Juanes And Michael Bublé are set to perform for Dancing With The Stars Week 7!! Also ABC has outlined how the Immunity Dances will take place. Below is more from the official site….
Also on the agenda for Latin Night, the remaining seven couples will dance to Latin hits. After each couple has danced, the top couple based on judges’ scores will be safe from elimination for the week. The remaining six couples will then take part in the Dance Off, where they’ll compete against another couple doing the cha-cha, jive or rumba. For each of the three face-offs, the judges will declare a winning team, who’ll be able to add three bonus points to their score.
Hmmm, why do I get the feeling the Immunity Dance isn’t going to be very fair? 😕

Episode 1607 & 1607A” – It’s Latin Night on “Dancing with the Stars,” as seven remaining couples take to the ballroom floor and perform to a Latin-inspired hit, MONDAY, APRIL 29 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET). In a new twist and another “Dancing with the Stars” first, the couple with the highest overall score for the night will be granted immunity from elimination on Tuesday. The couples who do not receive immunity will then compete in a dance-off to earn extra judges’ points in an effort to increase their overall score. The show will also feature music by Grammy winner and Spanish language rock artist Juanes, who will perform a medley of his hits, including “La Camisa Negra” and “Cumbia Sexy.”
On TUESDAY, APRIL 30, one couple will be eliminated on “Dancing with the Stars the Results Show” (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET). The show will feature music by Michael Bublé who will perform “Come Dance with Me” off his new album, “To Be Loved.” The show will also feature its second “AT&T Spotlight Performance” of the season, focusing on youth organization the Camden Sophisticated Sisters and its founder, Tawanda Jones. The program, located in Camden, New Jersey, provides an opportunity for young women to learn discipline and cooperation and to gain a sense of achievement through drill team competition. This “Spotlight Performance” will feature an inspiring routine by eight members of the organization. In addition, “Macy’s Stars of Dance” returns for its fourth installment of the season. Choreographed and performed by Allison Holker and Stephen “tWitch” Boss, the dance will feature musical accompaniment by violinist and youtube sensation Lindsey Stirling.

Looking forward to Michael Buble. He said a few seasons ago that he would loved to do the show, as in dance! I wonder if he’ll mention anything this time.

Predictions: Zendaya will be immune. Kellie will win her faceoff. Aly will win her faceoff (assuming she’s not facing Kellie) Andy will get hosed. Since we (think we) know the script, can we just skip this now? smh
So we know Zendaya will be safe…so what if they put Kellie against Jacoby who do you think they will save? Or maybe they will decide to call Jacoby safe and they put Zendaya against Kellie. Guess we know how that will go. This whole thing stinks and looks to ANYBODY like major interfering with viewers votes. My opinion is that fewer and fewer regular viewers will vote because they are thinking more and more that it doesn’t matter or they just stop listening even more than usual when Tom or whomever starts explaining yet another new twist. No-one other than us ardent fans take the time to bother with something else to think about.
Wow! So let me guess…The Disney Kid is a sensational dancer but isn’t getting enough votes compared to the others probably large fanbases??
I mean Jacoby has to get tons of votes he is an NFL player and we all know how that goes. Kellie and Derek together probably bring in a significant amount as does Aly and Mark. Ingo was a huge soap star on General Hospital and given the success of his other co-stars (Kelly & JR) he is probably getting plenty of votes every week. Which leaves Sean and Andy. I honestly think Andy is pulling in enough votes to keep him in at least one more week. My mom and grandmother vote for him every week and he isn’t even their favorite they just think he is adorable and hilarious!
I can’t imagine that Sean would be getting enough votes to keep in the competition, unless he scores several points more than Kellie, Aly, Ingo, or Andy.
All just my opinions!! Ya’ll are the experts!
So what might happen? The celeb not pulling in major votes gets immunity and the other obviously better dancers be paired against the “poorer”ones?
Ex. Kellie vs. Ingo, Aly vs. Sean Jacoby vs. Andy with Zendaya having immunity

I agree…good or bad, Zendaya will get the immunity and saved from the elimination(why did they have to add this part which makes it even more unfair?).
I really think voting must be way down and this immunity dance is a way to ensure that Zendaya gets to the finals. I don’t see this as helping Sean in any way shape or form and TPTB at ABC I’m sure don’t want viewers to forget him before his wedding. Does anyone know is the wedding going to be televised live in August or are they getting married earlier and it won’t be shown until August?
Wait….what?? Could they make this anymore convoluted? So, if you’re not Zendaya, oops I mean whoever “happens” to get the highest score, you have to practice three backup routines for the head to head dances?

So…………… I’m a little confused about something, let me try to explain….
Let’s imagine that Zen gets 29 points, Kellie gets 28 points, Jacoby gets 27 points, and Aly gets 27 points.
Zen has the highest score, so she is automatically immune, and the rest are paired up with Ingo, Sean and Andy.
Assuming they pair a stronger couple with a weaker couple, the judges name Kellie, Jacoby and Aly winners, giving them 3 more points.
Am I right so far?
So, with the 3 points added to Kellie, Jacoby and Aly, the scoreboard now looks like this:
Zendaya 29 points, Kellie 31 points, Jacoby and Aly 30 points.
So even though Zendaya was first in points, she’s suddenly in 4th place? And this whole stupid thing is just an excuse to automatically put Ingo, Sean and Andy into jeopardy????
PH, can you run some numbers before the show, or just help us out and make things clear just how big a wrench they’re throwing? Or attempt to unscramble my brain?
This immunity dance seems like a crap idea and that it would have been much better off to have had a marathon last week and group dances this week for Latin Week. It will be very curious, and notice they don’t say, how they pair the couples to dance against each other. They can manipulate it however they want. They do top of the leader board verses top (like Kellie/Jacoby, etc.) or cross pair it with the highest vs. the lowest (where you could see a Kellie/Andy or something of the like face-off) or maybe theyll do it totally randomly.
They also don’t mention how they’ll chose which dance the couples will do for the dance off. Unless its totally random like picking out of a hat more room for manipulation. Of the cha cha, jive and rumba, Kellie, Jacoby and Sean (rumba for week 7) have done all 3, Zendaya, Ingo (rumba for week 7) and Andy (rumba for week 7) have done 2 and Aly has done 1.
Sean, Kellie and Aly all travelled this week and Andy is shooting his pilot and with all that four dances is a lot of prepare.
Yep, Minnie, you got it. The celebs have to learn their main dance plus enough rumba, cha-cha, and jive so they’ll be ready to perform whichever dance they’re assigned for the dance off.
Setting aside the whole issue of TPTB manipulating the outcome, it just bugs the heck out of me that throwing all these extra dances at the celebs just lowers the quality of the dancing we get to see. I’d so much prefer to see *one* well-rehearsed dance from each couple. The whole notion of “quality” has completely gone out the window, and we’ve embraced the notion of “more is better” in just about every facet of our society. *sigh*

If I were the high scorer before the dance-off, I wouldn’t care where I ended up at the end of the night because I’ve already been saved from elimination.
Surely they wouldn’t be so obvious as to set up the dance offs with one strong and one weak couple? I mean, really, how stupid do they think the average viewer is? Even the dimb-est bulb in the chandelier would smell a rat if they were to pair Kellie with Sean, Aly with Ingo, and Jacoby with Andy.
Raise your hand if you think we’ll see people complaining about seeing a lot of repeat choreography…
But how do they expect everyone to learn 4 completely new dances in 4 days?
If I recall correctly from the WTF cha-cha in Season 12-the pairings went 1 vs. 4 seed, 2 vs. 3 seed (Hines/Ralph, Chelsea/Kirstie) However I can’t remember if the seedings were on the night’s scores, or the overall season to date…which at that point, may have been one and the same. So unfortunately, I can see them doing it again. I’m expecting lotsa f’ed up scoring on Monday… :-\
the person with the highest score has immunity from the dance off challenge AND being eliminated. That person will be safe for sure that week. I think who ever wins it will actually work against them. (in the bigger picture). People like to see people work and appreciate it. It can go one of two ways- Zendaya wins OR they actually give it to someone else- possibly Jacoby to mix it up. He is due to be at the top of the score board….start his transition into winning this thing! LOL
@Blonde regarding your question of Sean’s wedding in August. Sean gave an interview where he said that was not going to happen as he and Catherine have had no time to plan anything. He said it would probably not take place until winter. Whenever it does happen it is suppose to be live.
I am still totally confused as to what they are doing, and I am getting so tired of it all. Just let them dance like they use to and let the viewers decide. All these games they insist on playing makes me question whether this viewer wants to watch after this season. They may think they are keeping it young and fresh, but imo they are ruining a show I have watched from the beginning.
In addition to the other advantages of being the chosen one for immunity..that person looks so much better in the audiences eyes because the only dance we see from them is the complete and most practiced one. Any of the other couples having to suddenly adjust to dancing another one(guessing the dance and music are pulled out of a hat or somthg?) of 3 dances they have been practicing but don’t have complete routines for(unless they repeat one if they have already done it) could really fall apart or mess it up. I know a lot of people who were pissed after last ssn, love Jacoby, Kellie and Andy or Aly, but no longer vote. They think its a complete waste of time.

Actually, I don’t think the judges like Jacoby, and while they like Andy, they want him gone next. That’s just my guess, of course. I would fully expect Zendaya to get immunity (and I have a feeling she’s part of the reason they are doing this) unless Val craps out (again) on the choreo. Gets complacent. Whatever.
Everything hinges on how they set up the “dance off” – if they do anything other than draw for partners, it’s totally rigged. Even drawing for partners can be rigged, though. If they do it high score versus low score (not counting the immune one), that is very easily rigged by over/under scoring of couples.
Any way you look at this, it’s fucked up.
TPTB don’t have a vested interest in Jacoby, so I can’t see them doing anything to help him win (not that I think he needs any help). However, I can see them giving the top spot to Kellie or Aly so that Zendaya is in one of the dance offs as a way of whipping her legion of little fans into a frenzy and getting them to tune in on Tuesday to see if she’s safe 🙄
The Stooges will have to consult with each other even more than usual over what paddle each is going to give to make sure there’s no tie at the top of the leaderboard.
Just look at the leader board for last week, Lori. Well, the week before would be better because the numbers are smaller and more comparable. Let’s say Zendaya gets a 30, which she is pre-ordained to do since she’s not been at the top for a bit. Then let’s say Kellie gets 29, Aly 28, Jacoby 25, Sean 25, Ingo 24 and Andy 21 (if he’s lucky and they don’t want the rigging to look too bad).
Keep in mind that TPTB that designed this idea know EXACTLY how many votes each celeb is getting and what kind of margin it would take for Andy to get the boot. So, Zen gets the 30 and is automatically safe – done deal. IF they do what I think they’ll do and construct some sort of best against worst sort of thing, the match up would be Kellie v Andy, Aly v Ingo, and Jacoby v Sean. Kellie, Aly and SEAN all win their matchups. The leader board now looks like this:
Zen – 30
Kellie – 32
Aly – 31
Sean – 28
Jacoby – 25
Ingo -24
Andy 21
Zen is safe and there is 10 points or more between Kellie/Aly and Andy. Your three best dancers are almost guaranteed safety, as is your family member Sean with a 7 point lead over Andy. Jacoby with 25 is only four points ahead (again, if Andy is lucky – I bet they give him an 18) but Jacoby is probably getting a shit ton of votes. That means either Ingo or Andy is sure to go home. Probably Andy, because they’ll put out the “It’s week 7, we have to get tougher on scores now” card. If Andy has 18 and the rest of the scoring shake out like I said? He goes home.
I would go so far as to say that it doesn’t have to be Zen that gets immunity; it could be either her, Kellie or Aly because each of those three is very likely to win their matchup and the increase in the margin that the three points adds is designed to get rid of Andy or Ingo.

If Sean and Jacoby are paired in the dance-off, it’s going to be so ridiculous watching The Stooges give Sean the win. No one in the audience is going to believe for a sescond that Sean danced a better cha-cha or jive than Jacoby. (I don’t even bring up rumba because surely TPTB wouldn’t be stupid enough to have their stiff-as-a-board Batchelor Boy rumba in a dance-off with Jacoby or anyone else.)

They just keep doing stupider and stupider things all to protect Zendaya! Ya, we ALL know the girl can dance but a 29 for her worst dance thus far? She aint all that and a bag of chips and isn’t getting the votes. The Twitter twerps tweet all night long…they aren’t voting.
Unfortunately at this point of the competition is when they want to clean up the dance shop making it almost impossible for the weaker dancers to remain in the competition.

So basically TPTB are telling us they will have to massage the scores in the first round so there isn’t a tie for first place. Thank you for confirming what we have all known for a long time. Wouldn’t it be funny if one of the Three Stooges messes up and gives the wrong score?
When they announces these “fixes” mid season it just makes the show look so desperate to predetermine the outcome. Obviously someone needs major pimping or Andy has overstayed his welcome. I wonder if the show will be so obvious as to pair a low scorer with a high one.
I hate when they overwhelm the dancers with too many dances. Couldn’t they accomplish what they are trying to do by over scoring and low balling two dances? Don’t they actually end up bunching the dancers closer together by giving out less points in the second round? Or are they scoring the second round AND giving out bonus points?
I’m thoroughly disgusted with this ever increasing manipulation. I think it’s too early for this to all be about protecting Zendaya from going home, though. At this stage with people like Andy, Ingo and Sean in the mix, she can’t be in any danger of going home yet even if she isn’t pulling in the votes they want.
So what is this really all about? Give her immunity to make it seem even more obvious that there’s no way anyone else can possible win, and then using the face-off judging to prop Sean up and save him? He really is in danger this week if the show was being fair and just let the audience vote be worth half the score as usual.
I also think they want to hammer down on Jacoby because he’s been getting a lot of votes, and they don’t want that. I do think he’s the only real threat to Zendaya winning. I expect him to continue to be getting low-balled like he was last week to give the audience the idea he can’t win so don’t waste your vote on him. I also wouldn’t be shocked if they did have Sean or Ingo win over him like PH suggested above to further make it look like he’s not as good as the audience thinks he is and they shouldn’t waste their votes on him.
How long are these face-off dances supposed to be? It’s absolutely ridiculous that they are making everyone learn 4 dances. What celebrity who might have been thinking about doing the show is going to want to do next season after seeing all they’re putting everyone through? I think after this season I may go back to DVRing the show and fast-forwarding to see Karina and one or two other dances and that’s it.
Y’all know that Andy’s new pilot that starts filming next week is for ABC, right?
What happens if say early in the show within the first few dances someone receives a perfect 30. Does that mean no one else will be allowed to receive a 30 because the show can’t have a tie at the top?
Another issue is how this can affect the voting. You could use all of your votes for your favorite after their dance and then they end up being the top scorer and immune, and now your votes have just gone to waste because they were not needed. Your second favorite might need them instead because they just lost their dance off and now are lower on the leaderboard than they should be, but now those wasted votes aren’t available to give to them.
I hate everything about this dance off idea!
Oh my gosh… Why are TPTB meddling so much? Leave everything and everyone alone!!! Their obsession with the younger audience baffles me to no end.

Wow, TPTB are really becoming transparent. I was wondering why Kellie wasn’t given a Paso or Salsa.. Now its clear. She would have been serious competition for that Immunity win. Not that I don’t think she’ll do well with the Samba but, is one of the most difficult dances for a celeb to perform. Hope she has a fantastic song because Derek said they are focusing on their main dance! Maybe another “upset” is in the works! Now that would be AWESOME!!

Andy’s pilot starts filming next week? boy, they didn’t hold out much hope for Andy’s longevity, did they? If that’s the case, he won’t last cause I don’t think he can do a pilot AND dance.
This immunity thing has crapola written all over it. What hogwash, they must think we’re all so stoopid – way to underestimate, and lose, your core audience! This does not bode well for Monday night, sigh.
This seems like a prop for Zendaya and to rid Andy. It seems like Val and Zendaya are focusing on paso for this week and were complacent last week. I hope they do win immunity. It is intended for them and she can take the backlash that comes from it.

Jenn, you can be sure TPTB will set up the running order very carefully, and The Stooges will have discussed things beforehand and have a plan in place to make sure they don’t give out a 30 too soon or to the wrong person.
As far as the voters are concerned, they’ll have to make up their minds early whether they want to vote during the show for their favorite or hold them until the end to see who needs them the most. If a lot of people hold onto their votes, phone voting after the show could be like trying to get home during rush hour.
More nonsense tinkering, as usual trying to drum up interest any way they can. Well the only way for this to not be completely unfair is for the dances and dance-off match-ups to be random. Meaning, each couple would draw a dance out of a hat and that is their dance-off dance. That way both the dance and pairing would be random. If they don’t do it this way, it’ll be a complete set up.
About the judges’ collusion — my initial reaction was the same, but then I thought that Len was just asking Bruno what he wanted to give so that he could write it down on that ridiculous piece of paper which Carrie Ann is always handing off to someone.
I have a question, what night will the dance off be? Derek’s blog said Tuesday but the official write up sounded like Monday.
#45 – I think Susan is right about that conversation between Len and Bruno. The judges have to write their scores down on the paper so that the scores get to the graphics people so we have the graphics as the scores are being announced.
Henry Byalikov says that the couple with the second highest score chooses whoever they want to go against and so on. He also mentions that next week, the celebrities will dance with a troupe member so I guess next week is trio’s week?

Nothing like trying to make the couples look like the bad guys if they are picking who to dance against this week. I hate when the show tries to break down the camaraderie of the couples, like they did last year when the couples were supposed to pick weak dances for each other. I think back then the couples went out of their way to try to not screw over other couples…although all of the choices were pretty awful last season, so it was hard to tell. Now it makes a bit of sense why celebs were being edited to say they thought they were better than Andy last week. I hope the couples are really free to pick who they want to go up against and aren’t forced into pairs by TPTB, although I still don’t like that the show is making them do their dirty work. We know how much the show controls things behind the scenes. I think most of the pros would want to go against their equals rather than picking on a weaker celeb. For example, I can’t see Derek wanting to pick on poor Andy. He’d rather have a legitimate challenge against an equal. On the other hand, he would have to worry about protecting Kellie the best he could, although she shouldn’t be in any real danger. If the teams pick their closest rivals, it could really mess with the show’s plans.

I’m actually hoping Zendaya doesn’t win the immunity. I would love to see this whole thing blow up in the producer’s faces.
I’m sure this immunity thing will show us how bad Andy can’t dance and I suspect he will be the first celeb picked to dance against.
If the celebs truly pick, I am really worried that Kellie won’t really strategise at all. And then what happens, they do or don’t get 2 extra points if they win their challenge and then the viewers vote after that? And if the pros are allowed to help them decide, I doubt Derek would pick Aly(Mark) or Andy.???what do the mods think? do you think she might pick Jacoby thinking the extra points could be made up by viewers? I really think it’s a terrible position to put them in.
I didn’t know that, Evaine, but it really doesn’t change how I see things. They don’t have a lot invested in Andy (certainly not a record deal and future “Selena” status) – he’s going to be a co-star, as opposed to a lead, and the show isn’t going to be riding on him. Plus they’ve always had a two-fold agenda as we’ve said multiple times. Pimp the family and get rid of the bad dancers sooner, which not only protects the good dancers, but saves the supposed credibility of a “dance show”. I haven’t seen them doing much to help Sean either cuz all he’s into them for is a televised wedding.
Andy has stuck around on his own merits, thus far. It WILL be interesting to see how this shakes out, for sure. If what I’m reading about the teams selecting who to dance against is true, then that’s even WORSE than anything I had imagined. What a shitty way to go, destroying camaraderie. I’d much rather they fix it for Zendaya, actually. HATE that idea.

Ohhh….a PILOT. Not an actual TV show, yet. Okay, that’s so not a big deal – well, it’s huge for ANDY and good for him, but it’s not big for ABC. The shoot a Zillion pilots and most of them never get picked up by the network. Sure they picked Andy recently – he’s charming and that will improve their odds tremendously. But if it’s a pilot, ABC isn’t that invested in it yet, I don’t think.
Whats the point in this? To save Zendaya? I’d think she’s pretty safe for a while. She’s more likeable and has more crazy supporters than Chelsea Kane, at least IMO. Do they just want to get rid of Andy that badly? Whats wrong with him staying? Sean and Ingo have made it pretty far and are clearly weaker dancers than Z,Kellie, Jacoby, and Aly, so why not let them go? After the wedding Sean doesnt have anything else with ABC, and its week 7. Ingo’s stayed around for a while, just let him go.
Oh geez, these dance-offs just get worse by the minute! I agree with Karen T, I hate it when the show forces the couples into a position where they either have to look like overly-competitive scum by screwing their competitors or take the high road and risk screwing themselves.
I still feel if we must have these ridiculous head-to-head dances, the couples should be paired up based on their scores at the end of the first round, #2 dances off against #3, #4 dances off against #5, and #6 dances off against #7.
I find it interesting, in a broader sense of things, that of the 7 celebs left, 4 of them now have ABC ties.
And I wonder if Henry might be mistaken and it’s not the celeb actually choosing their opponents but more a picking of the envelope out of the mirrorball bowl. Either way it’s going to be interesting.

As I said before, it doesn’t matter that much which of the women get the high score because all three SHOULD benefit. UNLESS, one of the pros gets cute and picks another contender to dance against. The more this immunity thing is discussed, the more I’m thinking it’s just another opportunity to cause DRAMA and detract from the actual dancing. Even though I agree that a pilot is not as secure as an actual tv show that guaranteed a whole season, I still feel Ingo is in greater jeopardy than Andy. Andy, though not as good a dancer as Ingo is Far more entertaining and has a great, inspirational story to share. Plus, even though Kym has been my fave female pro, she really doesn’t seem to be invested in the competition this season or is maybe becoming burned out like Cheryl appears to be. Sharna, on the other hand has really taken every opportunity to not only be a supportive partner to Andy, but to provide is really fun, creative choreo for viewers to enjoy! I don’t expect them to get to the finals, but I would love to see what kind of freestyle Sharna would choreograph for Andy.
With the way scores are given and perception about fan bases, I think it would be hard to see Andy, Sean or Ingo breaking into the top 4.
I do think it’s interesting that Andy, Sean and Ingo all have the same dance this week almost so you can put the perceived bottom three up against each other this week.
TPTB want drama. I think they might pull this stunt.

I really appreciate seeing PH analysis posts #24 and #60 that spell out how it likely helps all 3 women. To me, that’s more logical than pov’s of some extreme fans who would say it’s of course a fix for Zendaya, or of course a fix for “golden boy”, or of course a fix for Aly who isn’t getting votes…rather a generalized effort of insure they get 3 good dancers into the finals. And perhaps more than one of them does need help to insure that?
Also, it seems weird to me that they’d try desperately to get rid of Andy at week 7. Maybe week 8 or perhaps even more so at week 9 (I don’t agree with it at any week) but why so early? As CAI said in one interview, he’s perfection in his own way. There’s a way he’s adding heart to the season, way more so than a couple other not great dancers.
Horrible pitting pairs against each other. And agree with the comments of how it unfortunately leads to less quality dancing.
Smells like a certain Disney star, while an excellent dancer (with a following in the prime demo), isn’t pulling in the votes and needs a “Producer’s Save” to keep going. This is the WTF Cha-cha (thanks @LMK!) on steroids. Apparently, we voters a just too stupid to know who to keep around. 🙁
#Tony (#34) – You said that TPTB’s obsession with the younger audience is baffling… easy, really. Advertising rates are based on total overall viewers, and viewers in the “prime demographic” (18-29? 18-39? one of those two). A bigger draw in the prime demo means more revenue for the network… so it’s all about the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. 😉
