Jana Kramer Interviewed On Gleb Savchenko, DWTS, And The Finale – New Interview
Jana Kramer talked with US Weekly about how much doing Dancing With The Stars has helped her. Specifically, Gleb Savchenko has helped to rechannel her pain from a past romance through dance. She also talks on the finale. Here is more….
The country star said that her DWTS partner Gleb Savchenko helped her channel all that pain into this week’s trio routine, which received a perfect score. “I had so much fun, he choreographed an amazing routine and it was so cool because I got to play this really powerful person and he was like, ‘Take all the crap you’ve been through and put it in this dance,’” Kramer told Us.
She teased that the duo’s finale dance is going to be the best they’ve ever done. “We have an amazing song and [Gleb] is going to choreograph the most powerful piece he’s ever created for the finals and I have no doubt in my mind that we’re going to deliver the best story and reach millions of people,” she said. In the finale, Kramer and Savchenko will compete against James Hinchcliffe and Sharna Burgess, Calvin Johnson and Lindsay Arnold, and Laurie Hernandez and Val Chmerkovskiy.

Happy for Gleb that he’s in the finals. I didn’t realize or maybe underestimated his fan base. While I do like Gleb’s personality, choreography, and tv personality, I feel the same exact way about Jana since week 1.
For some reason, I don’t see why she’s on DWTS or why on Earth she’s in the finals (I mean overscoring and TPTB’s manipulation I get), but her story does not resonate with me. I get that the sexy thing is their schtick, but based on what I’ve heard about her past wouldn’t she want to get as far away from provacative vixen as much as she could in each performance to show other sides of her. I’d think doing sultry dances would be her downfall and make people root for her…but its def. her forte. Well I do hope she comes in 4th…but unfortunately I think she might kick Calvin out of the 3rd place spot. 🙁
Based on her comments in the article…I think Gleb will go for an emotional contemporary freestyle, acting out some form of her experience and then ending with her being a successful, happy, independent woman.
On the other hand, Laurie mentioned her freestyle will be barefoot and upbeat and happy with acrobatics. Maybe the song “Happy” by Pharell lol
I bet you are dead on about those freestyles. Though what I’d give if Gleb did a Waltz type Freestyle (in a way like he did on DWTSRussia). Though I don’t think Jana can handle some of the choreo he’d really like to do.
I have mixed feelings about Jana but if this experience has helped her, then good for her. I was reading a blog she wrote for People back in April – she gushed about her husband, what a wonderful father he is, how she couldn’t wait for him to show their daughter how a woman should be treated, with some lovely photos of the three of them (Jana was glowing and looked happy like I haven’t seen on DWTS), so it’s pretty horrible that within months, they’ve separated and details of his sex addiction are in gossip rags. I get that celebs love publicity and tend to overshare, but that’s humiliating for anyone.
Anyway, while I still wish it had been Terra and Sasha in the F4, I hope she and Gleb leave on a high after their freestyle. I don’t think it will be anything different to what they’ve already done (I did enjoy her MMY and the Sia dance with Laurie – I felt she was genuinely emotional) but it sounds like it is important for her.
I do like Gleb and hope next season he can be more creative with his choreo when it’s not so much a DWTS-as-therapy job. Jana’s dark, intense moods, fragility and neediness can’t have been easy to work with. I remember on one of the results show, Gleb was pleading with her not to cry after their dance (she was basically whimpering) and I felt so sorry for him. I’m glad TPTB did pair them up though.
Yea, I hope this has helped her grow and learn to take care of herself for once. Sorry about her and her husband, but the red flags were there from the get go and she chose to ignore them. But best of luck to her,I don’t wish this on any one.
Vogue, I didn’t see that freestyle but about to look it up! I wonder if he’ll borrow from that and if it works with viewers here? Nonetheless, looking forward to the freestyles!
My apologies, Emn. I meant that he did such a cool Waltz on DWTS Russia (it wasn’t for the freestyle), that I’d like to see another one borrowed from it with the same powerful choreo and characters. Here it is. I just loved this…
