DWTS Judge Len Goodman Grateful For His New Wife And Dancing Career

In his first interview since getting married, Dancing With The Stars and Strictly Come Dancing judge, Len Goodman, talks about his wedding to Sue Barrett. He’s still basking in the honeymoon period. Check it out below as well as how thankful he is for his dancing and judging career. He’s a happier Len!

They may have been together for 10 years, but Len is still basking in the honeymoon period. He talks like a teenager with his first crush as he describes his new wife.

“You don’t know Sue, she is the best girl in the world,” he beams.

“I swear to you, she is the kindest, most generous, thoughtful person.

“I tell you what, I am so lucky, she is just marvellous. I’m 68 – I know what’s what. I am telling you this girl Sue is brilliant.

“All my life I have been lucky. I was 21 and one of my mates used to go dancing. He told me to go because there were loads of girls. And I was lucky that I did – I’d never have gone ballroom dancing otherwise.

“I was lucky that I ended up dancing with the owner’s daughter and we got together and won competitions.

“I was 60 years-old running a little dance school, semi-retired and suddenly I get the call to go for an interview for Strictly Come Dancing.

“Loads of people went but fortunately I was the one they asked to do it.

“I was lucky to get Dancing With The Stars. They actually wanted Bruno not me.

They thought I was too old but they couldn’t find anyone else. I was like a last-minute replacement. But meeting Sue was the luckiest moment of all.”

He may be older than the other judges, but, his take and wanting to stick to traditional rules mixes up these shows even though sometimes I get really annoyed if he goes overboard and then I want him replaced. lol.

PureDWTS 2013 Karina Smirnoff, Derek Hough, Julianne Hough Dazzle At Golden Globes Instyle After Party

What do you think of these beautiful faces and what they wore? Dancing With The Stars Karina Smirnoff, Derek Hough, and his sister Julianne graced the Red Carpet at the Golden Globes InStyle After party last night. I’m not sure I’m liking Karina’s dress and the 1930’s look on her, but, she still looks amazing. Derek and Julianne look perfect. I love pink on Julianne. She definitely has a Spring fashion personality. Stunning! You can view lots more pics of them at Pure Derek Hough and Zimbio Pictures.

Ann Romney Had Several Meetings With Dancing With The Stars Producers To Dance

Sorry, Kids! It’s just not going to happen! 😯

Our sources say Ann and producers had several meetings to try to hash out the details, but Ann ultimately decided against it.

A rep for Romney tells TMZ, “Ann Romney was approached, but she declined. She will not be appearing on ‘Dancing with the Stars.'”

More at TMZ.

I have to say I’m not too broken up about this news, are you? However, like Heidi said in a previous posting, she would have been better than Sarah Palin.

DWTS Cheryl Burke, Brooke Burke Charvet Miss America Coverage (Question On Show, Photos)

Pictured above is Dancing With The Stars Cheryl Burke and co-host Brooke Burke Charvet. Last night, Cheryl helped to judge the 2013 Miss America Pageant at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas while Brooke co-hosted. Mallory Hagan (also pictured above) went on to be crowned the new Miss America. You can view more pics of the event today at Zimbio Pictures and Getty Images.

Did any of you see it? If so, what did you think? It was a great show. I was rooting for my hometown girl Miss Wyoming who ended up placing 3rd (a first for Wyoming and she did it with so much grace and elegance). Anyway, it was a great night of TV and it rekindled my love for Miss America. Brooke and Cheryl did an excellent job and seemed to put their whole hearts into it. I loved all of Brooke’s gowns too…stunning. My only complaint is that the show moved so fast. I wish they had taken one more hour to cover it with more personal stories on the contestants. Another idea is to cover it in two or three nights?

Derek Hough and Mark Ballas at the MMA Awards in Las Vegas

Last night Derek and Mark were in Las Vegas at the MMA Awards. Derek presented with Rhonda Rousey and I had read that Mark was presenting too, but I don’t have as much info on that portion of the evening.  Here are a couple pictures – they also ran into Lacey during the event.

I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)

ABC President Paul Lee Speaks About Dancing With The Stars At TV Critics Press Tour

The TV Critics Association Press Tour is taking place this week – today is Disney/ABC day. ABC President PauL Lee answered questions on Dancing With The Stars. Here’s what we’ve gathered at twitter….

1. Speaking on the All Stars, Lee said, “It turns out that people want to see bad dancing as much as they do good dancing.”” ( via TV Critic Chuck Barney)

2. At this time, ABC still plans on Spring and Fall airings of Dancing With The Stars. “There’s a lot of life left in the show” (via Diane Gordon and TV Guide).

When we know more, we’ll be sure to update this post.

Thanks to Miss Heidi for her help!! Here she is with more…

Heidi: Can I just say “Duh”?  😀 As someone else commented on twitter, they aren’t going to cut down on a show that is still scoring 16 million viewers in this day and age. No way.  TV Line has a bit more of the quote:

Falling under the “lot to do” part of that statement:

* The lackluster ratings for the all-star edition ofDancing With the Stars. “Turns out people want to see bad dancing as much as they want to see good dancing,” Lee deduced, later adding, “We still intend to keep it going twice a year. It’s still a big, broad crowd pleaser. We think there’s a lot of life left in it.”
