Sharna Burgess Writes On Last Night’s Dances On DWTS, Freestyle Idea If They Make It To The Finals
Sharna Burgess has written a new blog at Extra. She writes of last night’s dances and how hard Antonio worked. She also mentioned on how shocked the cast was to hear about a “double elimination”. She’s hoping she and Antonio make it to the finals because she has an “amazing idea” in mind for a freestyle. More below….
I can’t believe it, we are in the semi-finals! Antonio and I had our best night ever! Throughout the week, I could see how dedicated Antonio was to taking it all the way. He was turning up early for rehearsal and he wanted to stay late. We were working until one or two o’clock in the morning this week because Antonio wanted to push himself harder than he ever has before. All of that hard work completely paid off tonight. He glided across the floor in our Viennese waltz with a beautiful frame. We had a beautiful chemistry and connection and he really embodied the character of that Viennese waltz.
Then, cut to the complete opposite with our team dance with Paige and Mark, where he became a strong, dominant beast who not only danced brilliantly, but also took care of Paige in what is a very complicated and difficult lift to do. I could not have been more proud of Antonio and Paige in that number. It was incredibly stressful to put together with very minimal time and the only reason that number was as phenomenal as it was, was because of what those two brought to it.
Headed into next week, we had a bomb dropped on us tonight, and that is that it will be double elimination! None of us saw that coming, and it really is quite frightening because we have absolutely no control. The dancing has already been done and the decision will be made next week. I truly hope that AB and I get to go all the way to the final because I have the most amazing idea for freestyle that is a tribute to the Steeler Nation from Antonio saying thank you for everything they have given him. I really want to create that piece, not just for Antonio but for Pittsburgh and for the Steelers!
More at Extra.
I am hoping you will make it to the finals, I grew up in Steeler nation and Antonio is my favorite Steeler and you are such a fantastic pro, I can only imagine what you will create. Good luck and here is hoping you are able to pull it off. I had 3 people over last night and I used all their cell phones to vote as well as ours for my favorites.
@Julie W…
Glad to meet another native of Steeler nation, and I also love Antonio as my favorite Steeler guy. Heinz Ward was always my favorite before he retired, and then came Antonio. I was born and raised north of Pittsburgh. My brother has lived in Pittsburgh for many decades and goes to the Steeler home games. He has met Antonio personally and says he really is a nice guy. He said Antonio is always doing fundraisers for the Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital. He is well like by all his team mates.
Thank you, Vogue, for posting this article of Sharna’s thoughts on last nights dance, and her hopes and ideas for the finals.
Re: Sharna comments….
Wow!!! Sharna, what a great response to last night’s show. I totally agree with everything you stated. I’ve never lost faith in Antonio. This show is about a celeb’s journey and their growth along the way. I have enjoyed everyone of Team Boomin’s dances and have been watching Antonio grow more each week and when he reached his breakthrough, it was breathtaking. Can’t weigh ’till next Monday. I have a gut feeling Team Boomin’ will be in the finals.
Thanks for posting. I am excited for Sharna and Antonio. I’m from Toronto, Canada and haven’t watched a football game of any kind since I was a kid but somehow these two still won me over. I think they had a breakthrough and since then I’ve been enjoying their journey. Not everyone is perfect from the beginning and we all have to learn from our mistakes. Is Antonio the best dancer? I don’t know but he’s capable and working hard. I wish them the best.
No.2…..Kreative Kat, Heinz Ward was my all time favorite, but really enjoy watching Antonio. He did not come across so likable to many of the DWTS fans. They need to watch him play football, that is his game. My brother still lives outside Pittsburgh and is a huge fan. Isn’t this show about the improvement you make,it may be too late for him. However, people do not understand the power of Steeler Nation. They are making negative comments about him, but I am not sure he is the way he comes across to the audience. Thanks for the comments. Let’s see what happens this week.
