Footage Of Dancing With The Stars Cast Leaving Late Night Team Rehearsals (Videos)

PopTvDotCom (who have a great reputation of being nice and loved by fans, cast, and pros alike. Be sure you are following them at You Tube), has some great footage of the couples leaving Team rehearsals last night. They are all pumped and said they have good teams (More on this later with Courtney! ๐Ÿ˜‰ ). They have some great things to say about Gladys as well.

They caught Gladys and Tristan after the show as well. Gladys has a message for her fans.

Gladys Knight Leaving Dancing With The Stars, But, Not Without Leaving Some Magic (Elimination Media)

“I adored watching Gladys this season and think her pairing with Tristan was magic. He knew exactly how to present her each week, always with loads of respect and just the right amount of sauciness.” ~Cidra

And so we say good-bye to the beautiful and legendary Gladys Knight and her sweet Irish partner Tristan MacManus on Dancing With The Stars!! We all knew we were in for something very special when Gladys agreed to do the show, didn’t we?! I don’t think I’ll ever forget our reactions upon hearing she was going to dance. I think what I loved the most about having Gladys on Dancing With The Stars is seeing that radiating and unique “soul” and “heart of gold” and how “down to earth” she was in a more personal way. It’s no wonder why she is called the “Empress of Soul”. What’s more, I feel like she’s stamped a little piece of herself magically on all of us showing us that in a deeper way. So, thank you Gladys and thanks to Tristan as well for helping her to bring that “Empress of Soul” into her dancing now too.

So, let’s get to some interviews after the elimination from Jimmy Kimmel, On The Red Carpet, and Entertainment Tonight. We’ll try and get their Good Morning America interview up as soon as possible (if there is one?).

Their Good Morning America is now up at ABC. You can veiw it here. Love the bit about BUBBA and how it was Tristan’s idea to call him in for the package. Thanks to @TristanMacManusFans at twitter for the heads up!!

SPOILERS!!! DWTS 14, Week 6 – Who Got the Boot???

Court here, subbing in for Heidi, who is boozin’ it up in the mountains or something.ย  ๐Ÿ˜› I wonder if drinking at a higher altitude gives you more of a buzz…

…well, now that I’ve wasted enough space so as not to catch the ire of some of the Twitter folks who haven’t watched the show yet, I can say that it ended up being Gladys & Roshon in the dance duel, with Roshon being saved by the judges and Gladys sent home.ย  And despite the fishiness of having 4 couples in jeopardy, there was no double elimination, as was previously rumored.

So how did our predictions stack up?

Heidi: Assumed there would be a single elimination, with Maria & Roshon in the bottom 2ย and Roshon getting saved after the duel.ย  Also thought there might be a chance that it would be Melissa & Roshon in the bottom 2, with Roshon still getting saved.

Courtney: Assumed there would be a double elimination, and predicted Gladys to go home outright, with Roshon & Maria duking it out in the jive duel with Maria ultimately getting saved.ย  Thought there was a minute chance of Melissa landing in the duel with Roshon, in which case Roshon would be saved.

I’ve gotta say – even though I think Gladys was probably the weakest dancer still left in the competition and it was her time to go, I feel so bad that they made her do the damn jive duel…that was just cruel.ย  But she impressed the hell out of me with the effort she gave – it was a much closer duel than I expected.ย  But overall, I’m glad Roshon is safe for another week – even though it scares the crap outta me that he still landed in the bottom 2, with all of the outrage I saw here at Pure and on Twitter over how truly SCREWED he got by the judges this week.

So we didn’t get a double elim after all.ย  Part of me is relieved, as it probably saved us from losing Roshon and possibly Maria or Melissa; but part of me is also a bit worried for next week, as it’s the team dances, and one team is going to end up with 4 couples while the other ends up with 3.ย  The last time that happened was season 9, and the team with more couples came into the team dance at a big disadvantage and basically got trounced by the team thatย only had 3 couples.ย  More couples = more need for synchronization = less room for error = more egos.ย  And yet another tricky little way for TPTB to give the edge to some while shafting others.ย  Heidi, where are you? Bring us booze.ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

DWTS Season 14, Week 6 – Dancing by the Numbers

Boy, what a crap ass night. And yet, extremely predictable. I have to wonder if Katherine just isn’t getting the votes because she was the biggest example of over scoring last night, by far. Unless you like Vanilla Sambas. I restrict my vanilla to COFFEE, thank you. ๐Ÿ™‚ William was too, but he actually got critiqued. Mark and Maks go back to their old ways…Donald and Roshon are, once again, under scored for the benefit of the favored children…it was an all around disappointing night.

I have to laugh at anyone who believes that Derek is favored – judges kinda made a fool of you, didn’t they. LOL. Yep, Maria is in trouble tonight. I think she might pull it out, but she is the least well known of the non-judge’s pets of this season. Weellll…

Let’s look at the couples and their percentages of the total:

The Judges Scores and Percentages

Place Celebrity Score Percentage
1. Katherine 39 15.12
2. Jaleel 37 14.34
3. William 36 13.95
4. Donald 34 13.18
5. Maria 30 11.63
5. Melissa 30 11.63
7. Roshon 28 10.85
8. Gladys 24 9.30

Gladys is, once again, at the bottom of the leader board. The question isโ€ฆ.does she have the juice to pull it out tonight?ย  Last week, Gavin and Melissa were both below her in scores, but Gavin and Jaleel were in the bottom two. Melissa only needed 4,500 (chump change) votes to pull ahead of Gladys and 13,400 to pull ahead of Jaleel. Gladys only needed 8,900 votes per million votes cast last week for Jaleel to then fall into the bottom two – this week itโ€™s a lot more and she doesnโ€™t have the protection of Melissa and Gavin being below her. What has to happen for Gladys to stick for another week?? She has to stay out of the bottom two for one thing. For that to happen, she needs TWO of the following things:

–ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Gladys needs to get 15,500 more votes per million votes cast than Roshon, OR;

–ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Gladys needs to get 23,260 more votes per million votes cast than either Melissa or Maria, OR;

–ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Gladys needs to get 38,760 more votes per million votes cast than Donald, OR;

–ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Gladys needs to get 46,520 more votes per million votes cast then William, OR;

–ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Gladys needs to get 50,400 more votes per million votes cast than Jaleel, OR;

–ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Gladys needs to get 58,150 more votes per million votes cast than Katherine.

Clearly, Katherine is going nowhere. Again I wonder if sheโ€™s not getting the votes because sheโ€™s not that much better than Donald. ย Now, Gladys can get past Roshon (and this is likely why we have the dance duel, cuz I think it would be easy), but whether she can get past Maria and Melissa is a mystery that will be solved tonight. They have insulated Jaleel, our other bottom two dweller, pretty well.ย  Will he end up in the bottom two again? Read on.

Roshon is next on our list โ€“ and on a night when I thought he danced better than William and Katherine both. Roshon has been in the bottom twoโ€ฆand on judges scores alone, heโ€™s in the bottom two again. But is he when it comes to the combined total?? Based on the judges scores, and assuming that Gladys gets the votes she needs, Roshon needs TWO of the following in order to be safe:

–ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Roshon needs to get 7,760 more votes per million votes cast than either Melissa or Maria, OR;

–ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Roshon needs to get 23,260 more votes per million votes cast than Donald, OR;

–ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Roshon needs to get 31,010 more votes per million votes cast then William, OR;

–ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Roshon needs to get 34,890 more votes per million votes cast than Jaleel, OR;

–ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Roshon needs to get 42,650 more votes per million votes cast than Katherine.

Gotta say, Iโ€™m not really sure whatโ€™s going to happen here. Roshon has fallen into the bottom two before, when tied with Maria and four points ahead of Melissa. Now, heโ€™s a couple points below both of them. So, have the Roshon fans mustered enough votes to make up a defict where there wasnโ€™t one before?? I kinda doubt it, but you never know. Roshon got hosed so his fans might have really gotten it together. Read more..

Louis Van Amstel And Tristan MacManus Write On DWTS14 Week 6, ET Interview

In Part 2 of our media postings today, Louis Van Amstel reviews the night at ABC. He thought William ‘should have been out earlier and Donald should have stayed longer’ in the Marathon Dance. Louis would have given it to Katherine or Donald. Below are some of his thoughts on the individual dances. See if you don’t agree and be sure to read more at the link. I think Louis pretty much pegs it again and puts it all into words I couldn’t find. Don’t forget that Louis will be dancing again tonight in a Pro number.

Maria Menounos and Derek Houghโ€™s Foxtrot. Thatโ€™s a fast foxtrot. Maria did a great job. Itโ€™s a shame about the little mishap on the stairs. Great frame, very good posture and as a couple they moved nicely and smoothly across the floor. I do feel Maria is quite stiff and needs to loosen up if she wants to go to the finals. In the hold, Maria is solid, but when Derek lets her go she looks pretty tight and insecure. I agree with Lenโ€™s first part โ€œIn hold,โ€ but โ€œNOT in hold.โ€ It wasnโ€™t as great. As a matter of fact, thatโ€™s where Maria lost her footing. I agree with Carrie Annโ€™s score โ€“ three โ€œ8โ€ฒsโ€ in my book.

Roshon Fagan and Chelsie Hightowerโ€™s Rumba. This was a very solid performance by Roshon. He looked very comfortable in this routine, awesome arm lines. The momentum in one of the turns caused a very slight lift. Roshon attacked this Rumba a little hard sometimes which sacrificed some of the tenderness and sensuality that is so important for the Rumba. It was very age appropriate though. Carrie Ann, wow, now youโ€™re going to be the lift police after so many other competitors did lifts before and you didnโ€™t mention anything. Even though the judges had a weird way of criticizing Roshon, I do agree with them. The judges could have been a little less aggressive about it. The scores are low-ish. Iโ€™d say the scores should have been the same as Maria, three โ€œ8โ€ฒs.โ€ (In my opinion, Maria should have gotten three โ€œ8โ€ฒs.โ€)

Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballasโ€™ Samba. This was another beautiful performance by Katherine. She just doesnโ€™t have a bad movement in her body. There were a lot of great technical elements in that routine, with a good, solid bounce. Iโ€™m going to be a little more critical of Katherine right now (In my opinion, in comparison, sheโ€™s already better than anyone else). Katherine can finish her legs off better when closing her feet and when doing a Latin dance she should express it differently from her ballroom dances. Everything is always โ€œpretty.โ€ I sometimes want to see the differences โ€” sultry, hot, rough, sweet, bitchy, sensitive. She can show more variety. I like what Carrie Ann said, although I would have liked to see a bit more โ€˜In your faceโ€™. A little over-scored. Three โ€œ9โ€ฒs,โ€ in my opinion, but since Maria got such high scores two โ€œ10sโ€ are deserved in comparison.

Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroydโ€™s Foxtrot. Is Donald really a football player? Heโ€™s not a dancer? Donald totally impressed me again tonight with his dance. It had great Foxtrot content. He had a great frame and letโ€™s not even get started on Donaldโ€™s charisma. It was strong when it needed to be and soft when the time was right. Awesome job, especially knowing heโ€™s not a performer, dancer, singer, actor at all โ€” and yet he does it all with ease. And another great costume! I totally agree with Bruno. That was cute, Len! I agree with Len that Donald can do more. Get your freestyle music! Well deserved scores. If they would have given one โ€œ10,โ€ I would have agreed.

ET interviewed the couples on their dances. Gladys is happy. Roshon is a little down (can’t say as I blame him!). Melissa wasn’t happy with her and Maks’ package. Lots more below. It’s so good to see Steve Jones of the X Factor again.

Lastly, Tristan has a great new blog up at Entertainment Weekly explaining he and Gladys’ dances. Here is a little excerpt. See if you don’t agree with some of the things he said too about the judges?

On the โ€œMy Girlโ€ rumba: We were hoping for a faster dance but the rumbaโ€™s what we got. We got a great song, and we got to dance to the Temptations. I was annoyed by some of the comments the judges made. They put me in a fierce bad mood afterwards. What Bruno said about wanting a more steamy dance โ€” I thought that was stupid. It wasnโ€™t about being steamy and hot, and no one wants to see me steamy with Gladys.

I donโ€™t think it was appropriate. They said, well maybe youโ€™re not the best dancer, and things needed to be more steamy. Being steamy doesnโ€™t make anyone a better dance either, does it? Thatโ€™s just a gimmick. I think a lot of it is about performance. Thatโ€™s what really annoyed me. It was a tribute to Motown and thatโ€™s what we did. So the way we took the rumba was that the passionate side and the love that youโ€™re supposed to portray in rumba, that was directed towards Motown. It should have been marked on the dance and not marked on flamboyance.

Chelsie and Roshon were underscored immensely for what theyโ€™d done. I thought they were great, know what I mean? There just needs to be consistency somewhere and there definitely needs to be a bit of common sense in places as well. So as much as people are saying about Len, heโ€™s this and heโ€™s that โ€” he knew that the appropriateness of what should have happened tonight, and Bruno and Carrie Ann should have known that as well.

On that purple suit: The funny thing was, I wanted to try to put Gladys in as many colors as possible, and she really liked purple. The Temps wore purple all the time. So thatโ€™s how I stole that costume. If you put in โ€œThe Temptations My Girlโ€ it goes to the song on YouTube [embedded below] โ€” you can see even from the movie that they have purple suits. The whole look itself was, again, part of the tribute. My look was David Ruffinโ€™s, the lead singer on this song. That was the look that he had, they were his glasses and stuff.

Ok, that is all for now. Here’s to tonight’s results. I’m curious to see if two of the contestants will be eliminated? I hope not. Also, stay tuned to Heidi’s Numbers post coming up a little later with her predictions which are always fascinating and entertaining as well!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

PureDWTS14 Week 6 Media After The Dance, Some Dances For Classical Week Revealed

Let’s get right to the On The Red Carpet interviews with George Pennacchio and see how the couples felt about their dances and the night. Let’s also see if George finds out anything about next week’s dances as well….

First up, Chelsie and Roshon! George tells them they has his favorite dance last night. They said no matter what, they had a good time. Roshon said he tried to do the best he could. For Classical Week, Chelsie wants to clean it up and really get Roshon moving if they make it. Roshon wants to keep it mixed up and entertaining.

Derek and Maria talk of how the Marathon dance messed up their scores. Maria took full responsibility. These two have the Paso Doble if they make it to Classical Week. They gave them a song for next week, but Derek said it’s “so not right” and wants another. For right now, he just wants to concentrate on the “Dance Duel” for tonight if they have to do it. He wants to be sure they are loaded and have the bullets ready to go.

Gladys is so pleased with last night. She had the best time and she felt like they had a great dance. She doesn’t care about numbers. It’s not what is the most important thing. They are looking forward to the Dance Duel if they have to do it. They opened the show last night and they will close it tonight if they have to. If they make it for Classical week, they will do something “classic” and show another side.

Melissa “really enjoyed” herself last night and feels inspired to keep going. Maks would like to dance to 90’s R & B if he could choose a theme, but, he loved Motown Week. They talk of how the show is determined to make him the bad guy. Maks won’t reveal anything for classical week if they make it.

DWTS 14 Week 6 Power Rankings

Tonight is one of those nights where it physically HURTS to rank. Literally, I’ve got a headache, I’m tired, kinda cranky, and overall? Kinda sad…I may have ranted and raved on Twitter, but when it comes down to it, I care about this show, and to see it become such a 3-ring circus of blatant favoritism, calculated scoring, and machinations by the judges and folks in charge? I’m just really disappointed.

And unfortunately, I think the judges may have all but sealed the fate of at least one of the couples – and if there’s a double elimination like we’ve been hearing (and I’m pretty sure there will be – they’ve gotta whittle down to an even number of couples for the team dances next week), I’m fairly certain that we’re going to lose at least one really talented couple that doesn’t deserve to get sent home yet. And if by some miracle I’m wrong – then we’re probably still going to lose two big fan favorites. It sucks whatever way you cut it, I’m afraid. ๐Ÿ™

ETA: Yes, I know now that I added wrong, and Maria & Derek are tied with 30 points. Doesn’t change my rankings, but I acknowledge the error…too bad I’m too tired & the site is being too moody for me to fix it ๐Ÿ™‚

1.) Katherine & Mark – Let me start off by saying this: I don’t think Katherine’s a bad dancer. Technically, she’s quite good…lacks a bit in showmanship sometimes, I’m afraid, but she’s a good dancer and I do think she deserves to stick around. But WHY oh WHYYYYY did they insist on overscoring her so blatantly??? Her samba was cute and fun, and she never got off time or misstepped…but I also never really got the impression that she was 100% in the dance, and for the first time since week 1, I actually saw the “deer in the head lights” look in her eyes again, like she was constantly teetering on the brink of messing up. It actually reminded me a lot of Chelsea’s quickstep at this time last year – technically sound, and probably 70% there in terms of showmanship, but somehow a bit…cautious. Apprehensive. Safe. Mundane. Vanilla. Take your pick…all were terms I saw being tossed around on Twitter in reference to her samba, and I have to agree. I think our reader Will actually best summed it up: “It sorta made me think of a lovely, middle class, white couple trying to ‘get down & funky’.” It wasn’t bad, and it was a valiant effort – but it was a tad awkward. I would have thought more along the lines of a 26, definitely not a 29. As for the dance marathon – sorry, but I have to call complete bull on this one. I have nothing against Katherine, but the girl was barely moving out there – every time the camera panned to her, she seemed to stuttering a bit, and looking to Mark to tell her what exactly to do. IMO, the person that wins the marathon should be someone that is constantly dancing full-throttle, giving it 100%, and always moving…like Roshon. Not someone who can only eek out chunks and spurts of good dancing. My only theory for her almost-perfect score tonight? She’s just not getting the votes…and some of you can pooh-pooh me and call me a conspiracy theorist all you want, but I cannot in good conscience say that she cumulatively danced better than everyone else tonight, and deserved the scores she got. I think both of her other 29-scoring performances (her waltz and Argentine tango), were far superior to this samba. But apparently she needed shielding from the bottom two, and based on the spread I’m seeing, I think the judges succeeded in doing just that.

2.) Jaleel & Kym – Ok, I’ve gotta hand it to Jaleel – after a few kinda “off” weeks, I think he really redeemed himself this week – that cha-cha was high-energy, on-point, and entertaining. But 29-worthy??? Ai ai ai…these judges were trying to give me a coronary, I swear. It was the strongest performance of the night for me, but I don’t think I would have given it more than a 28, tops – still a little bit of wobbling & “happy feet” going on here and there, and I feel like he still kinda looks to Kym to give him a visual cue of what to do from time to time. As for the dance marathon – he & Kym seemed to be doing the same lift every time the camera panned to them, so based on that, I guess they did pretty good…but see, that’s the thing about the marathon that I absolutely HATE: the production staff is controlling what we get to see, so for all we know, Jaleel may have been killing it out there, while Katherine was just kicking it in the proverbial shins…but because the camera footage we saw was so limited, TPTB can claim plausible deniability, and say that Katherine was really the better dancer based on the entirety of her performance in the marathon. But of course, it’s an entirety we’ll never see, and we just have to trust that the judges made the right decision. Well I, for one, do not trust the judges ๐Ÿ™‚ But alas, I can’t really say for sure whether or not Jaleel did fantastic in the marathon – but he did look like he was having a good time, and I thought what he & Kym were doing was at least more inspired than what Willy Boy & Cheryl were doing. So where does that leave Jaleel this week? Likely far from the bottom 2 or 3, given the spread, and the likely boost in votes he’ll get from being in the bottom 2 last week.

3.) William & Cheryl – I’ve gotten to the point with these two where I don’t even want to say anything about them anymore, because I feel like I’m just repeating the same stuff over and over again, and there are still some Kool-Aid drinking wackos that refuse to believe any of it…but I do think I saw a glimmer of hope this week, because at least 2 of the judges seemed to be a bit more critical of these two this week. Yes, I will say that William had some pretty good hip action in his rumba – but once again, he barely moved out of place, and once again, Cheryl danced around him. Let me be clear: a dance where the man barely moves out of a 2-foot radius for the bulk of the dance is not something I can truly label as “good”. Yes, he was “there” for her, but beyond that, I don’t feel like he really did much. And I agree with Len – it got a little too raunchy. Hell, it’s been too raunchy for awhile now – I’m tired of the flash and trash and I want to see William truly DANCE. Want me to believe that he’s a legitmately good dancer who deserves such ridiculously high scores week after week? Then challenge Cheryl to not get all breathy in William’s face or rub herself all over him like a cat on a scratching post, and make her really TEACH him. As for the marathon? Pffft. Since when is sliding around on the floor with your shirt open “Motown”? Or even particularly creative? Once again…flash & trash. But he’s sufficiently shielded from the bottom 2 once again, so he lives to dance another week. But I daresay it won’t be a cakewalk to the finale for him…more on that later this week ๐Ÿ˜‰

4.) Donald & Peta – I doubt these two are in any big danger of going home this week (Donald’s just too damn lovable, and a good dancer!), but amidst all the “ado” surrounding Katherine, William, & Jaleel, I feel like Donald actually got a bit lost in the shuffle. His foxtrot was fun, clean, and entertaining, but maybe lacked a bit of the panache that made Katherine & Jaleel such standouts (and the fakey-fake hype that keeps William in the forefront). As for the marathon, I kinda had the same problem with Donald that I did with Jaleel – I just didn’t see much of him to judge on, and the parts I did see looked like the same sequence of steps repeated from his cha-cha. And I can’t really blame any of the pros for recycling choreo from their stars’ previous cha-chas…there was just too much going on this week, and there shouldn’t have been a marathon dance to begin with. So consequently, I think I was left just kinda content with Donald this week, rather than blown out of the water. Hope he gets a good dance next week, so he can slide back into the top spot…

5.) Melissa & Maks – I gotta say – Melissa actually really impressed me this week. This was the most relaxed I’ve ever seen her out on the floor, and as a result, I think her performance value & technique really improved. Very pretty, pleasant Viennese waltz. Did it blow me away? No, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. In the marathon? Once again, I’m limited by what they decided to show us, and while Melissa looked like she was having a lot of fun and really trying, I did catch a few moments where she & Maks looked like they were stalling for a second before busting their next move. As I said before, I like marathon dancers who are constantly moving, so based on that, I think these two should have gone out at least before Roshon, who I never saw stop moving. So where does that leave Melissa for tomorrow? Well she has yet to be in the bottom 2, while there are folks left who have been there before; and this week, she has a bit more of a points cushion than she’s had in previous weeks. While I do think she’ll be in the bottom 2 sooner rather than later (unless she suddenly starts getting 10’s), I think she’s safe this week, based on those below her.

6.) Maria & Derek – Like Donald & Peta, I think these two may have gotten a little lost in the shuffle this week, too, but unlike Donald & Peta, I’m a little nervous for these two. First off, I have to say – I think they got dealt a bit of a crap hand when they were the only couple that got Martha as their music. Now while I love Martha, I can’t lie – it was downright PAINFUL listening to her sing this week. Her voice is just not what it used to be, and she seemed to be really struggling tonight. Consequently, I actually think Maria & Derek could have been legitimately distracted when trying to dance to “Jimmy Mack” – hell, I know I was! At one point, when they were doing their choreography on the stairs and got a bit out of synch, it actually looked like Martha caught them off-guard…like they weren’t planning on her being that close, and consequently had to adjust their spacing to accomodate it. Aside from the minor synchronization snafu and just the overall poor quality of their music, I actually really liked their foxtrot – just a fun, pleasant walk in the park ๐Ÿ™‚ Now as for the marathon…hmmmm. I actually have to agree with them being tapped out 2nd – Maria looked like she was dancing pretty cautiously, and they seemed to be doing the same sequence of cha-cha steps in hold over and over again. I haven’t done a very good job of keeping up with Twitter or any of the interviews Vogue has posted in the past few days (*guilty face*) due to my ongoing internet issues, but I guess Maria is still injured/sick? Which I guess could explain why she was so tentative in the marathon dance. Can’t say I blame her, if that was the case. But here’s the pickle they’re in: they’re currently wedged between the lowest scorer (Gladys) and the only previous appearance in the bottom 2 that is likely to show up there again this week (Roshon), and there’s a possible double elim this week – so if they eliminate the lowest combined scorer and make the next two couples duel, I think there’s a decent chance they could end up in the duel…unless they manage to overtake Melissa & Maks, the next couple up from Roshon. And I think it’s possible they could overtake Melissa & Maks…but it will depend on whose fanbase is more passionate. Both Derek & Maks have power voters, and as a tv host, Maria might appeal to the same demographic as Melissa – it could be a pretty even match. But my gut tells me that Melissa is likely gonna edge Maria out this week, and Maria will (dramatically, of course!) fall into the duel…after one kinda off-week. But I think she’ll ultimately be safe…

7.) Roshon & Chelsie – Ok, I give up: what exactly do the judges have against Roshon??? This poor kid got raked across the coals tonight for a rumba that I didn’t think was all that bad – on the contrary, I actually was really impressed with both his hip action and the gorgeous way he extended his arms. By far the strongest rumba of the night, even if there were “too many syncopations” (sorry, but I can’t blame Chelsie for throwing a lot of them in – that song was sooooo slow and boring). Underscored by at least 2 points, IMO…he should have gotten an 8 from Carrie Ann and a 9 from Bruno, based on their comments. Now the marathon – ugh. This guy was movin’ & shakin’ and busting all sorts of Motown moves while other couples seemed to just kinda muddle through – yet he still is the 3rd person tapped out. What gives??? Were they docking him because they weren’t doing lifts? Psssh…the fact that the got tapped out so quickly just further illustrates for me that the judges want him gone. And lord knows why, because I do think this kid can legitimately dance. But alas, I think the scoring probably did Team Rochee in this week – while he did manage to get a greater margin of votes last week to stay out of the bottom 2, I think he was bolstered by his appearance in the bottom 2 in the previous week (and Jaleel’s missteps the previous few weeks…), and likely won’t have that same boost this week to keep him safe. However, he’s still got an okayish margin over Gladys, but I think she’s got a decent amount of voters behind her, so I can’t really state with confidence which one will go straight home and which will end up in the duel – and once again, that is only if there is a double elim tomorrow night, and it plays out similarly to the double elim in season 9. I’ve waffled back & forth since the show ended about 2 hours ago, but I ultimately think Roshon will end up in the duel – and if it’s against Maria, it could be pretty close on who gets saved…as in 2 judges for one couple and one dissenting judge. But I just get the feeling that the judges are kinda done with Roshon, so it will ultimately be the other couple (probably Maria) that gets the stay of execution while Roshon is sent packing. Sad face ๐Ÿ™

8.) Gladys & Tristan – Gladys was just so stinkin’ cute tonight ๐Ÿ™‚ She may not have had the strongest dance, and she may have forgotten a good chunk of her choreography…but she just looked like she was having so much fun, and was giving it an honest try. It was a very cute, very “Motown-appropriate” rumba – loved the little nods and “Pip skills” Tristan threw in. Marathon? Meh…I guess I can’t say I was too surprised she got tapped out first, as I think she’s the weakest dancer left in terms of physical limitations. Poor Gladys just can’t move at 67 the same way most of the other contestants move in their 20’s, 30’s, & 40’s – but man, she’s impressed the hell out of me, the way she’s come out every week and given each dancer her all, and done it with a smile. I think she’ll definitely be leaving on a high note, and will be a contestant I won’t soon forget ๐Ÿ™‚

*sigh* So waffling back & forth and some internet issues nothwithstanding, I think I’m going to lock my predicitions in as Gladys going straight home, and Roshon getting beat by Maria in the dance duel. But if it happens to be Melissa in the duel with Roshon? He may get a stay of execution. And if Roshon (and/or Gladys) manages to avoid the bottom 2 altogether? All bets are off ๐Ÿ˜› So what do you guys think?

Chelsie Hightower And Roshon Fegan Don’t Want To Say Good-bye On Dancing With The Stars

Chelsie and Roshon are always full of energy and fun. The two made this personal video while taking a break in rehearsals. Roshon writes a song while singing to vote for them on Dancing With The Stars and it’s not bad. Sweet!!

Here’s to Chelsie and Roshon and their Rumba tonight which Chelsie says is going well at facebook. I don’t want to see them say good-bye either!!
