Anna Trebunskaya Talks Of Returning To Dancing With The Stars For Week 5
Hey Guys!!! Be sure to tune into the new Afterbuzz Dancing With The Stars After show when you get a chance. I haven’t listened to it in full yet, but, PureDWTS reader Jenn (THANKS JENN!!) reports to us that Anna Trebunskaya mentions how she and Maks will be dancing with Val and Zendaya in their individual dance as well as with Jacoby and Karina in theirs. She will also be dancing with Henry Byalikov in Kellie and Derek’s individual dance. Exciting!! Also, in this interview is Victor Ortiz talking about his time so far on Dancing With The Stars.
And while we are on the subject of Anna, who needs another dose of this? Let’s hope she’s back on the show again next season full time! If not, let’s hope producers will always make sure to feature her in dances like this. Just breathtaking!
Thanks to Jimmbboe’s You Tube Channel for the video above.
I also heard Maks will dance with Jacoby and Karina as well. Interesting.
Yes, that will be interesting. I’m sure everyone will be professional about it. Can’t wait to see Anna dance again! 🙂
I got such a kick out of Victor. He’s so “unfiltered” and exuberant. That’s very impressive in someone who’s been knocked around by life as much as he was growing up. He could be pretty guarded and mad at the world, but he’s decided not to be that way.
I really like Afterbuzz as you can see so much more of the guest pros’ and celebs’ personalities when they guest on the show. I like Victor even more after this interview! I hope he can improve each week, I would rather see DL and Sean leave before him at least.
I agree with you EPmusic, but unless Victor has a breakthrough performance with his VWaltz and/or the judges protect him, I see him in the bottom two again next week. He and Lindsay just aren’t connecting with the voters even though I find them a lot more charming than DL/Cheryl and Sean/Peta.
I usually love watching AfterBuzz, but I couldn’t get through the first 15 minutes this week. Victory did a lot of rambling and I had to stop. Not sure if I’m a fan of them as much after watching that.
I think he may have been exhausted and perhaps didn’t really know what the whole show is usually about. Maybe since he was asked to be on he thought he was supposed to be like how the celebs are when they’re being interviewed, you know, it’s all about them. Plus, I think he’s unpolished in general. He’s had such a rough life, where would he really have learned polish? Probably not in the boxing world. But he sure wants better for those he loves. When he was 18 years old he took legal custody of his younger brother and has worked to support him, maybe more of his siblings. His younger brother is in college right now. And they did move on to all the other dances soon after the 15 minute mark. I agree with Cidra, I like how unfiltered and exuberant he was/is. I also think his days on dwts are numbered. 🙁
You put that very well Jess. “Unpolished” is an excellent word to describe Victor (aside: some would consider Jacoby unpolished as well).
The show did go on to discuss the dances, and yes, Victor chimed in a lot (sometimes harkening back to the mess he made of the Paso). What I found charming is that his comments were always positive about all the celebs and pros and the dances they did.
I got the sense that he boxes because he’s good at it, and it provides him a living, not because he likes it. I hope he’s investing some of his winnings so that after he’s had a few more successful high-payout fights, he can retire and then do something that he enjoys.
I’m not even gonna lie I almost started crying when I saw Anna back in the ballroom!I’m so glad she’ll be back next week and I pray she’ll be on next season as a competing pro! That girl is too talented to be sidelined!
Anna does nothing for me.She is so unremarkable that I don’t even remember who her last celeb was! She is the female equivalent of Tony: nice but BORING! I definately hope they keep Sharna! I wish they would get rid of Peta, but because she is a MBT winner, I’m sure that won’t be happening.
Jess #7 Like you obviously did I had read all the background information on Victor and thought what a wonderful young man to have the life he did and then to legally adopt his younger brother when he turned 18. I agree with Cidra about the way you described him as being unpolished and if anyone reads his background story you would see he definitely did not come from the type of world where he would learn such things. I loved it when he said when he is ready to marry and have a family there will never be any boxing for his children. That alone told me what a hard life it had to have been for him.
I remember he was forced to box by his father and then his father left the family. His mother had already left and his dad turned to drinking after she left. When Victor’s father also abandoned the family five years after their mother left, Victor and his five siblings went into the Kansas foster care system. Victor was just 12. When his older sister turned old enough she left the foster care and moved to CO. Victor and his younger brother moved to CO to live with her in 2002. He boxed at a Salvation Army Rec Center and was noticed by some past boxing contender. Under his guidance Victor won the Junior Olympics tournament, at the age of 16 with a perfect record. He was then noticed by someone else famous in boxing and ended up moving to CA to attend some prestigious boxing school. That man became his legal guardian. The rest is history and he was on his way. Even though it provided him a life he does not want it for his children.
@Cidra I also agree with you about hoping he has some investments so he can retire after a few more fights. He said something about wanting to buy a new home so hopefully he does have some investments.
I always watch After Buzz and like EPmusic said you get to know the personalities of both pros and celebs in a much more relaxed atmosphere than typical interviews. I feel because of After Buzz I have gotten to know Anna a lot better and really like her. I think Anna is a beautiful dancer and look forward to seeing her dance some more this coming week.
I enjoyed seeing and getting to know Victor’s personality, even if he didn’t realize the format and just enjoyed sharing the stories about everyone. He seemed like he was really enjoying himself and seemed really relaxed and quite funny. I really would love to see him outlast both DL and Sean. Unfortunately, I don’t think he has the fan base even with his title. I have no idea who goes to boxing events as I know nothing about it, but they may not be the type of fans who watch DWTS and may enjoy seeing him boxing, but don’t even care that he is doing this show. Just guessing. Lindsey is new so wouldn’t bring in the amount of fans that I think Cheryl may have and may be helping DL to stay longer. I am not familiar with DL and how many of his own fans he has. I know that Sean was a popular Bachelor and I don’t know how many Bachelor fans are on this site, but have seen other sites that have quite a few.
Victor has overcome a very difficult childhood, and I found his story very inspiring to hear. I think his stint on the show will only help his career, as it has for many celebs in the past. He and Lindsay just don’t have any real charisma or anything that makes them stand out. I truly thought they would leave last week before Lisa and Gleb.
I thought it was kinda funny how Anna was so tired of all the wedding stories. Victor is also getting a business degree so he is definitely looking forward to a life after boxing.
