Does Derek Hough Know If He’s Dancing On Dancing With The Stars? What About His Partner?
A couple of interesting interviews with Derek Hough today. First, he was interviewed by Ryan Seacrest. Regarding Dancing With The Stars, he said he didn’t know if he’s coming back, but, the season is going to be different and exciting (same as what he’s said in previous interviews). KTLA also interviewed Derek today. They mention how they will “very likely find out who Derek is paired up a little later this week”. He’s “not revealing” who it is, but, they “think he knows”. Check out how Derek doesn’t deny anything and the way he signs off with his hand at the end. Not sure how to take that, but, it’s I-N-T-E-R-E-S-T-I-N-G!!!
To me, the KTLA interview says that he’ll be back on Season 19. He didn’t deny what the interviewer said and I think he had time to say he’s decided to skip this season. He raised his eyebrows in a ‘shocked’ look of surprise. Like..who’s it gonna be?
Guess we’ll find out for sure on Wednesday!
I hope Derek will be back cos he’s my fave!! I’m also excited about the celeb cast. There weren’t many rumours so far, were there?
I hope Derek isn’t a pro this upcoming season… I feel like his journey with Amy was a fantastic one to end on. Even if they didn’t win the MBT, he still took a woman with no legs to the final 2, and made her an excellent dancer. I can’t think of anything more inspirational than that for another season yet.
It’d be great to see him as a Creative Director as some people have said, though.
Derek brings so much to DWTS. Part of me wants Derek to be a pro and the other part wants Derek there in another capacity such as Macy’s only. I think I could still be peeved with the way Derek and Amy were scored last season while it was all about Maks and Meryl who could do no wrong. Derek deserves his own show! No matter what Derek does, he will always be my favorite.
I think we see what we want to see. I hope he’s doing Macy’s only.
I thought Derek and Amy’s scores were fine – it’s just that Meryl and Maks were routinely overscored. If Derek had done some of that choreo he would have been given 7s and 8s, from Len at least. But it’s been clear for a while that Derek is held to a higher standard.
I had a dream last night about Wednesday’s GMA annoucement…lol In it, Derek announced that he was NOT competing as a Pro but would still be the Creative Director for the Macy’s Stars of Dance performances.
Ok, that just made my day! Maybe I’m overreacting and I’m seeing what I what to see, but I think that Derek will be back this season!!! Yaaaaaaay! So happy right now! 😀
There is no other platform that will give Derek ability to show as much of his choreography than being a pro on DWTS. Macy’s work is great, but it is not as frequent.
I think this why Derek keeps coming back, to be able to choreograph and have it seen by million of people every week, there is just no other opportunity like that. He loves to dance and choreograph and share it with the world.
Dancing and choreographing is not his job – it is his way of life, DWTS is the best showcase for it.
Anyway, this is my opinion. I am not going to be surprised if he comes back.
