DWTS’ Rumer Willis to Play Roxie Hart on Broadway
Well done, Rumer!! From The Hollywood Reporter:
The actress and ‘Dancing with the Stars’ champ will make her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart, just before her father’s play begins previews this fall.
Rumer Willis is bound for Broadway.
The actress and Dancing with the Stars champ will make her Broadway debut in Chicago this fall. Her limited eight-week engagement at the Ambassador Theatre begins Aug. 18 and runs through Oct. 11.
Very cool! Kinda want to see that show with her in it.
Good for her! Glad to see that DWTS gave her confidence & opportunities. You’re on Broadway Rumer, you got the last laugh on all those bullies. Enjoy your run.
So proud of Rumer! Good luck ..:)
So very happy for Rumer. I think she’ll make a fantastic Roxie and I need to get tickets!!
hopefully she’s a better Broadway Actress than the One-Note star she shone on DWTS :/
That was hardly her fault, Kelly. The choreographer is responsible for the rather flat season where everything was the same color.
Her stint on dwts is actually what got her the gig. A friend of the casting director (Duncan Stewart) saw her on a few episodes, and recommended her to him after thinking she would make the perfect Roxie.
Sure she would – she played that same character every week. Great for Roxie, but not so great for a great body of work on DWTS.
She has a voice & could’ve used it to express thoughts in showing her softer side.
That’s not how this works. Never has been. You have to be able to trust the professional that has done the show for several seasons…and who has, in fact, done a better job than he has the past two seasons when he apparently decided that emulating Maks was the way to go.
