DWTS Carrie Ann Inaba Speaks Out About Brooke Burke Charvet And Erin Andrews

Carrie Ann Inaba has spoken with E Online about Dancing With The Stars letting go of Brooke Burke and hiring Erin Andrews to take her place. Like us, Carrie Ann was shocked and saddened….

“I was floored,” Inaba told me at last night’s World Gold Council and LoveGold pre-Oscar party in honor of Oscar nominee Lupita Nyong’o. “I immediately texted her to see if she was OK.”

ABC announced on Monday that Burke-Charvet is being replaced by sports reporter Erin Andrews.

“We all know this kind of stuff happens in our business and we all have to be prepared and nothing’s forever and you have to be willing to change, but it was shocking,” Inaba continued. “I’m not going to lie—I was shocked and saddened.”

And here are Carrie Ann’s thoughts about Erin…

Describing Andrews as “really tough,” Inaba said, “I think it’s going to change the vibe of the show a little bit.

“I think that when she’s asking questions she’s going to push some buttons a little bit,” she said. “I’m curious to see how that’ll work.”

I’m curious about that too? I have to admit with all of the changes now, I’m getting such a dark feeling right now? Help Everyone. 🙁

The former Rangers star has been spotted working out in preparation for the show at the New York studio of Gwyneth Paltrow’s trainer Tracy Anderson.

The move will be Avery’s latest career change after working at high-fashion ad agency Lipman, which ran out of cash and closed last year.

If true, what do you think and who do you see him dancing with?? I’m not sure who he is, but, I see can see him dancing with Sharna!!

DWTS Season 18: Rumor, Speculation and Wannabe Dancer Round Up!!

It’s time, once again, to take a look at the casting rumors we’ve seen for this upcoming season and rank them according to how likely they are to happen. I was thinking we really didn’t have many rumors for this season, but it turns out there’s more than I thought.  But there are also a lot of people saying they would LOVE to do it, which is not the same thing as a “rumor”.  And I also have NOT included who OTHER people would like to see dance – that’s not even a wannabe. Anyway, here we go….

ETA2: Lots of updates! Read our complete list below…and here’s to the Cast Announcement on Tuesday! Read more..

I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)

Erin Andrews Opens Up To People About New Hosting Gig On Dancing With The Stars

Erin Andrews tells People.com that she hopes “to bring a Cat Deeley kind of vibe and also respect all of the traditions of the ballroom” to Dancing With The Stars. She’s also been in contact with former partner Maks Chmerkovskiy about it. He told her she’s came “full circle”. More below and at the link.

Andrews will approach the ballroom interviews the same way she does for Fox Sports – “I don’t think I can do anything but be myself,” she says – even if it means ditching the jeans and flats she wears on the sidelines for more glamorous garb.

As a style role model, she looks to Cat Deeley of So You Think You Can Dance, where Andrews was once a guest judge.

“She brings a hipness. She brings a funkiness,” says Andrews. “And I also respect that there is a sort of traditional sense when it comes to the ballroom. I hope to bring a Cat Deeley kind of vibe and also respect all of the traditions of the ballroom.”

The last few weeks have been a whirlwind for Andrews, whose sideline interview during the NFL playoffs with the Seattle Seahawks’ Richard Sherman made headlines. She then plunged into Super Bowl work, while behind the scenes talking to ABC about the Dancing with the Stars job.

“When they approached me, I really didn’t even know if it was going to be possible because I’m fully committed to Fox Sports. That’s my love,” she said.

But some understanding bosses and private talks with Michael Strahan – who both co-hosts the morning show Live! With Michael and Kelly and appears on Fox Sports’ football show – showed that she could juggle both jobs.

“I feel great,” she says. “I was texting with Maksim, my old partner. He was saying, ‘Wow, it’s coming full circle for you.’ “

DWTS18 Or Future Watchout: Jaclyn Smith Would Love To Do Dancing With The Stars

Well, this might be nothing being Jaclyn Smith said she declined an offer to do Dancing With The Stars in the past because of a bone spur. However, on February 18th she tweeted, “Dance and opportunity will dance with you.” Makes one kind of wonder if she’s ok to dance now or maybe in the future? Here is more on Jaclyn’s bone spur and her thoughts on doing Dancing With The Stars from Closer Weekly in December. Thanks to KarenT for the heads up. I’d love to see her dance…but, I bet her bone spur hasn’t healed up quite yet to dance. What do you think?

Charlie’s Angels star Jaclyn Smith shares in this week’s issue of Closer Weekly her plans for upcoming projects, life after Farrah and the TV show on her bucket list.

The 68-year-old reveals she is seriously considering doing Dancing With the Stars! “They have asked me and I would love to do it!” Jaclyn, who used to be a dancer, shares in the new issue of Closer.

Unfortunately, due to an injury, she had to decline their last offer but she is open to participating sometime down the road.

“I had a bone spur removed from my foot and I’m having a little trouble. It would be a perfect fit given I come from that background, but my standards are very high and I would want to do it right!”

According to Just Jared. Jr., Cody Simpson is still in talks to do Dancing With The Stars. Below is more…

“We haven’t confirmed anything,” Cody told JJJ. “We’re still talking about it, and I’m still trying to get opinions and figure out if I should do it. But it’s a cool opportunity, so we’ll see where it goes.”

If he does accept the offer, Cody says he’s pretty confident in his abilities. “I dance on stage all the time, so I don’t know how I’d do as far as ballroom and stuff, but hopefully I would get some practice in and it would be good for me.”
