PureDWTS Season 24 Week 7 – Media, Interviews, Scores, And More After The Dances

Man, a double elimination is always hard. Last night, was especially hard with Nancy Kerrigan getting eliminated. I can’t figure out this show sometimes? 🙁 I also can’t figure out who is going to win this season? Anything could happen?

So, let’s review the scores again:

Normani & Val 40 (10, 10, 10, 10)
Simone & Sasha 37 (10, 9, 9, 9)
Rashad & Emma 37 (9, 9, 10, 9)
David & Lindsay 32 (8, 8, 8, 8)
Bonner & Sharna 29 (7, 7, 8, 7)
Nancy & Artem 36 (9, 9, 9, 9) Eliminated
Nick & Peta 34 (8, 8, 9, 9) Eliminated

To relive all the dances again, see Idolxfactor (these videos work Internationally) and the official You Tube site. For media and recaps, first see People and Entertainment Tonight. Be sure to check back with these links through out the day for possibly more.

Glamour spoke to the couples backstage. Lots of good stuff here including some dance information for next week. Note too how Simone is talking to her agent about touring in the new DWTS tour this summer.

Although Simone and Sasha are still in the competition, they’re already looking ahead to the summer now that Sasha will be joining the Hot Summer Nights DWTS Tour. Laurie Hernandez joined Val on tour last winter, so will Simone do the same with Sasha? “I’m talking to my agent about it,” she told me backstage. “We’ll see. I’m not sure. I’m actually going to talk to her after this to see what’s cooking!”

David Ross was thrilled to avoid elimination last night, especially since it was his son’s eighth birthday. “He comes up to me and goes, ‘Dad, you got all 8s! And I turned 8 today! So you’re not going home! It’s a good omen!’ I’m like, ‘Alright, buddy, I hope you’re right!'” So how’d the Ross family celebrate the little guy’s birthday? “They are flying back home tonight (Monday), so we celebrated on Sunday. We saw Boss Baby and then went to the Cheesecake Factory, which he loves.”

Rashad Jennings was all smile backstages, especially upon hearing that Mandy Moore thinks he’ll be in the finals. “I had so much fun out there tonight. This entire week of working on this dance was fun for me.” It’s also fun for Rashad’s fans, who have fallen under the spell of the charismatic NFL player. So, has that translated into any marriage proposals? “It’s been [very] welcoming from the female audience!” he laughed. “There’s some nice people in the world!”

Sharna Burgess and Bonner Bolton were shocked to have survived the double elimination, with Sharna remarking, “Oh my God, we made it,” when she came backstage. Why the surprise? Well, for one, Bonner wasn’t even sure he’d be able to compete this week. “I was honestly thinking that [I might have to drop out of the competition],” Bonner admitted. “I was really nervous that I may not be able to handle much more. It’s a common thing we’ve talked about, but thanks to all the fans who are voting and pushing us through, when I get to those moments of doubt throughout the week, the fans and Sharna are believing in me, and it means the world to me. I doubt myself sometimes, and no matter what pain I’m going through, it helps me to push past that, and overcome it, and somehow found a way to keep making it work.”

While Bonner’s pain has subsided a bit this past week, he’s had to go to great lengths to keep it that way. Explains Sharna: “We had to take some time off this week to be easier on Bonner’s body because he was hurting so much. He’s feeling stronger, and we’re trying to figure out a better strategy without rehearsals. I think what we’re going to try and do is 2 ½ hours in the morning and 2 ½ hours in the evening, and then go to the plunge pool in between and re-set back to one. The thing is, we do need to do more work now, because it’s week 8 and everybody is amazing, and we want to step up to that level. We just have to figure out how to do that.”

Val and Normani got the evening’s only perfect score, and were granted immunity because of it. “I’m going to eat dessert and drink alcohol!” Val joked. “No, tomorrow we’ll get into the studio again. We got a perfect score which is great, but as long as we keep capturing the essence of the different performances that we’re doing, I think we’ll continue to get some good scores.”

Next week will be a big one for the duo, as they’ll dance a contemporary number to “Freedom” by Anthony Hamilton. “It’s not an easy performance, but at the end of it, it will be waterworks all over the studio,” Val promises. ” I think it’s an incredible song, and it will really challenge Normani. When the song is that big and the content is that powerful, the performance has to match that.”

Fox also chatted with some of the couples. I love how Rashad came up with the scary idea for his routine last night.

NFL player Jennings performed a horror movie inspired Paso Doble on Monday and told reporters later that he came up with the scary idea for the routine and his dream would be to write film screenplays one day.

Biles, with partner Sasha Farber by her side, said of her silent movie Charleston that she learned the entire dance in six hours: “I actually picked it up the quickest ever. I was locked in.

“I’m coming out of my shell week by week,” Biles added. “I feel like I’ve matured a lot being on this show.

“I’ve had to be a lot more independent to deal with grown men all the time. It’s just a struggle,” she joked about Farber.

Farber told reporters of his upcoming wedding to fellow pro Slater, who will both go on the upcoming “DWTS” tour together, “We’ll be planning [it] on the tour bus. I know we’re going to do it in L.A., we just don’t have a date or a place or a time.”

Former baseball player David Ross scored a combined 32 points and bull rider Bonner Bolton earned 31 for the night.

Ross admitted to FOX411 that he was shocked to make it through to week eight next Monday.

He commented about his science fiction themed salsa–which Judge Carrie Ann Inaba said “was full of content”–“I’m not a big sci fi guy, but it was fun! I’m having the time of my life.”
