Donald Driver Weighs In On Last Night’s Finale Dances On Dancing With The Stars
Last year’s champ Donald Driver was a guest on Good Morning America today. He reviews Monday night’s finale dances on Dancing With The Stars. He thinks Shawn Johnson stole the show. He also talks of Melissa and how she deserved her “30’s, but, he still thinks Shawn will win. He supports Shawn and Derek’s quickstep and the risk of doing it without any changes because it’s all about the fan votes at the end of the day. Donald also comments for how he would like to see Melissa win because it would be her first mirror ball.
“Still the champ” …Donald Driver. You can watch his interview in full at Good Morning America HERE.
It’s so good to see him and his big SMILE again!
Saw the interview this morning, and had to laugh.
If Donald was in the Super Bowl against a team that never won, would he want that team to win because it would be their first? I hardly think so! So why should DWTS be any different. Tired of the whining of the never won couple. Should we take pity on them and let them win? Would they be happy to win with the sympathy vote? In that case, there shouldn’t have been any returning champs – stars or pros. This is All Stars and no one has won an All Stars Season. It should be on merit – who had the greatest performances.
For me the only couple who pushed themselves to create new, never before seen dances, were Shawn and Derek. They didn’t recycle dances from Seasons 1 through 14. They brought the creativity and elevated the dancing. They made all the couples up their game in an effort to keep up with them. CAI said it after the Mambo. Everyone was scared of their technique, not just the tricks. The freestyles wouldn’t have been that unique if the other couples were wondering what Shawn and Derek were going to do!
The last line should read:
“The freestyles wouldn’t have been that unique if the other couples weren’t wondering what Shawn and Derek were going to do!”
I blame it on lack of sleep due to voting all night!
