Allison Holker Previews Dancing With The Stars Week 2 With Andy Grammer
Allison Holker has written a new blog on her and Andy Grammer’s second week on Dancing With The Stars at Just Jared Jr. I think these dances could not be more fitting for each of them. What do you think….
This week, because of having 2 dances, I wanted the dynamic to be very different between the two. So, our first dance is a Jive based on Andy [Grammer] growing up in New York and our second routine is a contemporary that I am dedicating to my husband tWitch, daughter Weslie, and my entire family.
They mean the world to me and have been supportive of my dreams and lifestyle every step of the way. It wasn’t an easy choice for me, being a single mother and moving to LA to pursue my dancing dreams, but my mother Nikki assured me that LOS ANGELES NEEDED ME, and I can never thank her enough for those words.
My mother has inspired me and encouraged me my whole life to do what I love, and now I hope to be an example to my daughter that she can truly live her dreams. So to my family, none of this would be possible without you. I love you guys with all my heart and I’m so grateful for your endless support! This one is dedicated to you!

soooo sweet brought tears to my eyes. Each year I seem to appreciate and enjoy Allison more and more 🙂
Allison has 2 dances that she can show her stuff and choreograph a great dance for Andy and I think he will do really well. As a musician, rhythm and timing is on his side. So sweet of Allison to dedicate the 2nd dance to her mom and family.
What I love about Allison is her attitude and no-drama approach. She’s not in any of the so-called “pro factions” (although she and Derek are amazing together) and she works really hard. On the most recent Afterbuzz, they discussed how much time she’s been spending trying to refine her ballroom and I honestly love her fresh takes on things – sometimes it’s not always to my liking, but I can’t deny that there’s a lot of potential there and I think she’s a perfect candidate for the hybridization of the dance styles – this not being a strictly ballroom show anymore and not a proper dance competition (and I’m all for that).
