Like the idea of the America is the 4th judge thing but I keep remembering last time and that was a lot of technical issues there.
It’s also only the Eastern Time Zone voting, which conveniently or not depending on your perspective, includes Pittsburgh, home of Antonio’s Steelers.
That’s an interesting point. I’m wondering if this is just to ensure Antonio stays one more week and someone else goes home.
Ugh, I truly dislike this “America as 4th Judge” concept.
Setting aside who benefits, I just don’t like it when the producers set up a viewer participation activity in which only part of the country can participate. It’s bogus as hell.
If they feel they need that third score for the duo dances (since a judge can’t vote on their own team), have the studio audience provide the 3rd score. To me that would be much more equitable.
Wait, did I hear it right that the judges are choreographing? They dont usually do that on judge’s week, do they? Because how in the heck can Carrie Ann or Bruno choreograph a ballroom dance when they dont know how to dance it?

If it’s true about the judges choreographing….they better know how! After all, they sit at the judges table and every season judging the Pros on their choreography and pushing the celeb if they do not like some of it in the dance. Their votes count for HALF of the couples score each week, so I’d say they better know how!! I always though in the past that the Pro puts the choreography together, and the designated judge works with the celeb on the moves as the couple rehearses.

I agree that it isn’t really fair to do the 3rd judges score by letting it up to the TV viewers, which can only be the eastern U.S. because of the time zone. You probably are right about Steeler nation being in the east, because PA, W.V. & N.J. are big supporters. I think TPTB should have arranged for a guest judge this week (not Maks) so there would have been at least 3 judges at the table for the Judges Pick Duo dance. This is just like when they do a Twitter voting; some of the viewers don’t even do Twitter so how can it be fair to all viewers.
Ok, now this is just my opinion, but there’s a very easy fix to America voting. I should be more precise and say the Eastern time zone, to portions of the Midwest, getting to vote. The fix: remember how the show use to be on two nights. Why oh why not let all of America vote, and have a Tuesday show? Simple. Or am I not taking something into account? What is wrong with my “fix”? I truly would like to hear what I’m missing with my answer to the problem.
Now, I also wonder what happens if you follow along online, with the usually foursome, Kim Johnson and the guy, whose name I completely forget. You wouldn’t actually be able to see the dance well enough to give a true score. But what would stop you from phoning in your score, for your favorite dancer, and scoring them a ten? Or for that matter, giving sixes to someone you might dislike? I know you would be blocked from actually phoning in your score, because they will not allow area codes outside the Eastern time zone to go through. But what stops you from doing it online? And what about those people who live in the East, but have their cell phones registered in the Midwest to West? Again, I call bullsh*t on tonight’s America’s vote.
Am interested in hearing what I’m not seeing that would make this fix the issue at hand. And with that said, let’s hope for a great show all around. ENJOY!!!
OK. Trying to keep it very simple:
1. The ‘vote’ is for the score they’re given, at the time of the dance, just like the other judges give their scores, at the time of the dance.
2. It’s not done online, only by phone.
