Jacoby Jones On Dancing With The Stars: “I’m in it for the ride”

Jacoby Jones chatted a little about Dancing With The Stars with ESPN. He talks of how much fun he’s having, how hard he and Karina have been working, and how he’s in it for the “ride” not the votes.

You and partner Karina Smirnoff have bubbled near the top of the rankings each week. How much fun are you having?

“It’s a lot more work than people think, but I’m having fun. You need a strong work ethic to do this show. I had no apprehensions because I would be working out every day anyway. That’s what I’d be doing if I wasn’t doing the show. In this case, I’m dancing every day and it’s a heck of a workout.”

Athletes have done so well on the show, and many NFL players — Emmitt Smith, Donald Driver and Hines Ward — all have won. Does that make it tougher?

“There is no pressure, man. I’m out there to have fun. All I’m doing is keeping up my fitness with my partner. I don’t really pay much attention to attracting votes. I’m in it for the ride. Of course I want to win, but I don’t think like that. I’m not looking at it like it’s stressful.”
