Sharna Burgess And Charlie White Interviewed By Good Day LA About DWTS And More
Awwww, I just love these two.

Really interesting interview; they (the hosts) brought up that Charlie and Meryl had worked with Derek, and Charlie mentioned that they didn’t learn any steps from him; they just learned things that would translate directly to the ice. Given some of the comments in other interviews with other couples (for instance, the latest AH with Danica and Val), it seems some people mistakenly think that Derek trained them (vs *choreographed* them). It’s amazing how dense some people can be when they’ve already determined how the story is supposed to go…
These people don’t practice any critical thinking at all, ButterflyWhirl. They hear something and regurgitate as if it were gospel, barely giving any thought to other possibilities. Then they get mad when people do the same to them. It’s very annoying.
And that’s what makes the whole part involving Danika and that NOTHING is being said, so annoying. There is all this uproar about Meryl + Charlie who just got some conceptual basics to add elements of ballroom TO THEIR SKATING but Danika has had YEARS of actual full-on ballroom training. And I think there is quite a bit of backlash towards M&C already while Danika & Val dumb down her technique here in the early weeks when she has no shot at being in danger while the ringer label keeps getting pounded about M and C. There is plenty of manipulation, diverting attention to other things and power of suggestion being employed by the show already in week one. And Heidi is right, people hear something and often just jump to a conclusion. I think this season could be pretty dicey and unpredictable even in the first weeks. It makes me concerned for some of the “middling” couples who really want to be there and deserve a chance, getting eliminated way too early.
