More Post Media After The Dancing With The Stars Season 17 Premiere
Anna Trebunskaya reviewed the Dancing With The Stars premiere last night at ABC! Below is her take on these contestants. Also note that she is worried about Bill Nye the most.
Keyshawn Johnson: Cool tricks! A wonderful play on Keyshawn’s strength and very strong content. Keyshawn, you got to get out of your head and let loose! Work a bit on the posture as well and you will do you well in all the ballroom dances to come this season. Oh yeah, and listen to your teacher.
Christina Milian: A very athletic contemporary routine. She had great expression that improved through out the routine. I agree with the judges though: Christina needs to showcase more confidence in her dancing, but she’s off to a good start!
Bill Engvall: A really strong Foxtrot routine for Bill. Lots of content and confidence. Must be the fact that he rehearsed in the You Can Dance studio in Hermosa Beach, Calif., (Yes, that’s my studio and I’m shameless about plugging it in). Bill, work on your transitions and smoothness, but you’re doing fantastic!
Valerie Harper: Wow! That performance brought tears to my eyes. What a role model to anyone! She’s a stunning woman and a very elegant dancer. No other words…
Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi: Looking hot mama! Really fun Cha Cha “pocket rocket” style (to echo Len’s comment). Snooki actually had good Cha Cha technique and good rhythm. Stay focused and keep improving! You’re a natural performer.
Anna’s Take
Overall, a really good level of dancing from all the competitors. It will be very exciting to see everyone develop and improve. I’m concerned about Bill Nye. He has the lowest score from the judges, but what makes “DWTS” the show it is is the audience voting factor, so you never know! Like I said, exciting!
More at ABC. Let us know if you agree with her review.
Also, Good Morning America has posted a video recap and Melissa Rycroft weighs in on the dances too! She says this season is reminding her of the all-star season. You can watch it HERE.
Official DWTS Radio has been posting some new interviews with the cast as well. When you get time, be sure to take them in too.
Lastly, Henry of PopTVDotCom is back. He has some coverage of our pros and celebs going to a Party after the show. They tell him how it feels to be back….
DWTS is all staged and acted. It doesn’t flow. The scoring does not make any sense and is inconsistent. The judges should cool down the rheteric and commentary; as well as the host and hostess. They praise when there should be no praise and are sarcastic when it is not required. A new set of judges is needed for this show; these original three are tiresome. The host is tolerable; but the hostess is irksome and can’t ask good questions. The contestants looked like they were in a sardine can where they were sitting close to the dance floor. No room to relax with all those people around them. The commentary behind the scenes is a waste of time. Tired of the camera focusing on certain “people” in the audience; another waste of time. They went overboard with the Harper’s brain cancer. I guess the money enticed her to do this show with brain cancer. They need to show more of the ensamble dancers. They show very little of them and they can dance.
Geez Jo, is there anything at all about the show you enjoyed. What a total waste of time this must have been for you, two hours you’ll never get back.
“The host is tolerable” I gotta tell you, them’s fighting words in these parts ! In my opinion, when all else is falling apart around him, Tom always saves the day. Best host in the business, just my opinion of course.
And your comment about Valerie only dancing for the money was particularly distasteful, in my opinion, and not only shows your lack of heart, but your lack of knowledge – have you not heard anything she has been saying since the big reveal?
Geez JO.. You do have a TV remote, right?
Ditto, Sandy & Linde.
There are a lot of shows on TV I think are terrible, so u know what I do…. I don’t watch them.
Ditto from me too. Don’t watch any more if you don’t like it.
Was that Debbie Downer that posted first?
Thank you for posting the interviews Vogue.
Lol at @Linde “two hours you’ll never get back” ha.
JO:”I guess the money enticed her to do the show with brain cancer.” Really???I guess you don’t have a brain or you simply choose not to use it.
