Appreciating The Opening Number For DWTS Season 19 Week 2
We posted on some of the other dances this week on Dancing With The Stars in appreciating them, but, what about Monday night’s opening number? Seeing the judges dance was so cool. Carrie Ann looked hot out there (and check out those heels! 😀 ). And how about the Karina Smirnoff lift by Tony?
Thank you for this! I’ve been looking for it. That lift of Karina’s was amazing.
That lift!! KUdos to Tony and Karina.
I’ll 3rd it: That Lift!
You guys are the best, giving us so much to watch, talk and think about all through the week. Thanks!
YW and THANK YOU!!! 😉
Wow, thank you for this video! Tony lifting Karina so masterfully was really beautiful. Now if only he had been the one to lift poor Julianne in her pro number instead of that train wreck attempt of Val’s, it would have gone smoothly because Tony is really a consistent and dependable lifter, imo.
This right here is proof why Tony should teach a lifting masterclass for all the male pros on the show – he doesn’t falter at all. New rule: no male pro is allowed to do any lifts until they’ve spent at least a week under Tony’s tutelage (looking at YOU, Val 😯 )
+1^^ I’m not a big fan of Tony, but, hey, he’s a champion when it comes to lifts.
Yes, that lift by Tony and Karina was really terrific! I think Tony is doing a great job with Betsy – charming, relaxed, and funny. This is the Tony that I really liked for many seasons. I really think that he is at his best when he is relaxed and having fun and not getting pulled into any drama. That is true for all the pros.
#6 Court: agree! But what I can’t understand is WHY after Val dropped Julianne hard in rehearsal, did she not, for the sake of safety, go with Tony or Derek for that lift. Why take the risk on live TV that Val might screw it up again? Seriously, I just don’t get it. AT. ALL. Thank god, Julianne salvaged the mess with Val and made it safely to the floor in one piece.
I don’t understand why Val messed up, even in rehearsal. I guess we will never know if there was some hidden agenda beneath it. I really don’t want to go there, but this might not be so innocent as people think. (He and his brother are very close). If Val had trouble with it in rehearsal, I don’t know why another male pro wasn’t given that maneuver. Did anyone noticed how Tony came up to Julianne and put his hands on her shoulders like to show concern. He might work in the C. brother’s dance studio, but he has a side to him that they don’t possess.
Artem, Tony or Mark would have done that maneuver spot on.
