Can’t wait! I think Brendan is back this week as well if what my friend said is correct. Also did anyone read the article about Karen hardy confirming she had a discussion with the show about replacing Len?! That would be awesome.
LOVE THE SHOW! Finally after the borefest last week (which I wisely skipped by going to the pub of course) they all bounced back this week, at least camp-wise. And you know I’ll always be down on camp. My thoughts:
– It’s been six weeks and even I am bored of calling Louise a lovely lady. Spice it up, love, being lovely and delivering good dances sometimes just won’t thrive in this show. Aside than thinking Harley Quinn is the most overrated look ever (newsflash: it’s not the greatest thing since sliced bread, you know), it’s a perfectly cute Charleston. Lots of it reminded me of her splendid Jive, which is a good thing in and of itself as well.
– A really (as expected) campy dance from Judge Rinder here. While I think the theme is a bit too weird with the Paso, at least it goes with the song. Love the shaping too, and once again Oksana’s choreo works wonder. It suffers a bit though by getting the death slot, since the many memorable dances coming after this made it more forgettable than it should’ve been, but one of his highs for sure.
– Claudia the Gymnast is surprisingly inconsistent, no? I thought her Foxtrot was a largely misguided mess (mostly because of the song, but still) but then her American Smooth is just excellent. Lovely bits in hold, cute pacing and it actually goes really well with the stupid music choice. I’m not sure about straight 9s, just like I wasn’t sure about that score for her Charleston, but another hit for the night.
– Lol bye Anastacia. I was excited to see a Brendan Halloween Bat Out of Hell Jive, but the magic just wasn’t there. It was indeed flat-footed and stompy all over, although I love that she’s giving it a total go and Brendan looks more alive than he had been the last two series combined. Still the weakest of the night, sadly.
– Danny, love, and Oti, love, what the hell? You were going flawlessly the past five weeks and you just HAD to screw up the most in a week this good. Of course Danny is still a terrifyingly brilliant dancer so the bits where he did it right look really nice, but there were tons of mistakes and the thing with the rope was just stupid as hell. Love Oti’s running splits though, and at least it shows that he’s human.
– I was sure that the judges would hate Laura’s Tango for whatever reason because they and I always have differing opinion on her dances, but this time we’re on the same boat. My favourite dance of the night. Neat, precise and coldly exciting, how she delivered that while still being injured is beyond me. Other than her head looking funny at some angles, I LOVE this!
– Ore couldn’t look more sour when the judges were critiquing him, huh? Not every week is going to be a hit for you and allow you to cry, love, better just giggle it off like Daisy. The sync was good and I don’t mind the excessive prop because it’s Halloween, but it felt a bit meh at times, funny because his Jive was excellent. Still a good dance though, even if he again puts me off post-dancing.
– So Will doing a Bollywood with a pinch of Salsa is worthy of 8, Craig, but not for Greg delivering a knockout and standout performance? Really saddening to see Natalie really close to cry like that, and I thought it’s a fascinating performance. Sure, it could do with a bit more hips but hey it’s better to not do that at all than doing it when we all know Greg would suck at. And what the heck is even a “Showdance Week”?
– The opening where Daisy look grimly at the camera? Swoon. It’s another hit for the night, love Aljaz’s choreo and love the Flamenco hands. It even travels the floor really well, and Daisy had some of the best dress of the season already. LOL @ her scores refusing to leave the 30-33 area though, even if it’s her highest score so far.
– Please forgive me for this, but I just love Ed. He’s just a charmer, he danced as well as he could and he’s definitely more of a Mark Benton than John Sargeant. The Cha-cha is also some of my favourite dance of the night and it is indeed HILARIOUS, the first time I find him genuinely funny on the floor. Loads of content too, and he’s not going anywhere this week.
Anastacia is definitely in the bottom two and I’m finally okay with that. Her opponent could be anyone outside the top three leaderboard topper, even Danny, but I’m hoping Ore actually just to see him even more sour lol. But it’s probably going to be Daisy again.
I’m just going to preface this by saying that if there was any doubt of who Ian probably going in the bottom two this week, ed and and Anastasia really just cemented it in my opinion. Louise and Kevin were by far my favs and I loved the costumes 🙂 huge joker and Harley fan so yay. I’d give that a 10. Judge rinder and oksana had their best dance and my fav from him thus far. I’d give it a 9. Didn’t love aj and Claudia this week but agreed with the score I felt that makes sense. The dance was just kinda there compared to their past ones for sure. Anastasia and Brendan were just odd. Definately not a surprise bad as a 4 but those 7s were over by one point for sure. Sorry to say it but it was sloppy. 6s would have sufficed. Completely disagreed with the judges on Danny and oti. THat deserved straight 9s in my opinion. Yes not his strongest dance but still heads and tails better than some. Laura and Giovanni finally had a moment I will remember and I agreed with the 9s. Ore and Joanne…..I kinda hated yet was amused by it. I wouldn’t have give me it an 8. It was just so weird but good lol. Not sure on what exactly is going on with Greg but that was his weakest dance in my opinion. I’d give it a 6. I’m shocked to say This but daisy and aliaz…holy damn was that a showstopper. She could sell any dance and his choreography this week was top notch. That leaves what I think was the worst dance of the season and it’s from exactly who I expected it to be from lol. Ed, God bless ya but it’s time my friend. That 8 was a damn joke from Bruno. Honestly wondering what he saw lol. In short, the dance off should be ed vs Anastasia but I’m getting a bad feeling it’s going to be Anastasia vs Greg leaving Anastasia and him in the dance off next week god willing.
Oh and can I just say that I saw four people walking around today dressed as Harley Quinn and Halloween is on Monday…best part is they were walking around the park handing out mini pumpkins randomly and nobody had a clue who they were or why. So I’m kinda hoping this becomes a yearly thing and I can get one next year (I was running on the track for two hours today becuase I have an odd energy boost today and no coffee has been consumed so this is a weird day for me)
I was looking forward to Halloween week, well I am looking forward to any week on SCD. It was a bit of a let down for me. Some strange song choices but especially some strange judging.
Unfortunately Danny messed up and was scored to high in my opinion but he ist still a wonderful, skilled dancer. Ed was better than ever but still the weakest of them all. He gave it some real effort. Greg was much improved compared to last week. But this is SCD and not DWTS – I just knew they would call him out for lack of content. The last performances put him too much in his head. He needs to enjoy the dancing more. Seeing Natalie so sad makes me sad. Claudia got some very strange music but was doing remarably well. Herr feet are great. Louise and Laura were good, but overscored my my book. Again I loved Daisy and Aljaz. He created another fun dance for her and I am always pleasantly surprised how well she moves these gorgeous long legs. I did not enjoy Ore as much as anyone else seemingly did. Judge Rinder is a lot of fun again and also puts the work in it. Anastacia is in my personal bottom two. She had one good dance with Gorka. I don’t enjoy her all too much, I don’t like Brendan all too much and I could easily do without them. But from a dancing point of view it should still be Ed.
The pro number was fab. It made me fall in love with that old song all over again 🙂
Sooooo sick of Danny’s song. I think he’ll survive this week though. I thought Daisy was underscored, also she and Aljaz had great make up. Ore’s dance was weird.
Sadly it seems like Anastacia’s time is up. I actually like her in general but she’s been blowing hot and cold with her dances for me.
How is everyone’s ranking of the dances this week?
For me:
1. Laura and Giovanni
2. Daisy and Aljaz
3. Claudia and A.J.
4. Greg and Natalie
5. Louise and Kevin
6. Ed and Katya (don’t judge me)
7. Judge Rinder and Oksana
8. Danny and Oti
9. Anastacia and Brendan
10. Ore and Joanne (it’s much worse on repeat surprisingly)
I’ve seen the results spoiler and I haz a sad with the bottom two.
1)Kevin and Louise 2)Laura and Giovanni 3)Daisy and Aliajz 4)judge rinder and oksana 5)Danny and oti 6)Claudia and aj 7)ore and Joanne 8)Greg and Natalie 9)ansastacia and Brendan 10)ed and Katya
@daniel: is it bad or predictable? Cuz this is around the time where surprises are happening
The results are going to air in less than half an hour, but I still won’t spoil lol. I think it’s bad, actually, and I feel for one of the celebs in the DO. The result also makes the results in the future more of a toss-up.
Between this show, dwts, and survivor I’m going to be a mess this week lol….especially survivor since the person that went home was the single best blindside ever but completely ruined my predictions with my friends since I was convinced her inability to play the game would get her to the finale. It was like Alice in wonderland but if Alice was completely inept. Anyways, I digressed there a bit. Thanks!
Really sorry for Daisy. Love her dance but I guess it’s the circumstance surrounding her that made her ending up there. She did a well-danced routine but in the middle of Danny and Ore suddenly being a possible dance-off candidate, with popular Greg and Ed near the bottom might have pushed the voters to think “Oh she’s fourth on the ladder, she’ll be ok!” Not even the dance-off redemption votes could save her. It’s not as tragic as Abbey’s fate, who dropped all the way from joint second to the dance-off, but unfortunate nonetheless.
Next week we’re seeing the first AT by Louise. Ore got Salsa, Laura Samba and Greg VW. Ed should get a Ballroom next week, out of six he’d only done Waltz and AS. Daisy also might very well get Ballroom after having Rumba-Charleston-Paso.
Daisy just doesn’t have a fanbase, Ed is the people’s champion and Greg is an Olympic hero. I think someone good will go home next week. My money’s on Laura who has Samba. I’ll be shocked if she isn’t at least in the bottom two. Daisy will hope for a few sympathy votes off the back of being in the danceoff twice. I could see a Laura v Rinder/Daisy bottom two next week. Ed I think will either go on Blackpool week or the week before.
Honestly, I feel bad for Daisy becuase she has improved so much and has a great pro so on paper they should be contenders yet they are not hitting it off with the voters and I think it’s becuase they might be too similair in a weird way. If she was on our version, I think the voters would have loved her so this is probably going to be Trent and pixie all over again.
Ed Balls all the way baby!!
It’s definitely the no real fanbase plus the leader board shakeup that resulted in Daisy’s placement. Hopefully she’ll deliver an outstanding Ballroom next week, or even if she doesn’t, I hope she’ll get overscored to the hell and back. I’m not kidding, I just want her to stick around at least over Ed. I like him but to stay over Daisy? Nope. Or maybe she’ll get into a third dance-off next week against Laura who had Samba with a ruined ankle and survive.
I’m not sure how I’m exactly basing this but this is my prediction for the combined leader board this week:
1. Claudia / 1st judges / 10 / 6th votes / 5 = 15
1. Greg / 8th judges / 5 / 1st votes / 10 = 15
1. Danny / 7th judges / 6 / 2nd votes / 9 = 15
4. Judge Rinder / 5th judges / 7 / 4th votes / 7 = 14
5. Louise / 3rd judges / 9 / 7th votes / 4 = 13
5. Ore / 5th judges / 7 / 5th votes / 6 = 13
5. Ed / 8th judges / 5 / 3rd votes / 8 = 13
8. Laura / 1st judges / 10 / 9th votes / 2 = 12
9. Daisy / 4th judges / 8 / 8th votes / 3 = 11
10. Anastacia / 10th judges / 4 / 10th votes / 1 = 5
Although I have to admit Daisy being 8th on the votes is mostly based on my wishful thinking. She could be last on votes for all I know.
