Bindi Irwin Talks About Her New Gig On Dancing With The Stars – Interviews
Bindi Irwin told People she is “absolutely thrilled” to be dancing on Dancing With The Stars. Read on for more….
“I am absolutely thrilled. I can’t tell you how excited I am,” the daughter of the late Steve Irwin tells PEOPLE. “I think that it is going to be a truly unbelievable new experience. I can’t wait to see what is to come.”
Just days before flying to Los Angeles to begin preparing for the upcoming season, Irwin, who recently turned 17, says she was out on her family’s annual trip to the Steve Erwin Wildlife Preserve, where they spend “a month studying crocodiles to see where they go and what they get up to.”
“The contrast will be huge,” she says of shifting gears from the wilderness to the dance floor. “I’m a little scared but we will see what happens.”

ETA2: Bindi also chatted with E Online about Doing Dancing With The Stars. Be sure to see the link for more about her.
“I’m really, really excited and so honored to be a part of this new journey and new chapter of my life,” she said on GMA. “I have to tell you, this is completely different to anything I have ever done in my life. I’m used to wrangling crocodiles!”
Bindi currently resides with her mother Terri and brother Robert on the grounds of the Australia Zoo, but she will relocate to Los Angeles for DWTS. Her mom and brother will be by her side.
With the new journey comes some new looks.
“I’m used to khaki and boots and I think it will always be a part of my life,” she said. “We always say khaki just isn’t a color, it’s an attitude; it’s a part of who we are. You can’t just climb a tree or wrangle a snake in a dress very easily, so this is completely different. For me, Dancing With the Stars has always been something I’ve admired.” Bindi said she wants to inspire others to take a leap into the unknown with her stint on DWTS.
Bindi admitted she has “no dance experience at all.” “My family’s not known for dancing,” she said.
“The judges scare me more than crocodiles,” Bindi admitted, also noting her dance partner should be patient and like animals.

ETA3: A fun video from E Online..
I am so, so excited about Bindi being on the show!! I have no idea if she can actually dance but I’m thrilled nonetheless!! Go Bindi!!
This should be interesting. I am surprised that she has not been on the Australian version of DWTS before. But at least the US version gives her more exposure. Don’t know how wells he can dance, but hope she is on for a few weeks at least.
Forgot to add that I bet Mark gets her. He always gets the teenagers. I wonder if he is getting really tired of that. Not very fair to Mark.
I am THRILLED that Bindi is going to be on DWTS!! I’ve been a fan of her dad’s (though I didn’t share his passion for crocodiles) and have loved their little family ever since his fame exploded onto the US scene. When she was little, there wasn’t a more adorable and mannerly kid on the planet than Bindi. I just hope and pray, she gets a kind and patient pro, if you know what I mean. Oh, how I wish it were Derek, but I know that’s unlikely. Anyway, this season just became exciting for me!
I’m looking forward to seeing how Bindi does on the dance floor. She’s a lovely young lady. I’m sure she’ll be a good student and a hard worker. Hope she has some natural coordination and rhythm.
