DWTS 16, Week 5 – SPOILERS!!! Who Got the Boot???
Well, it appears as though Heidi decided to sample moonshine for the first time this evening, and the last I heard on Twitter, she was feeling about like I was on that asthma medication last night – so I’m guessing she’s out committing a felony and smashing things like the Incredible Hulk 😛 So you guys get to deal with me tonight…yay!
Now that I’ve wasted enough space for the Twitter crowd…Victor, Sean, & Andy all ended up in jeopardy tonight, with Victor and Sean in the bottom two, and Victor going home. Can’t say I’m too surprised by that one…just like the team paso getting the encore, despite its mediocrity. Zzzzz….
How did the Pure crew do?
Courtney: Said Victor was going home, with Ingo in the bottom 2…with the off-chance that it would be Sean in the bottom 2 instead of Ingo.
Heidi: Said Victor and either Ingo or Andy in the bottom 2…and that Victor was likely toast.
Vogue: Said Victor & Sean in the bottom 2, with Victor leaving.
Vogue hit the nail on the head this week, with Heidi & I getting it partially right. Sean lives to awkwardly shimmy his way through Latin week (likely shirtless), Andy continues to be our little ray of sunshine, and Peanut will probably steal the show (and the cheese) again 😛 All is right in the Pure kingdom…moonshine & steroids for everyone!!! Kidding…sort of 😉

I knew there was a chance that Andy would be in the bottom two but I’m so happy he wasn’t because I would rather watch Andy than Sean any day. (although Sean is growing on me)
It was definitely Victor’s time to go, considering hes been in the bottom two every week it was sort of expected.
I don’t know about anyone else, but when TeamPaso was announced, I left the room. I couldn’t watch Val and his group of shirtless wonders again.
The joy on Andy’s face when he was announced safe was priceless. I’m so glad he’s around another week. I figured Victor would be the one leaving, but I didn’t care either way.

Even though it was obvious that Victor was getting the boot, for a second, I was chanting, “Sean, Sean, Sean, Sean!”
Looks like everyone loves Andy. They all seem to be rooting for him.
I didn’t watch that Team Paso encore. I turned to Frasier.
Glad to see Victor go and we have Andy another week.

Thank goodness Andy is safe. Once they announced Team Paso, off went ABC, I just couldn’t watch it any longer.

Relieved and so happy that Andy is safe! I was also really happy that he wasn’t in the bottom two.
As expected, we had to suffer through team paso again. I didn’t watch all of it, but from the parts I did see, it seemed sloppier than last time (if that’s possible), and Val wore a bolero jacket during the first part – and then he took it off and was shirtless.
Was okay with Sean in the bottom two, but happy that Victor went home first. At this point, I’d rather see Sean – at least his attitude is pretty positive – but I’ll be fine to see Sean leave next week.
I’m satistified with the result because victor didn’t want to be there and LINDSAY deserved someone who wanted to be there so she could choreograph something great! She couldn’t choreograph something for someone who doesn’t want to do it! Lindsay had an amazing first season getting to week six! Best of luck next season Lindsay! luv ya! My votes are now going to Val and Zendaya and Andy and Sharna. 🙂

So glad Andy was called safe! As for Victor,it was kind of obvious that he would be eliminated tonight since he has been in the bottom two so many times.
I too was reminded of Shawn, Derek, and Mark’s samba trio tonight when I saw the samba pro dance because of the costumes and the overall tribal theme. Henry must have definitely been inspired by that dance, lol.
Loved the dance before the commercials with Derek and Emma. I thought they danced great and Derek always amazes me with his precision and talent.
Not surprised that Team Paso got the encore.
Looking forward to next week’s Latin night because of Juanes. I’m a fan of his music, but I’m curious to see what songs of his they select for the couples to dance to.
Can I just pass on the steroids and go straight to the ‘shine??? 😀

Yeah, even “borrowed” the costumes from SJ’s samba or parts of them anyway. Don’t know about anyone else but moonshine and steroids aren’t gonna be enough for me if TPTB continue with their crap. That paso was insulting enough once, but twice. I thought this was supposed to be a show about halfway decent dancing ?? About 75% of the results shows, at least, have turned into pulsating light shows with glow sticks and people who can’t sing, and this season, the face of a Disney princess shoved on us thru the whole thing. My crowd, mostly 25’s to 30 like a little variety and not all 50’s-60′ music but not Mickey Mouse club! and highly techno-overproduced tweenage junk. At this point, well, last season too, we watch the show to see Dereks amazing work and the partners he always molds into great dancers and Karina when she has good partner and we drink a lot…HAHA Just sayin, can’t keep risking my sobriety on this turning really pathetic show. Oh, and don’t even get me started on the CONTINUING issue of votes cast for Kellie that still seem to be going to others !!

I’m not even trying to be mean but I watched that samba back and literally only Henry and Sasha can dance- the other three guys were not good and yes that means Gleb. He is a rather awkward dancer- I’m telling ya- watch it again!
What i can’t seem to understand is why the heck did they get the encore i mean come on I love Derek/Kellie so what ever they do i love and i also say if they did bad but i didn’t like the paso i mean i’m a person that can admit if something is good no matter who i like but am i the only one who was mad i turned the channel and watched something else i just couldn’t take Zendaya acting like she knows so much and those faces ugh but anyway thought i would let that out i feel better. 🙂
anddd….they legit wore the same costumes. Ok, the guys pants were slightly tuned down but they even had the matching arm band…now i am done for the night….Dee you are 100% right…often imitated never duplicated:)
What I liked tonight, in order:
(1) Victor getting eliminated – it was time to go!
(2) The fantastic Macy’s dance.
(3) The look at the crew goings on during the show. It would be worth it to be in the audience once just to see it the activity.
What I wish:
That we could have seen all of Derek and Emma(?)’s “commercial” dance, and also Mark and Lindsay’s – do they show up some place?
What I didn’t like:
The horrible Paso Doble encore. From the lack of comments from Tom and Brooke, I don’t think they liked it either.
There is a place here that has moonshine the regular version and then moonshine in, like, 8 flavors. Rocking.

I did like that little Jive with Derek & Emma before the commercial break. Derek looked dapper Jiving in that suit & that booty bounce by Emma had me cracking up! It seemed to catch Derek off guard too-LOL
Very happy to see Victor leave. This Twitter voting may very well effective Zendaya in a negative way. Someone mentioned how William Levy is pushed on the audience and everyone thought he would win, but in the end
it didn’t go that way. I can see the hurting Zendaya in the end. I think next week it will be Andy/Sharna, Ingo/Kym and Aly/Mark in the bottom. I think it will be Ingo going, since Andy appears to have more fans and his definately more entertaining. Unless TPTB go for their “most shocking elimination ever” line and it’s Aly and Mark going. Can’t wait to see.

Well due to airline delays and my dvr crapping out, again, I missed the results show but since I see it went pretty much as we all expected, I don’t regret missing it.
So glad we get to see Andy next week. Latin Week next? Hmmm, hope Andy’s prepared to just have fun, entertain his fans, and ignore the nasty remarks from the judges because you know they’re going to be obnoxious again.
Can’t wait to get caught up on all the Pure goodness I’ve missed.

Andy and Sharna’s reaction to being called safe… Priceless. They looked totally stunned but elated and I loved seeing everyone on that stage so happy for them.
I’m glad Victor went home and it wasn’t really wasnt really a shocker either. The pro dance was amazing. I’m glad that Kellie and Derek, Aly and Mark, and even Andy are safe. I’m also tired of this stupid twitter voting nonsense. Need to stop pushing Zendaya down our throats like I said earlier in another post. Highlight of the night that got me laughing really hard, if anyone heard Brooke call Peta “Peter” by accident. That was definitely an epic fail, I’m sure she wasn’t aware she was still on. Sean and Peter! 😉 Can’t wait to see whats gonna happen next week.

#Vogue – Ditto!
So if I remember an earlier post right, the highest scorer next week is safe and the rest have to dance for immunity? Ridiculous. Does anyone know if that’s true? If so, the Disney golden girl is safe because they’ll make sure she gets the high score even if she blatantly messes up.
It’s obvious over the next 3 eliminations that it will be Ingo, Sean and Andy. I’m hoping Andy outlasts the other 2. They are both so incredibly dull. I’m still hoping there’s a huge shocker and Z gets the boot. I can dream, can’t I?
Yay that Andy was not in the bottom 2. Double Yay that he will be dancing next week. His relief/joy at being safe was touching. He’s getting my votes as long as Ingo and Sean are in the picture – I find Andy miles more entertaining than either one of them, although I will miss Peanut. And if Aly doesn’t get her stuff together soon I may have to add her to the list of folks to go before Andy does. She’s a sweet girl, I have no doubt, but her dancing does nothing for me. I saw more personality in her Foxtrot than I’ve seen all season, so maybe she’s broken a barrier.
Paso Encore = bathroom break, wine refill, grab a snack. It was so booooring the first time, couldn’t sit through it again. And so freaking predictable. That’s something no TV show wants to be ….predictable.
Jacoby – babe, just dance. Sure, continue trying to point your toes, but at the end of the day, JUST DANCE! It is such a joy to watch, pigeon toes be damned!
Does anyone remember when Roshon was eliminated? Len had called him the best male celeb that season I believe and he also had a great young fan base didn’t he? Yet he wasn’t pimped to high heaven like Zendaya. I need to brush up on my DWTS history, but if history really does repeat itself, then I don’t think when it’s all said and done Zendaya will win. But then again, with this new Twitter twist in voting, it really isn’t the same show as in past seasons. But even if Zendaya doesn’t win the MBT she and Val have both scored career wins IMO. Both have increased their fan bases and probably will get even more media exposure once the season is over. I would be shocked if Val doesn’t land a guest spot on Z’s Disney show. And he’ll probably get one for his Big Bro as well! Just look at General Hospital!
I loved during the results show when they showed Andy’s dance and they have Kellie giving Andy a pre-performance “my postman isnt as hot as you” hug and after in the skybox Aly turning to someone and saying how happy she is for Andy that he’s “so awesome.” Very cute and lots of camaraderie it seems among the cast.

I loved Lindsay on SYTYCD and loved her this season on DWTS. However, I felt Victor lacked motivation and she would try her best.
I love Kellie and Zendaya this season and even though he keeps scoring low, Andy. Jacoby isn’t so bad either, the little clips of him makes me laugh in a good way.
Not a fan of Sean or Aly, I find (in my opinion of course) they are boring.
Ingo is okay, huge fan of him on General Hospital
Stevie Wonder Week. Great idea. Incredible songwriter, musician, entertainer. I was thinking, who else of similar caliber could they center a week on in the future? Bonnie Raitt and Paul Simon came to mind. Any suggestions?
A friend pointed out to me that Len did not offer an apology on the Results Show to Andy for his nasty comments. She also reminded me that when Bruno called Billy Ray Cyrus’s dance “crap”, Bruno apologized at the top of the Results show for that season. I guess DWTS is in “no accountability mode” like so many other people.
Yeah, as soon as the MBT is handed out this season, I’m done.
Go Andy. Sweet Revenge could be yours. Wouldn’t it be nice to see the underdog, non-dancer walk out with the MBT?
I don’t think anyone is pushing Zendaya down our throats. Big difference between William Levy and Zendaya is that she can dance. I started voting for Sean, but after the 3rd week I started voted for her. Most of the people that I follow on twitter are also voting for her and RTd over and over again the #EncorePaso hashtag. It wasn’t a perfect dance, neither one was, but the choreography was more difficult.
It’s refreshing to see someone like Zendaya. So young and talented. A great example for many teenagers. Same with Ali. Both with a good head on their shoulders.
I’m glad Andy stayed. He seems to be having lots of fun and really enjoying his time on the show. Too bad Len doesn’t see that.
So, from what I gather from your comment, Amanda, is that it’s ok to throw someone in our faces, IF THEY CAN DANCE? First you say you don’t think they’re shoving Zendaya down our throats, then you compare her to William, who was also shoved down our throats, and say “but Zendaya can dance”. I personally don’t care if someone dances like a pro or if they can’t dance for sh*t – let me make my own damn decisions, and don’t engineer all of these silly little Twitter contests, whereby you increase Z’s exposure, and salivate over her every move…even if the technique is not proportional to the amount of gushing being done. Zendaya’s good enough to win this WITHOUT all the pimping…but it’s the pimping itself that is turning me off of her completely.
And the team paso choreography “was more difficult”? In what universe??? I saw a lot of walking, sloppy cape whipping, and overdramatic arm gestures…and it was all done out of sync. Even Zendaya’s choreography was far too easy for her. Team samba, on the other hand, had the added complication of having to make their dance go around the room, and having a dance that is exponentially more difficult to master than paso doble – the samba bounce alone can stymie even the most skilled dancer, and even Zendaya’s samba was lacking in that department. Did either team nail it? No, but team paso totally phoned it in on that choreography…just compare it to the season 7 team paso doble and the season 13 team paso doble. It looks downright amateurish.
Well i hope she does something better next week but i could really care less about her and val does anyone know the dance Derek and Kellie are dancing??
For those of you that missed the team paso encore, it had great comedic value! 🙂 on one if those “slide the girl around on the floor” moves, it looked like Ingo was going to launch Kym 5 rows deep into the audience. She had that “OMG!” Look on her face… Priceless. I’m praying that makes the cheese!!!!
I loved the season 13 team paso despite all the backstage drama. I have to go you tube the season 7 one since I can’t recall it at the moment. Considering how technical and precise Z’s Argentine Tango was, that choreo in the team dance really was like an insult to her ability as a dancer IMO. I can’t see Val being afraid of outshining the other couples, so I just don’t get why it wasn’t better. I really hope Kellie and Derek have the Argentine tango next week. I really want to see her remain #1. Plus, I’m sure Derek will design another iconic dance that will please the fans. Seeing that man smiling and dancing is the only thing that makes Monday bearable for me!

I see a lot of people avoided the encore paso – I waited until 9:45 to start watching my recording so I could fast forward through it. This tweeting is really ticking me off, especially since I think this was the worse team dance ever. It was time for Victor and I hope it is Sean next week – his dancing is painful to watch and I think everyone else seems to be showing improvement.

LOL Sally, I did catch that one – Ingo nearly dislocating Kym’s arm and her screetching for help as she tumbled across the floor 😛 The thing that really cracked me up about that damn encore was that you could tell that everyone was “over-dancing” in order to make it look more interesting…but instead of looking more impactful, it just looked kind of desperate. Just because you do crummy choreography with more enthusiasm, does not make any better 😛 Also caught a rather odd-looking moment between Zendaya and Val in that encore – watch her face as he takes off his little bolero jacket. She almost looks scared. And can I hereby move that cape work by any non-professional male dancer be banned from team paso dobles, henceforth? It always looks like a hot mess, and it’s never in sync.
for who ever was asking…Derek and Kellie have the Samba. The following week should be epic though because i read/watched an interview somewhere and he was all excited because they are doing something that has never been done on the show before. One thing i am excited about are the dances that are left for Kellie and Derek- Contemporary, AT, paso, regular tango, VW…all dances that should really make her shine.
Joey – I wonder if it’s going to be that move he learned from Davis/White? =D Just adore that he’s going to choreograph for them – they are so good and will be able to do his genius proud…
I thought the samba pro dance was a boring re-hash of the exciting Shawn/Derek/Mark samba trio. Really enjoyed Derek and Emma’s dancing; always a special treat for me to watch Derek do what he does. Soooo glad Victor is gone, baby gone. The encore paso was worse that the original, and I just changed the channel after a while; even a commercial was more interesting. Can’t wait to see what Derek pulls out of the hat for Kellie next week!
Does anyone think they make Andy & Sharna sweat it out to the end because they know millions of viewers would switch channels/ turn the TV off if they called him safe in the first half of the show? I know I would…

So Team Paso won, what a surprise.
Here is what I think about twitter voting. I understand ABC is trying to attract younger viewers, hoping twitter could help them. Well, I don’t work for ABC and have no idea if it’s working for them. However, I do feel they might be upsetting their regular viewers.
I mean, this voting system is slightly different from normal voting, the difference being that less people who vote feel like they are on the winning team. When people vote for their fav couple(s) to get them to the next week and only 1 couple is leaving, chances are the majority of the public will be happy. Their couple survived and that’s a short term victory 🙂 The thing is, you can’t really say that about twitter voting. There is only 1 winner. And if you lose twice in a row, chances are you just give up on twitter voting, because you feel you are wasting your time.
I don’t think ABC is trying to push Zendaya through twitter, although she does have some extremely avid followers 🙂 In the end, it can turn against her in the finale with some people casting anti Zendaya votes (which I think is a foolish thing to do, but there were some anti votes in the past, so I guess we humans are indeed silly 🙂
Well, it is what it is. I’m from Europe and I usually don’t watch the results show, so the twitter thing shouldn’t bother me. But to be honest, it bugs me a little …
I think TPTB know people are entertained by Andy and most want to see him be successful. I think they might be putting him in the bottom 3 consistently so that his fans vote hard to save him and he doesn’t fall into that category of celebs who everyone expected to be safe, but in the end didn’t actually get enough votes to be saved.
Out of all the male celebrities. Jacoby may be doing better than Andy. But, I find Andy a lot easier to watch. Than the others, he may not be the best dancer. But, his entertainment level is a lot more enjoyable to watch. Not sure what the moonshine, and steroids were referring too. But, me personally I’d take the moonshine to ease the thought of looking at another bare chested male. Than take the steroids. Those shirtless dances are making me want Derek and Kellie. And Andy and Sharna in the finals. I was rooting for Zendaya and Val. And hating on Derek. Definitely will take the moonshine over the steroids. After this weeks competition. I liked the pro dance number from Monday, more than I did Henry’s Samba number. Is it just me or are they really testing the choreography level of those that have been in the Dance Troupe.
Court – I think part of what had Zendaya confused during the encore was that her skirt was about to fall off prematurely… it was mostly off, she had to keep catching it during their solo. Glad you caught Ingo launching Kym… for those that care, it’s at the very end of their solo in the team paso encore. 🙂 Just comedy-filled, all the way around!

Vogue and Butterfly, thanks for the welcome back. I really hate it when work and other things keep me away from Pure. Looking forward to getting back in the middle of all the chatter.
I just have an icky feeling that TPTB’s Latin Week is really “get rid of Andy week” by giving him rumba and throwing in this immunity dance thing. I’m with those who have their fingers crossed that Andy can outlast Sean and Ingo (in that order). However, Andy and Rumba scare me. My only consolation is it sounds like clever Sharna has a gem of an idea to somehow make it work for him.
First let me say that I don’t either like or dislike Val. I thought he did a good job with Sherri Shepherd but last season with Kelly not so much. He seems a bit egotistical but that is the worst I have to say about him. I also will say up front I am a Derek fan because I think his choreography is out of this world and I think he has a gift in terms of teaching and knowing how to bring out the best in someone. So I found it amusing when Derek said in his blog that came out BEFORE the two shows this week that he had a brand new move that he learned from the skaters and THEN Val says after the results show he has a brand new move that is going to wow everyone. My thought was feeling competitive there Val. Quite a “coinkidink” that Val said that right after Derek wrote it in his blog, don’t ya think. On another note I wish TPTB would just let us vote and be done with it, however I know I am being reasonable and rational and as I often tell my clients…don’t expect that people….but it is a hard lesson to learn. I hope someone from the show reads this board because I think it is the most honest. Either that or maybe they could take a clue from American Idol which I think has learned how to limit twitter votes to 50. Now that I could tolerate.

well #Lynne said that derek said he had a new move and then val ends up saying he has a new move i mean okay he prob does and that doesn’t really mean that he is jealous of derek but to me its like some of the ways val comes off last year he said kelly is really dancing and not doing tricks like shawn like come on. you can’t get mad at that and sometimes he comes off like maks and i hate it you kno but in ways i thnx that he is jealous of derek and thats gonna be my opinion just saying 🙂
I just saw the rules for the dance off. What a crock. So in other words, Z will be given immunity, unless some other top dancer really needs it. Can I assume the three pairings of the remaining 6 will be set up so Sean gets three extra points and Andy won’t. I do have to wonder if Ally is getting lost in the crowd and needs some propping as well. I’m guessing Ally, Sean and Kelly will get the extra points, even if the pairings are picked at random from the bag.
I was just thinking back on the results show, and WillIAm’s performance in particular.
Was he actually there? Granted, I don’t really know him, don’t listen to his music, but between the big hat, sunglasses, and the camera being pulled back to see all of the dancers, and the few closer shots seeming to have a strange angle….. Was it really him, or did he send an impersonator?
I was distracted when the show was live, looking at the horrible pants, and wracking my brain to remember what they were called… Hammer pants..
I don’t believe that AI uses twitter as a voting option – I could be wrong, but they never have before and I’m watching the show this season and haven’t heard it mentioned.
Karen, they have no reason to care about Aly at this point. She will likely win her pairing unless it’s against Kellie or Zen, but they don’t care. They only benefit from helping Zen, Sean and, to a lesser extent, Ingo.
