DWTS Karina Smirnoff And Doug Flutie Dance And Attend The Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation Autism Gala
Awww, isn’t this a fun photo below of Dancing With The Stars Karina Smirnoff and Doug Flutie? Last night in Boston, they honored Doug’s parents with their waltz from last week’s show night at The Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism’s Night to Shine gala at Gillette Stadium. More below from the Boston Herald. See the link to read more.
The BC football hero announced a new Autism on the Go campaign to raise funds for the foundation’s active lifestyle program, inspired by his parents, who were dedicated to their three kids’ interests and activities.
Flutie wept after his emotional “Dancing” performance last week, which he dedicated to his parents, who died within minutes of each other last fall. He said his late mom would have been “shocked … proud and surprised” by his waltz.
“My mom loved this show and lived for dancing. I think, especially for me, to be here doing this on ‘Dancing With the Stars,’ she knows how far out of my comfort zone it is,” Flutie told our Left Coast correspondent.
Flutie said he still struggles “on a daily basis” to understand how he lost both parents on the same day.

Awesome to see them out & about for such a great cause. Karina looks beautiful, of course! Can’t wait to see them dance again:)
I’m so glad these two were paired together. Karina has the emotional depth to understand and appreciate Doug and the professional experience to help him be the best he can be on DWTS. Conversely, I’m sure Doug see what a wonderful, talented person and teacher Karina is and gives her the respect she deserves.
Can I just say that Doug is one of my favs but definitely the only footballer on the show I like. And he’s over 50 unlike the two current ones who are on tv every week.
