Dancing With The Stars Jodie Sweetin Writes On Switch Up Week With Val Chmerkovskiy

Jodie Sweetin has written a new blog for People. She writes of what it’s been like to work with Val Chmerkovskiy for Switch up week. It’s been a lot different than working with Keo Motsepe for how he’s pushing her. More below including some thoughts on the Paso Doble.

ETA: Special Note….she writes that no one goes home this week!

And working with Val is a lot different than working with Keo. They’re both great teachers, but Val is a lot quicker to point out something needs to be improved. He doesn’t sugarcoat things. If he thinks something was good but could have been better, he’s going to let you know.

It’s been an adjustment to working with someone new, but I’ve been enjoying the challenge. Val is pushing me, but I’d like to think I’m rising to the challenge.

This week, we’re dancing a paso doble. It’s a fighting dance, so Val has spent a lot of time trying to get me to embrace an aggressiveness that I usually don’t have in my daily life.

Tapping into that side of me hasn’t been easy, but it’s been a good reminder that we’re not just dancing out on that ballroom floor – we’re also acting.

And just because we aren’t dancing together tonight doesn’t mean Keo and I haven’t been talking. We FaceTime and talk every day. It’s been great kind of having two teachers this week and knowing that Keo still has my back when I need a familiar friend.

I can’t wait to get out on that dance floor tonight with Val, but I’m also looking forward to having Keo back with me in the rehearsal room after.
