PureDWTS Guest Poem For DWTS Season 17 Week 8 “A Superstar Cher-abration”

PureDWTS reader Lois writes another fantastic poem. This time it’s a salute to Cher and Dancing With The Stars. Thanks Lois!!! Perfect!

MY POEM FOR WEEK EIGHT

A SUPERSTAR CHER-ABRATION!

DANCING WITH THE STARS was A SUPERSTAR CHER-ABRATON
CHER was superlative in opening, the entire cast a bright sensation

CHER took the seat of royalty, the judges welcomed her in the fold
Cheers rang out in the ballroom, sounds of a SUPERSTAR to behold

The couples were as ready as they could be for SUPERSTAR CHER
A heightened sense of excitement permeated through the ballroom air

IF I COULD TURN BACK TIME showing Derek, Amber’s Rumba beat
Bill and Emma were STRONG ENOUGH, their Disco a rocking treat

I GOT YOU BABE, Tony, Leah told CHER’s story in Viennese Waltz
Jack and Cheryl Tangoed gloriously to THE BEAT GOES ON’s pulse

Elizabeth, Val were Jazzed by CHER’s SUPERSTAR hit BANG BANG
Corbin and Karina’s Argentine Tango had a juicy BURLESQUE tang

Brant, Peta Foxtrotted to CHER’s SHOOP SHOOP with tender care
There were duo challenges still to come filling up the ballroom air

Cha-Cha-Chas were mirrored by Corbin, Karina, Elizabeth and Val
Corbin and Karina were chosen by the judges to have better style

The duos chosen for the Rumbas were Brant, Peta, Leah and Tony
The judges raised their paddles declaring Leah, Tony one and only

The Disco beat went on with Bill and Emma, and Jack and Cheryl
The winners of the challenge Jack and Cheryl gave it the best whirl

SUPERSTAR CHER serenaded the ballroom again, her voice strong
The CHER-ABRATION continued, everyone kept the beat, sang along

The time came, the elimination announcement ready to be shared
Brant, Peta had to go home, the cast gathered, showed they cared

CHER took her bows at the end of a special mystical, magical night
A SUPERSTAR CHER-ABRATION was a CHER-ABRATION delight

What will we be treated with as Week 9 is coming, within our sight
We will welcome back another rousing show next Monday night!

DWTS Peta Murgatroyd Interviewed About Her Elimination, The Judges Scoring, And Lots More

PetaBrantGMA

TV Guide has posted a new interview with Peta Murgatroyd. They ask her about she and Brant’s elimination, how she felt about Cher, and which dance she would have done differently. Below is a take for how she feels about the scoring from the judges this season, the single night format, and how this season stacked up to others. ADDING:
Also, check out Getty Images and Zimbio Pictures for some new photos of her and Brant during their press run in New York. They are fabulous! Picture above courtesy of Zimbio!

Did you feel that you were scored fairly each week?Murgatroyd: Yeah, I think the judges were amazing to us this season. We always would take on their comments positively and make sure we use them in the next week. I think they were really great for us.

How do you like the new single night format?Murgatroyd: I didn’t mind the new single night format, because it’s just jam-packed with everything that Dancing with the Stars has to offer. People don’t have to watch three hours of dancing a week. But I really do miss all the acts and performers that they would have on Tuesdays. Like when Cher came in this week, it was such a treat for us to sit there and not do a pro number or anything, and just watch a performer, instead of us performing all the time. So, that’s what I miss, having a Tuesday show to just relax and then have voting at the end.

How does this season measure up to previous seasons?
Murgatroyd: Personally, I think it’s been the toughest season because of the talent. The celebrities have been incredible this season, and I think the casting department did an amazing job. There’s such an array of different celebrities and different personalities on the show. I think I’ve made the best of friends in this season in particular with some celebrities. So I’m really happy about that.

Val Chmerkovskiy Writes About Emotions And More On Dancing With The Stars

Val Chmerkovskiy writes that all kinds of emotions tend to get the best of you at this point in the season of Dancing With The Stars which is true for he and Elizabeth Berkley. He explains more below and how they plan to have fun with this Salsa next week. They also have a Viennese waltz. Below is more….

They showed Elizabeth videotaping me in the pre-dance segment. Things got a little intense. This week was tough because we’re really getting into the competition. It’s all positive, but emotions tend to get the best of you at this point in the season. I don’t mean negative emotions, but rather any kind of emotions that you feel when you get excited or nervous or passionate about wanting to get something perfect. You need to keep your cool.

I feel like we just lost our cool a little bit this week, but, again, not in a negative way. We got a little bit too into it. We’re here together enjoying ourselves and we love what we’re doing. I tell Elizabeth to treat each week like it’s week one — don’t treat this like week eight. I say to her, “Yes, now, there’s a bigger spotlight on you, but you have nothing to lose. Just get out there and enjoy yourself.”

Next week, we have two dances, salsa and Viennese waltz. I’m not knocking this week’s song, which was “Bang, Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)” because Cher is a legend and I love that song, but it’s an intense song to dance jazz to. I’m glad that all of that is out of the way and we can have fun with the salsa. That dance is a lot of fun. The Viennese waltz is an emotional dance as well, but it’s a bit softer emotionally. It’s not so passionate and hard hitting.

You can read his full new blog at Today. He gives Emma and Bill props too.

Afterbuzz TV Breaks Down Dancing With The Stars Season 17 Week 8

AfterBuzz TV has released their post game wrap up for Dancing With The Stars Season 17 Week 8. Tyne Stecklein joins them this time. It’s interesting getting Tyne’s inside perspective about Cher since she’s worked for her in Las Vegas. Anna Trebunskaya also joins them again (who I’m seeing in a different light this season and it’s not a favorable one sad to say. I didn’t realize until this season that she had so many issues with Derek.) With that said, here ya go. Let us know what you think.

Cheryl Burke And Jack Osbourne Adding Another Hour To Dancing With The Stars Rehearsals

Cheryl Burke has written her new blog for Life & Style Magazine!! She’s over joyed to say the least about making it to another week with Jack Osbourne on Dancing With The Stars. The last time she made it this far was with Emmitt Smith. More below and at the link. She writes a little on their new dances for next week too and how they will be adding another hour to rehearsals.

The last time I made it this far in the competition was with Emmitt Smith for All Stars last year. If I told Jack that he’d make it through week nine, he probably would’ve said, “No way.” I honestly had no expectations. I didn’t think we’d make it this far, either!

What people might not know about this show is that the whole dance is learned on Tuesday. Tuesdays are all about learning the steps, so the goal is to learn your choreography that day — and to be able to leave the studio knowing the whole routine. Until the next live show, it’s just practice, practice, practice!

We have two dances next week: We’ve got a Samba trio and then we have the Viennese Waltz. For most people, learning two dances in one week might be a challenge, but I have total faith in Jack. We’ve learned so many dances already that I know he’ll be able to handle it.
