Derek and Julianne Hough, Paula Abdul, Vanessa Hudgens and More Team UP – “Dancers Against Cancer”
This is a great cause, with some great people supporting it! Dancers Against Cancer is:
…a non-profit organization which provides financial support to dance educators, dancers and parents impacted by cancer, the entertainers filmed a PSA with dancers Ruby Kaufman, Chloe Frank and Ahna Rasmussen, and are using their star power to raise awareness leading up to the charity’s Industry Dance Awards in August.
If you would like to support this organization head over to “I’m a Dancer Against Cancer”. You can also read more and see photographs of the dancers at People.com.
PH, Thanks for shining a spotlight on this worthwhile cause. The mega organizations do valuable work on a macro level, but I feel there’s a big need for smaller, targeted efforts that provide much needed support to individuals on a personal level.
Thank you for posting this PHeidi. Good to see Derek and Julianne devoting their time and talents to a good cause.
This is a great cause and I’m glad to see some big celebs behind it. I know the big charities like the American cancer society and stand up to cancer tend to be the first ones people think of but this should be right up there as well. Personally my family donates to one of them (not sure which one becuase my mom who is a breast cancer survivor does that one) but I’m going to send her the link so maybe this could join the list. Personally I have donated to the Michael j fox foundation and a couple of others every summer (just a dollar a day or whatever I throw in the r2d2 piggybank that day and eight towards the end of August donate the money to a couple of charities ….used to go to the people taking the donations at the local hospital that used to be there but now it’s a check lol…).I’m going to split it now between that and this charity and the muscular distrophy association.
Vin, I love the way you save up for your donations. That’s all it takes, a bit of change every day into the R2D2 piggybank — it adds up!
@cidra: ain’t that the truth. Last year I had a little over one thousand dollars in there.
