Derek Hough Sings and Dances with Emma Slater at the Cal Phil
He’s so funny. And a little nervous. 🙂 I’ve put one song and one dance below, but check PureDerekHough.com for all the coverage on this event and the one later today. You can also see a TON of amazing pictures over at Getty.
The Paso Doble with Emma
Never ceases to amaze me. this guy!Derek can sing, very well!Nuanced,sexy,lively,fresh,fun,young-from whisper to shout terrific delivery, great entertainment.Show composers put him in any musical he’ll shine both dancing, singing, acting, anything. The Prokofiev Romeo & Juliet dance with Emma was sensational!Such stage presence and power, pure elegance beyond ballroom! He changed the choreography, completely different from the Maria Menounos one.Yet he totally dominated the stage. He has as much power and charisma asBarishnikov!I loved it!
Marvelous performances from our Song and Dance Man Extraordinaire! Derek can sing for me anytime 🙂 The Paso with Emma was wonderful. Love the tightly controlled power and intensity from both of them. I would love to see them dance this on a big floor.
Was there 1st row (Yep holy cow & blessed me!) & yes, Hector he dominated that stage…that was my immediate impression. I admit it: I was spellbound by him. His facial expressions, every movement precise but not at all seeming rehearsed. He was in that Paso. The jive was his “coming out” to the audience. Extraordinary perf & FUN! Then he sang…thrilling..someone said on Twitter that he needs a one-man show on Broadway…PERFECT! 🙂
Thanks for sharing. This isn’t Gilbert Price or Sammy Davis, Jr. but Derek is a much better singer than Mark. Glad to hear him for the first time.
Can Derek stop being so perfect? No. The answer is not ever.
He’s a pretty good singer, but dancing and choreography are where he excels.
