 3 seasons 🙂
That said – I wouldn’t assume source (TMZ or otherwise) is 100% correct at this point. We’re just reporting on what we hear across the net – and everyone is contradicting each other. For all we know, it could be TPTB feeding conflicting info to multiple sources in an attempt to keep everyone guessing. If they are – touché to them. 🙂
Well, I doubt anyone is totally believing anyone 100 % – that would be foolish. I also wonder if TMZs source thought they had it right but were being played by the producer…and have now lost their job. A game of find the mole as it were. Mainly because tmz had it so correct (100%) they had to be told by someone working for the show – there is no revenge factor there that I can see. More a case of the execs finding out who was leaking.
All that said, I’m going to wait and see – it’s just as early to call a source full of crap as it is to call them 100% correct.
Courtney that possibility could be correct. Reality Steve always gets is right, every detail, and then all of a sudden hes wrong. Someone fed him the wrong information one season to make him look bad. So this could the scenario this year.
The DWTS cast is usually diversfied with different entertainment and sport celebrities. So I do think we are in for some surprises that we are unaware of.
Just please, please, NO political contenders EVER again.
I don’t think Reality Steve has ever looked bad – his source is impeccable and he gets the entire season in detail before the show starts airing. The only thing he’s gotten wrong is the finale, twice. That’s a pretty amazing track record. Better than anything TMZ has, for sure.
I would think the producers of both shows would be more interested in figuring out who the leak is, than punishing tabloids – *someone* is telling them. Punishing tabloids is kinda like screaming at the waiter for your food being improperly cooked – yo, the chef is doing the cooking, you’re just shooting the messenger.
