Witney Carson Interviewed About The Dancing With The Stars Live Tour, DWTS, And More

I’m back and many many thanks to Angels, Miss Heidi and Lori, for having my back these last few days! My goodness. That flu bug is just awful and something I hope none of you experience. If you do, be sure to drink lots of fluids and get lots of rest.

So, onto some more news….
Utah fans are looking forward to Witney Carson returning home next week for the Dancing With The Stars Live Tour. The Salt Lake Tribune has a great piece on it along with an interview. Below Witney talks on what it’s like to do Dancing With The Stars versus touring in the show.

“Really, just to be on the show was a huge thing for me,” Carson said. “I never thought in a million years that I would win it.”

Dancing with stars presents a challenge unlike any other for a professional dancer.

“It’s completely different because you have to not only worry about yourself, but you have to worry about a celebrity who has no idea of dance,” Carson said. “So you have to be able to teach them and teach them in the right way. And you have to be kind of like a mentor for them because they are so uncomfortable. They’re putting themselves out there and you have to kind of be their support system and get them through this long journey. There’s a lot of work that comes into it.”

The tour, which stops at the Maverik Center in West Valley City on Thursday, is also “completely different” from the TV show.

“It’s just all of us dancing together and not having, really, a lot of stress,” Carson said. “We don’t have to worry about a celebrity partner. It’s more just having a great time and just doing what we love and sharing it with everyone.”

And live like rock stars, right down to having their own “little bunks in our bus that we travel around on.”

A little less glamorous than you might think.

“Trust me, a lot of this career is not a lot of glamour,” Carson said. “People look at it like it’s so glamorous, but it’s a lot of hard work.”

Dancing with the Stars Julianne Hough out and about and in a magazine

First, our dear sweet Vogue has been felled by the flu, so please send some healing thoughts her way, so she can fully recover ASAP!

Our newest judge, Julianne, has been busy shopping in LA over the last few days. Since at least one of the photos was a furniture store, I’m starting to think that her house is FINALLY almost done? Or, at least almost done enough that she can move out of Derek’s place before he returns to LA?

Anyway, she’s looking cute and very casual in the Daily Mail here.

Also – Daily Mail ETA: Fixed it. ~Heidi

Sorry, let’s hope Vogue is feeling better fast, because I can’t figure out how to fix this formatting so you don’t have to look at the link!

Daily Mail is one of those sites that seem to only employ people who failed out of creative writing classes at college, and are determined to prove to their professors that they CAN be good creative writers. But at least the photos are nice!

And lastly, Julianne is now a monthly contributor to Byrdie magazine, and THIS is her first column!

WGNO in New Orleans Talks to the DWTS Tour Cast

Everyone give a “get well” shout out to Vogue – she’s down with the flu. 🙁 Which is why you may have noticed a bit of a slow down in media. She’s the queen, I’m a mere surf. Or Princess. 🙂

Anyway, Emma says the pros find out soon if they’re on or not. Witney and Alfonso talk about how they won and more!

I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)

DWTS Season 20 Casting Rumor – Roseanne Barr??

I saw this one thanks to @DWTSGossip – I’ve not had time to do my usual twitter scan the last two days. 🙂 So what say you all? Rosanne?? I say: why not?? You may remember that she was rumored way back in Season 13 – has she had that hip replacement?

And what do you call a rumor when it’s started by the object of the rumor??

DWTS20 Watchout: Kenya Moore Would “Absolutely” Do Dancing With The Stars

Just a little something to watch out for just in case. The Souix City Journal is reporting Kenya Moore of Celebrity Apprentice would “absolutely” do Dancing With The Stars. Here is a take from the link…

Rivera says the key to competing on “Apprentice” is to ignore editing and shrug off complaints. “People will work against you. It’s just the nature of the beast.”

Raising money for charity, he says, is most important.

“I don’t know if I’d do another reality show after this.”

“Dancing With the Stars” has asked him repeatedly and he has said no.

Moore, however, says she’d be game for a “Stars” run. “I’m an amazing dancer,” she says. “I was trained from the age of 6. I would absolutely do it and, yes, I would want to win. In everything I do, I play to win.”

So, what do you think? Would she be a good one? Let us know in comments!!
