Adrianne Haslet Davis Instagram 4
“You realize what kind of life you lived, and that flashes before you, and then you realize what kind of life that you want to live after.” ~Adrianne Haslet Davis

What a huge honor to be able to interview Boston Bombing Survivor Adrianne Haslet Davis. But, Adrianne is much more than a survivor. I think some people are angels on earth and that is Adrianne Haslet Davis to me. With her strength, courage, determination, and love she has come full circle and has a message for millions. She’s now “re-defining the finish line” in more ways than one. Read on to read our Exclusive interview to see why…..and don’t forget to tune into the Boston Marathon on April 18th to see Adrianne run for the first time since the 2013 terror attacks. Also, let’s hope Dancing With The Stars asks Adrianne back to the show to do a special performance and follow up. Wouldn’t that be awesome? With that said, thank you to Adrianne for her beautiful self and her time. Also, thanks to those who submitted questions. A special thanks to Cathy as well for assisting me. ~Vogue x

Vogue: Hi Adrianne! What an honor it is to be able talk with you. I’ve been a long time fan and have been watching your progress since the Boston Bombings! What an angel you are who has come full circle. You have become a huge inspiration and beacon of light for others through this awful tragedy. Through it all, you’ve turned it inside out and not let it or the terrorists beat you. How have you been able to overcome everything and maintain such a beautiful outlook, love, and passion for people? Not only that, you haven’t let anything stop you from dancing or running.

The biggest motivation keeping me going is knowing how far I have come, yet also how real the struggle was to get here. I never want to portray that I have overcome everything, because I feel like my recovery is an ongoing forever process. We all evolve and change, and my love and passion for people is a direct connection with that. I am motivated by the struggle to keep going even when we feel like pulling our head under the covers. Life is tough but that is what makes it Read more..

PureDWTS Season 22, Week 3 – An Update on Mark Ballas

As we mentioned yesterday, Mark was seen around the rehearsal studio yesterday, which seems to indicate that he is still very much in the competition this season.  Now we have a bit more behind-the-scenes info to share…

…according to a source, Mark is still injured, and given the nature of the injury, it seems potentially serious (I’m guessing they’ll share his diagnosis in the package on Monday). Mark is currently trying to rest his back as a result. HOWEVER, Mark has every intention of dancing with Paige on Monday if he’s able, and is still very much Paige’s partner.  Alan & Hayley have both been assisting them during rehearsals for their paso doble, but Mark is running the show – his concept, his choreography.  From the impression I got – the situation is still very up-in-the-air, but Mark is determined to dance.

I think the captions on the Instagram picture of Paige & Alan he posted on Tuesday very clearly indicate that he intends to remain Paige’s partner this season:

So what do I make of this? Well I think all the Alan fans that seem to be creeping out of the woodwork, hoping that Mark will “give Alan a shot at being a pro” need to slow their roll quite a bit, because I don’t think Mark has any intention of giving Paige up without a fight – and rightfully so.  I remember Deep Throat telling me how absolutely THRILLED Mark was to get Paige as a partner this season – he’d been hoping she’d get a shot on the show for awhile, and I’d even go so far as to guess that she was probably one of his “dream partners”. And Paige has got a great work ethic and a lot of talent – talent that I think is best harnessed by a seasoned pro with two MBT’s and a lot of choreography experience under his belt, and NOT a completely green, un-battle-tested newb from the troupe. This is quite possibly the most competitive season we’ve ever seen, kids – and if Paige wants a fighting chance (no pun intended) of lasting this season, Mark is her best bet.  If anything, I think the rest of the pros this season would mop the floor with Alan, experience-wise, if he were suddenly to become Paige’s full-time partner – and the resulting failure could potentially torpedo any future shots at being a pro that he might have…think about it.  This is quite possibly the WORST season to come in as a rookie pro and try to prove yourself…so why would you want to subject him to that? So you can watch him gyrate around with his shirt open and a dopey grin on his face? 🙂

Anyway, I wish Mark the speediest and most painless of recoveries, and I’ve got my fingers crossed he gets to dance with Paige on Monday 😉

ETA: Vogue here. Paige was on KTLA today. She talked on Dancing With The Stars and the accident with Mark last week. She also gives a report on Mark and says he’s still trying to find out what’s wrong with him (like Court reported). Right now she’s rehearsing with both Alan and Mark and isn’t sure what will happen on Monday night. More below…

Carrie Ann Inaba Weighs In On The Four Stand Out Dances On DWTS Week 2 And More

Carrie Ann Inaba wrote on her four stand out dances on Dancing With The Stars Week 2 at Access Hollywood. She also gave advise for the dancers which you can read below. Also, did you know her Mom was there? Be sure to see the link for pictures and more of her thoughts. And what a beautiful dress she wore this week.

This week, my general advice is for everyone to focus on technique. There are a lot of contestants in the middle of the pack, and I see potential in all of them to shoot out of the pack to the front, but they have to work on technique and deliver dynamic performances. That means they need to find their secret weapon. What are they great at and expand on it. They need to let go of their fears and trust their partners 100%. They need to dance beyond what they think they can, pushing each movement to its fullest potential. This season we have better dancers than usual, and that makes for stiffer competition. In order to shine, they will need to find their unique style and then master the techniques of each dance. I would advise to keep some traditional steps and choreography in each dance to keep Len happy because he’s back and he wants his ballroom.
