Alexa And Carlos PenaVega Write about Last Night’s Dances On Dancing With The Stars

The PenaVega’s are happy they tied for second place on Dancing With The Stars last night, but, they know that they need the fans votes to determine the real outcome tonight. Here is more from People in their new blog.

Alexa’s take:
It was sad to see Chaka Khan go home. And another person goes home tonight. Both Carlos and I scored 24 out of 30 on Monday, and we’re tied for second place, but you never now how people are going to vote at home. I try not to think too much of that and just try and have fun and work as hard as I can.

After the show last night, I asked if Mark and I could get some rehearsal space for the night, but they were all closed. But Mark made a tape of our rehearsal so I still got some practice in on my own. And then we are going to rehearse together as much as we can today. So, I feel good about going into tonight’s show!

Carlos’ Take:
The best part about Monday night was getting to honor my dad with my Hometown Glory song. My dad has always wanted to be on TV, so I think he was super stoked about it. I really hope that he watched it and loved it.

The foxtrot was a hard, hard, hard dance for me to learn. I work a lot better with the up-tempo numbers. The slow ones take a little more effort for me. [My partner, Witney Carson,] had to keep reminding me to breathe on Monday. “Breathe into the floor,” she’d tell me. But it worked out, and I’m just so glad to be for another show.

I’m happy Alexa and I tied last night, but I thought she did incredible. I think she deserved 10s from the judges.

I hope she and I both make it all the way to the finale. I definitely want to win, but I want her to be my competition all the way to the finish line.

When Witney and I started rehearsing our two dances for this week, I thought the cha-cha was going to be my stronger dance, but it’s not. I actual felt more confident about Monday’s foxtrot. After the show last night, I asked Witney if we could just go outside the television studio so we could run our dance for tonight a couple of times since we couldn’t get a rehearsal space for the night.

The one good thing going into tonight is that I feel a lot more confident knowing we just have to focus on this one dance. And then, if we get past tomorrow night, we have a whole week to prepare for the next dance. I think we can do it, and I’m looking forward to having fun tonight!
