Snooki Says The Jazz Is Her Favorite Dance So Far On Dancing With The Stars

Snooki has written a new blog at People.com. Get ready! She’s excited about her dance tonight. Read on to see why. She’s so cute and youthful. I love her energy!

Get ready for another crazy Monday night of Dancing with the Stars!! I’ve been practicing all week here in L.A., and this is my favorite dance I’ve learned so far!

Even though it is breaking my heart that I’m away from my son and family, my body feels so much better training in one spot instead of flying back and forth everywhere.

This week on the show is the “Most Memorable Year” Week, meaning all of us dancers are dancing to songs that resemble our best year. I’ve decided to pick my most memorable year in 2012, when I gave birth to my beautiful son Lorenzo.

I don’t want to give away too much about how important my son is to me, because they are putting together a great package for the audience, but it’s obvious that my son and fiancé [Jionni LaValle] mean THE WORLD to me. I cannot wait to express my feelings and excitement in this week’s dance!

We are dancing to Britney Spears’s “Work B–h”, it’s a celebration of me being a mother, a woman, a new person, and working seven days a week to provide a great life for my family!

We are dancing jazz, but it’s more a modern hip hop type jazz, and I found it very easy to learn these moves!

DWTS Season 17, Week 5 – Let’s Recap Tonight’s Show!! (SPOILERS)

Every week I’m dismayed that people STILL don’t understand how this show works. The only thing different this week is that Tom told us up front that a female celeb was the low vote getter. THAT DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY MEAN A WOMAN IS GOING HOME!!  I don’t know how many more times I can explain this. 🙂

The votes from last week AND the judges scores from tonight determine who goes home. Tom did NOT say a woman was going home, he said a woman was the low vote getter and MIGHT go home depending on the scores. All they are doing is ramping up the drama. If I were a betting woman, I would say Christina had the lowest number of votes, but they pimped and overscored her with a 28 and now someone else is going home. Like Bill or Brant. I would even bet that they low ball one of the women – Leah or Amber – for the sake of drama, and Bill or Brant still goes home.

I guess we will see soon. Discuss. 🙂

ETA: My odds are looking kinda good….

ETA2: Well, now it looks like it might be Bill or Leah…but they may still get the shocker.  Hard to say.  LOL at the package about ringers.  Some people have very short memories.

ETA3: Liz does a kinda crappy Jive, gets overscored by Len after he lowballs Amber…and then is told she’s in jeopardy. Shit just got real.  Let’s see…put Liz, Amber and Christina in jeopardy and send Christina home. I’m often wrong, but I like to play. 🙂

SPOILER Alert!!

This is where I gloat. Courtney and I have been saying for weeks that Christina and Liz were in trouble and both, along with Leah, were in jeopardy.

And Christina, with her high score of the night, was eliminated.

Discuss.

I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)

An Update On Dancing With The Stars Anna Trebunskaya’s Pregnancy And More

AnnaTrebunskayaHBOLuxury

As always, it’s good to hear from Dancing With The Stars pro Anna Trebunskaya. She gives People.com an update on her pregnancy. She may not be dancing on Dancing With The Stars because of her condition this season, but, she’s still very much out there….and working for good causes too such as Breast Cancer Awareness month. On Friday, Anna danced with breast cancer survivors and patients from the Torrance Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles for a “Bust A Move” event. Anna commented, “I think dancing is a great way to have fun, let loose and forget about your problems or sicknesses. Sometimes that’s all it takes — an hour of positive energy, having fun, music and socializing with friends.” Below is a report on her pregnancy. I love how she wants her baby to have a Russian name and an America name….

“It was not planned. It was kind of spontaneous — like everything in life. Everything happens for a reason and when that happened I was like, ‘This actually is great. This is perfect. I’m ready,’” she shares. “For the longest time I wasn’t ready, but once the decision was made, I was totally going for it.”

The Dancing with the Stars pro says although she has maintained a balanced diet throughout her pregnancy, she has also been totally indulging in sweets.

“I really loved pickles and olives during my first trimester. Now I switched to more desserts. My go-to dessert is coconut ice cream vanilla flavor,” Trebunskaya says.

As for the name? “I would love to have a Russian first name and an American-European middle name or vice-versa. This baby is going to be surrounded by my Russian culture, but I want my child to have an option,” she explains. “The baby can have a conventional name that is more appropriate in America and have a full-on Russian name.”

The expectant dancer might have an idea for her baby’s moniker, but for now, she is keeping the sex a surprise — even from herself. “I haven’t made a decision if I want to know yet, but I could find out at this point,” says Trebunskaya. “It’s a bit of a pain for my friends and my family, but I’m like, ‘No, let me get the baby gear first.’”

DWTS17 Corbin Bleu And Karina Smirnoff Write On Their New Dance Tonight

Dancing With The Stars Corbin Bleu writes that he is dancing this week’s dance to his sisters!!!

I have a very close, tight-knit family, and 2011 was a big year of change for us. So the theme for my dance this week is “The Memorable Year” – and it will be a dance that evokes a lot about my family.

In 2011, I ended up moving out, my sister went off to school, and then my other sister was diagnosed with scoliosis. It was just a big year of transition for all of us, and because there were so many obstacles getting in the way, it kind of brought us closer. So I’m dedicating my dance this week to my three sisters: Hunter, Phoenix and Jag. It’s going to be really sweet, and it’s to a beautiful song. This dance is extremely close to me, and it’s very different from what we did last week.

More at People.com including his thoughts on last week’s dance and how he’s been pushing himself that much further this week after what the judges advised.

Karina has written a new blog at People.com as well. Below is a take about how she is excited and nervous! Below is why and I can understand why she is feeling a little pressured…

I’m excited, but I’m a little nervous because it’s a bit intimidating. It’s a necessity for me to choreograph a dance that will have the feeling of inspiration and wanting to pursue your dreams, but when you dedicate it to family it puts extra pressure on the dancers so I’m a little nervous about this one.

Last week we really wanted people to see that we are not taking anything for granted and that we are not taking the easy way out. We are working hard and we are trying to get better every single time. So getting three 9’s was great, but would we have loved to have one 10? Absolutely! Who would ever say, ‘No I don’t want a 10, don’t give it to me?’ But we were excited and happy about how the dance went.

I do agree with Julianne. Corbin’s hips could have been in just a little more, but I mean, for the level of quality and technique that he produced Monday night I couldn’t have asked him to do a better job.

He went for it and he has a booty. That’s not a bad problem to have. He’s got a great booty and it’s a little extra work for him to tuck it under.

But in terms of hip-hop, I guess I understand Carrie Ann, because that’s what she’s looking for. I personally didn’t see it in this dance, but this is something he’s going to have to work through all season. He is known for dancing hip-hop and people are going to be looking for that.

Bill Engvall Chats About Dancing With The Stars And The Friends He’s Made (Audio Interview)

Bill Engvall chatted about Dancing With The Stars on the “Tony and Kris” radio show. Bill tells them that Dancing With The Stars has been fun and it’s also been “the hardest thing he’s ever done in his life.” Bill has also found out dancing is also “addicting” and the best work out. They also talked of Valerie Harper and how honored he was to meet her. He feels that way about all of the cast and the new friends he’s made. You can listen to the new interview at the “Tony and Kris” radio show. Bill is indeed all “heart” like Sandy keeps mentioning as well as too funny. Here’s to Emma and Bill tonight!!

ETA: According to People, Bill will be dancing to his wife tonight.

Bill Engvall often uses his 30-year marriage as material for his stand-up comedy, but the Dancing with the Stars contestant says his wife Gail is the secret to his success.

“She’s made me a better person than I would’ve ever have been on my own,” Engvall says in this week’s DWTS, which focuses on the theme, “Most Memorable Years.”

Engvall will commemorate 1982, the year he and Gail were married, by dancing the waltz to “She’s Always a Woman” by Billy Joel with his partner Emma Slater.

“It’s the perfect song for Gail,” he says. “Throughout our marriage, there have been times that I’ve just been lost. Like, ‘Where I’m going? What I’m doing?’ and she’s always there to say, ‘We’re gonna be fine.’ ”

DWTS Cheryl Burke Interviewed About Jack Osbourne, Their Waltz, The New Pros, And More

Awww, “Mondays” aren’t quite so bad when it’s dance time!! And for starters today, TV Guide has published a new Dancing With The Stars interview with Cheryl Burke. She talks all about partner Jack Osbourne, the judging last week, the new pros, and more. Below is a take for what Jack and Cheryl have been working on this week for their Waltz, if she thinks Jack can get a perfect score, and how he has surprised her the most so far.

What are you guys working on for this week?
Burke: We’re doing a slow waltz. So far it’s going great. It’s definitely more of an emotional dance. That’s what we’re working through. We’re just trying to get more of the emotional side without bursting out laughing. … I just want people to see… that there is a real, vulnerable person deep down inside, even though it’s hard for Jack to show that. … There’s a lot of dances we’ve done that have been great, and each number tells a story. But this number for sure is more authentic. And it’s definitely one of his best.

Do you think you and Jack could get a perfect score this season?
Burke: I don’t know. We’re just trying to maybe get a 9 soon. We’ve been getting 8s a lot, so it’d be nice to actually bump it up. … It’s not so much about the numbers of the scores, it’s about the quality of his dancing and making sure that he improves.

Which celebrity has been the most surprising to you?
Burke: Honestly, Jack. Not to be biased, but Jack has been an amazing shock to me. I had no expectations with him whatsoever, and he’s really proved to people that he is trying hard and he can actually dance.

I like Jack and this partnership much like I loved Cheryl and Rob Kardashian. I hope they have a great dance tonight!
