The noun form of the word you are using is ‘advice’. ‘Advise’ is a verb.
Sorry, I corrected it.
Thanks! The two words are SO often confused that I thought it might help to see the proper useage…
Nick is pretty funny-being Maks is a lifestyle. 🙂
When I saw this, I thought why would talented, 2 time MB champion Peta ask Maks to help? But then I remembered that she was allowed to have Maks help her unseen through Nyle’s entire season. Wonder if this will make it into the broadcast tonight?
Laure R., isn’t the proper spelling usage? I know they are often mispelled and I may be wrong, but just noticed that.
Also, IS THIS A JOKE FROM HELL? First of all, is it even okay for a former eliminated pro to come in and help a competing couple. It’s just so many conflict of interests. I’m sure they’ve done it before, but I’m pretty sure Peta can handle teaching Nick herself. And I’m sorry, Maks is definitley NOT Mr. Argentine Tango if you ask me. I have enjoyed Peta’s ATs wayyyyyy more, choreographically and entertainment wise.
I did see a preview where he is using a rope…so maybe they are hyping this performance up to be amazing, so that he’ll get a good score because he’s leaving tonight????
Meh, I don’t see this as a big deal. It literally happens all the time and I actually think it’s a good thing. It’s probably beneficial for the celeb to get a visual of what the dance should look like from a same sex pro. Pros have talked about Tony helping teach lifts, Artem and Jenna have assisted in the past, Henry did camera blocking with Nastia while Derek was in NYC, etc.. The only way I can see it being a conflict of interest is if the helper pro was a judge that week.
I love our pros, but I also like when they admit they need help. I want them to do what’s best for their celebrity, whether it be getting a pro in to show them the steps, getting help with choreo, or just bouncing ideas off another pro.
EmnEm – sorry about ‘useage’ – my computer said it was right and that ‘usage’ was wrong. I couldn’t believe it, but went with it anyway… On to Maks. I remember him helping Peta out with more than one of her former partners – showing the posture and what the dance should look like on the man, but I really hope he didn’t ‘help’ with choreography. I think Peta is better than Maks is…
And Chayse, didn’t Henry get fired from helping Derek and Nastia when he stopped being an extension of Derek and started changing Derek’s choreo? That’s when Derek had Sasha take over Nastia’s weekends, and then he partnered her for the dances when Derek got hurt. Having seen how Derek handled Nastia – having a partner do the dance for him while directing both of them, and doing all of his own choreo, it seemed very odd to me for Maks to have Alan actually choreograph some of Heather’s dancing. I suspect that there really are no set ‘rules’ on how to handle such situations, DWTS being not a real competition but a reality show…
Laure R- the ladies at Pure would know more than me, but I believe that was the case. My point is that pros get help all the time, this isn’t a Maks/Peta situation.
Maks has got to be the center of attention. Yes, Peta is more than capable of working with Nick. Maks is bossy and just takes over.
Laurie R., no worries…I think grammar corrections are so contagious and fun, but my comments are far from perfection hah!
Chayse, I know it’s been done before, on numerous occasions, and it is nice for the celeb to see the same gender do some steps etc. But, for some reason Maks just coming in after being eliminated and taking this BIG BROTHER role on DWTS is irking me and not in the slightest way. Maybe with troupe members or new pros he could be a mentor or “director” as he called himself, but Peta is far from needing one.
It’s like Maks is mad that he’s still a pro or TPTB won’t let him be a judge….so he’s trying to find a more meaningful position on the show that suits his seniority as well.
He seems to be in a gray zone, or just wants to be a father and plan his wedding right now while staying relevant and getting that paycheck? Who knows…
Well, first of all Colleen, Emn, Justine and all of you stating TRUE things about Maks and he does try to be in control. I totally agree with all of you for that truth. Thank you. Glad to see Peta and Maks gone. I hope they/maks,peta will not return next season.Mandy Moore was great as a judge -just like Shirley Ballas would most likely be. Fair judging. I am so happy to see the lovely Emma doing so well. She deserves it. Now along with Sasha, Emma, Sharna, some of the real dancers like Karina, Edyta, maybe Cheryl can all return to give the show a boost back to reality. I enjoyed the show last night surprisingly to me. Hang in Pros, waiting to get Tony, Mark, Derrick, and some others back on the Ball room floor. Good job cast.
