PureDWTS Season 22 Week 8 Media, Scores, And Interviews After The Dances

What a great night of dancing. I loved all the dances in different ways again! Also, the Judges Team dances are now one of my favorites. Incredible! More on that in Courtney’s new Power Ranking post coming up. 😉 As for Keo and Jodie’s elimination, it was was sad, but, I’m always going to remember her for her great drive and will to do well. I always loved her facial expressions and how she got into each character from the beginning. I loved their P!nk dance the most from them all.

So, let’s review the scores again for starters….

Jodie Sweetin & Keo Motsepe (Jive) 10-10-10 for a total of 30. (eliminated)
Ginger Zee & Valentin Chmerkovskiy (Argentine Tango) 10-10-10 for a Total of 30.
Nyle DiMarco & Peta Murgatroyd (Paso) 10-9-10 for a Total of 29.
Paige VanZant & Mark Ballas (Viennese Waltz) 10-9-9 for a Total of 28.
Antonio Brown & Sharna Burgess (Viennese Waltz) 9-9-9 for a Total of 27.
Wanya Morris & Lindsay Arnold (Jive) 8-8-9 for a Total of 25.

Team Results
Team Bruno: Nyle & Peta and Jodie & Keo (Argentine Tango) 10-10 and a 9 from America for a Total of 29.
Team Len: Ginger & Val and Wanya & Lindsay (Samba) 10-10 and a 9 from America for a Total of 29.
Team Carrie Ann: Paige & Mark and Antonio & Sharna (Paso) 10-10 and a 9 from America for a Total of 29.

On to some media! First, read ABC7 for a recap and photos. People has some highlights and quotes as well from a few of the couples. WTAE has a recap of Team Boomin’ here. They also have an interview with Hines Ward at this link. Hines is enjoying watching Antonio grow every week. I think he has too.

Now for some interviews….

ETA: From Fox News

Backstage, Sweetin was delighted to be part of “DWTS” history and said, “I love Peta! Peta’s hot and she’s an amazing dancer and probably one of my favorite female dancers on the show and somebody that, from the beginning, I’ve been like, ‘I want to look like Peta.’ So, to get the opportunity to not only dance next to her but WITH her was great.”

Sweetin, who watched videos of same-sex couples dancing to prepare for the challenge, told her partner Motsepe of his section with DiMarco, “You looked hot, dude, I’m not gonna lie.”

Motsepe commented, “He’s a good dancer and I think dancing with Nyle today just pushed boundaries on the show. I think we can try other things and this is the first one. Jodie and Peta, Keo and Nyle, here we go!”

When asked by FOX411 if “DWTS” should try a whole season with a same-sex celebrity and pro couple, however, Motsepe said, “I don’t know. Bruno did this more like a one-time performance. I think it wasn’t offensive. It was more like, ‘Yo, we can do this. It’s just dancing.'”

ETA2: Glamour has their recap up now!

Still, her elimination before the semi-finals isn’t the most shocking thing about this season. No, the biggest surprise is that for the first time since the All-Star season (when Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani won), there’s not a clear front-runner. It’s also the first time in recent memory that DWTS has been drama-lite and romance-free. And guess what? That’s a good thing! Thanks to a diverse and interesting cast, it’s one of the best seasons this show has seen.

And more from Fox….

Morris has lost 22 pounds and confided, “I look better in my clothes and I have stopped weighing myself.”

“Good Morning America” weathergal Ginger Zee scored a erfect 30 for an intense Argentine tango with Val Chmerkovskiy.

“We’re working really hard and getting rewarded, which feels outstanding,” Zee told Fox 411.

Nyle DiMarco and Peta Murgatroyd stunned the crowd by doing a completely silent section in his Paso Doble with the music turned off.

“I think sometimes people just … look at me as the deaf guy but I don’t think they realize how challenging and hard it can be,” Di Marco said later. “It’s a perfect opportunity for us to remind them I don’t hear anything.”

The move had judge Inaba in tears and DiMarco scored 29 points.

UFC fighter Paige VanZant and partner Mark Ballas played frozen lovers in a Viennese waltz set to the tune “Stone Cold” by Demi Lovato.

VanZant, who earned 28 points, told FOX411, “Our dance was beautiful. I was excited to show off a more lyrical, emotional side.”
