Dancing With the Stars Karina Smirnoff to Co-Star in ‘Tango Shalom’, Production Begins Next Month

Awww, this is such good news for Karina Smirnoff. According to The Wrap, the Dancing With The Stars pro is slated to be in a new iddie comedy called “Tango Shalom”. Production starts in July.

Karina Smirnoff of “Dancing With the Stars” is set to co-star in the indie comedy “Tango Shalom,” TheWrap has learned.

Gabriel Bologna is directing from a script by Joseph Bologna and Claudio Laniado. The writers are also part of the ensemble, which also includes Lainie Kazan and Renee Taylor.

Jos Laniado stars as Moshe, a Hasidic Jew who receives a cryptic message from God to dance the tango, after which he struggles with his beliefs, his family and his community.

Smirnoff will play Viviana, a pretty tango instructor who oozes sensuality. The role is a strong fit for Smirnoff, who is a professional ballroom dancer.

“Tango Shalom” is slated to start production next month in New York.

More at The Wrap. So, does this mean she’ll be out as a Pro for Dancing With The Stars season 21? I hope not.

Dancing With The Stars Sasha Farber Never Expected To Feel Like A Rock Star – New DWTS Live Tour Interview

Sasha Farber was interviewed by PennLive.com. He talks of why everyone should see the new Dancing With The Stars Live Tour. He also never expected to feel like a “rock star”. So cute. Read on….

“This is the perfect things for the fans in between the seasons,” Farber said of the live performance. “And if it wasn’t for the fans, this show wouldn’t be happening. We get to interact with the fans and bring them up on stage and it’s really, really rewarding for us.”

“The appreciation and support you get is so amazing,” he continued. “Before the show, you can even hear them screaming and stomping.

“You really do feel like you’re a rock star. Being a ballroom dancer, you would never expect that.”

The show features numerous dance numbers, including an all-gentleman dance that Farber declared was his favorite (although he wouldn’t give any more details). Rumer Willis, last season’s winner, will also be dancing and singing.

“This show is designed and built for fans,” Farber said. “They’re going to walk in and walk out dancing.”

“Just the energy we all create amongst each other is really something people will love to watch,” Farber added later. “We take some of the fan favorites that we’ve had in the show and tweaked them to make sure they’re working for the stage.”

The show is also a chance to see the pros at their best. “We’re not dancing with a celebrity here, we’re doing what we love to do,” Farber said.

Derek Hough Likely Back for DWTS Season 21

He’s breaking my heart here. He’s amazing for letting things roll off his back. Or perhaps he knows the manipulation and other crap but finds that to be less important than working with celebs and teaching them to dance. From News-Press.com:

As for “Dancing with the Stars,” Hough expects he’ll be returning next season to judge or to foxtrot with more fleet-footed celebrities.

“It’s likely next season,” he says. “I think I have one more left on my contract. We’ll see.”

He hopes it happens.

“I love the show,” he says. “The show’s amazing. I love every part of it… There’s really nothing like it.

“For me, as long as I have ideas and things to do on the show, I want to be a part of it.”

Derek says he’s loved meeting people and dancing with them on the hit ABC show.

“They’ve all impressed me, and they’ve all been fantastic,” he says. “But there have been some special ones, some special moments. You know, it’s just one of those moments where I look back and go, ‘Oh, wow, I can’t believe I did that!’

“It’s like with Kellie Pickler, when I did the freestyle with her (in 2013). It was just a special moment.”

Then again, he says, the show is full of special moments — including the sheer joy of teaching somebody how to dance.

“Any teacher can tell you that,” he says. “They’re nothing like showing somebody something and seeing that light go on in their eyes when they realize they can do it.

“When you’re giving and you’re sharing, it’s an amazing, fulfilling feeling. It’s great. It’s a wonderful thing.”

I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)
