Nick Viall Feels Like He Let Peta Murgatroyd down on DWTS Season 24

Nick is really growing on me, I have to say. Huge difference between him and Charo, that’s for sure. Nick and Peta spoke to Entertainment Tonight – and excerpt is below, but be sure to click the link to read the whole thing.

“It cut me at my core,” Viall, 36, told ET’s Kevin Frazier on Wednesday. “It hurt. The truth is, I felt really bad, just because I think some of the feedback we got from the judges was even directed at Peta for almost, like, making the choreography too difficult. But, the truth is, it wasn’t like she has amazing [difficult] choreography.”

“I just kind of choked in the middle,” he admitted. “Because she’s doing such a great job, and [the judges] kind of put the pressure on her, and it was up to me to deliver, and so, seriously, it felt like… I feel like I let her down.”

Charo Threatens to Quit Dancing with the Stars – E! News Report

E! is really only half a step above most of the other entertainment outlets, but according to them Charo was threatening to walk this past Monday night. I think perhaps she needs to get real. If this is true…well, STFU. You ain’t all that and I like Mr. T better than you. Excerpt below – read the whole article at E! News:

“She was telling producers that she doesn’t like how they’re underscoring her and she feels like she’s been treated so badly so she was threatening to quit,” our source continued. The producers were ultimately able to walk her back off the ledge, but we hear the threat still stands “unless they started scoring her performances more fairly.”

Our sources tell us that the question of fairness remains a sensitive subject among the cast. Between Heather Morris’ dance background, Len Goodman’s rather harsh critiques during Monday night’s taping, and questions about who else among the stars has previous dance experience, we’re told tensions are high.

DWTS Emma Slater Plans To Share Rashad Jennings Emotional And Amazing Story Through Dance

Rashad Jennings felt like he wasn’t talented being he was overweight as a child. He also had asthma to the point he was once on his death bed. Everythng changed when one day his Dad asked him what he wanted to do with his life. Lots more at Entertainment Tonight including how his Dancing With The Stars partner, Emma Slater, plans to tell his story.

And now, he’s using his legs to dance for his dad on Dancing With the Stars. When ET asks if there’s any story he could tell through dance, he says it would undoubtedly be this one… and he has faith that his pro partner, Emma Slater, will choreograph a routine that will perfectly encapsulate his journey.

“I should have never, ever, ever, ever made it to the NFL,” he insists. “So, to be in a position where I’m dancing with Dancing With the Stars on ABC, this is just — I’m still shocked.”

“I want to dedicate a song to my father,” he adds. “Both of his legs had to be amputated, so for me to be able to dance for him, it’s just like when I think about playing football. My father doesn’t have legs, so I get to run, for him. Obviously he can’t dance, so to be able to dance for him I think would be every emotional for me.”

And according to Emma, it’s going to happen.

“Rashad is a wonderful, incredible person,” she tells ET. “His story is amazing, about that kind of unconditional love that he has for his dad. He’s made his life dedicated to bringing his dad back in a sense … it was just so heartfelt when he told me, so I knew that that was something that’s going to be in our season.”

“We’re definitely going to pay ode to his dad and the kind of unique relationship they have,” she continues. “Because it didn’t start off the way it is now, so I think it’s really quite unique and tells the story of who Rashad is today.”

Jennings says that today, he’s “kind of a living witness” of loving family, and “keeping God in your life, consistently trying to do the right things [so] that good things will come back to you over time.”

Lindsay Arnold Writes On DWTS Week 2, Can’t Wait To Show David Ross Doing Something New Next Week

Lindsay Arnold has written a new blog about Dancing With The Stars Week 2 and how they put their dance together last week. However, it was stressful at the beginning of their performance. From Hollywood Life….

I was so proud of David because he really handled it well and was really excited. He had a stressful thing at the beginning of the dance. He was sitting on camera at the start of our dance where nothing was happening. Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews messed up a cue and cut to David too early. They had to finish saying a few things that were on the screen, so they cut to him and the music wasn’t being cued. He was standing there for a few extra seconds. It was very weird for him, and I was sort of freaking out because he was all by himself and I couldn’t do anything, I just hoped that he waited to listen to the music. David handled it like a champ! I felt like he nailed the dance. I had so much fun and once again felt how much fun he was having in the routine. I don’t ever want him to walk away from a show night and regret something or feel like he didn’t have fun. That would be a loss me.

He was laughing, and I think he was a little shocked he was able to accomplish it. He stepped outside of his box and tried new things. We got good critiques. It’s always hard to get critiques; you want them to be helpful and constructive and they really were. The things they were saying were things that we know we need to work on. We’re going in the right direction.

After Chris went home, it made it even more real. David even said that it was finally setting in that this is a competition, and he’s a competitor. He wants to do well, he wants to win. I know he’s going to put in that work. Seeing someone going home really set reality in place for him. He really enjoys doing this, and I’m so happy because that’s the goal — take someone out of their comfort zone and have them really end up enjoying it and finding a new passion.

I can’t wait to show David doing something really new. He’s so willing to try to do what I ask of him which is hard to come by! I think it’s gonna be a good, fun week — you’re going to see a new side of David that no one has seen before!

I can’t wait too. More at Hollywood Life.

Derek Hough’s Latest Passion Project – Music Video for “Ashes of Eden”

Those who follow along with all the myriad things Derek is doing these days are well aware of his new music video, but those of you not tuned in may have missed it yesterday. Derek covers Breaking Benjamin’s Ashes of Eden. Choreography is by Rudy Abreu. You can read about the vocal surgery Derek had last year and the fear that went along with it at Entertainment Weekly.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: This was your third time directing a music video — how was it different?

DEREK HOUGH: Yeah, yeah. The thing is with this video, for me personally, is last year I had surgery on my voice and I couldn’t speak for a month, which was really difficult. It was just an interesting time for me to sort of reflect and to be thoughtful… Not having a voice at all, like not even a whisper, not even like a murmur — absolutely nothing for a month… And I would listen a lot more. And it got me thinking about things about life, and about what’s out there, and is there something greater than us out there? So when I heard this song, and it’s a cover — it’s from a band called Breaking Benjamin — I just heard it and it really resonated with me. I don’t know, it just really spoke to me, it was really powerful, especially not having a voice, it kind of became my voice and questions through that song.

Here’s the video – gorgeous!

Dancing with the Stars Season 24, Week THREE – Who’s Dancing What…and When?

I dunno…is there anything that sounds like it could be worse than Vegas Week? I can’t think of anything.

Vogue: According to Maks’ instagram, Heather and Alan have a Tango next week. Thanks to Nathan for the heads up.

Court: According to Glamour, Nick has tango to “Poker Face”.  Cause you play poker in Vegas. Get it??? 😛

Vogue: Nancy has a Samba according to her new blog…and she’s looking forward to it. Be sure to read it here.

ETA: Lori tells me that the DWTS instagram implies that Simone has a Jive to something Elvis. Hence the question marks. ~Heidi
