PureDWTS Season 24 Week 8 – Media, Interviews, Scores, And More After The Dances
What a great night of dancing! I officially love “Trio” night too! Rashad and Simone’s Trio dances were my favorites. 🙂 Also, a mention on Sharna and Bonner. I loved them and their chemistry all season. So much so, I’d love to see them do a Hallmark Movie together. I also thought Sharna’s choreography was exceptional. I’m so glad they were paired together. Thank you for dancing, Bonner, and for being such a fighter too.
So, let’s review the scores:
Rashad & Emma 36 (9, 9, 9, 9) Trio: 39 (10, 9, 10, 10)
Normani & Val 40 (10, 10, 10, 10) Trio: 39 (10, 9, 10, 10)
Simone & Sasha 36 (9, 9, 9, 9) Foxtrot Trio: 36 (9, 9, 9, 9)
David & Lindsay 36 (9, 9, 9, 9) Trio: 29 (7, 7, 8, 7)
Bonner & Sharna 30 (8, 7, 8, 7) Trio: 28 (7, 7, 7, 7) Elimnated
To relive all the dances again, see Idolxfactor (these videos work Internationally) and the official You Tube site.
For media, interviews, and recaps, first see People and Entertainment Tonight (I feel sorry for Simone). Be sure to check back with these links through out the day for possibly more. Glamour has a recap too (but, no back stage interviews yet). And from FOX:
Partner Farber told FOX411, “Standing there getting those scores I know exactly how Simone is, she’s only 20 years old, and to hear all those things, I could feel her heart just hurting. I’m kind of sorry she had to go through that and I’m right here for her….”
Earlier, Kordei had told “DWTS” rehearsal cameras that she once had been bullied online and been subjected to racist taunts.
The singer turned in a flawless contemporary dance with Val Chmerkovskiy and told FOX411 backstage that she would say to the haters, “I still have love for you.”
Kordei said her performance “was definitely healing for myself and also for my family, just because they know the struggle I went through as well. My mother and my dad and my mom cried, [it was] super emotional.”
Thrilled former Chicago Cub Ross told reporters, “When I signed up [for DWTS] I never thought I would’ve made it this far….it’s going to be a sad day when that ends. But I’m also excited that when it does, I get to go home to my family. It’s a win-win for me.”
Ross moves on to next week’s semifinals, along with Kordei, Biles, and NFL star Jennings, who are the final four.
Bolton was sent home after a rough night — but Jennings said of the bull rider who broke his neck last year, “I’m so proud of him….all the things he’s had to overcome…we’re going to keep in touch.”
And below are more recaps and some interviews…

While I enjoyed some of the dances (Simone, Rashad and David), the judges were out of line in some cases. I felt so bad for Simone as nothing she does seems to please them and the criticism seems so subjective and vague. And while I was no fan of Bonners, Len went too far! Honestly between the producer driven narrative and the whack judging, they are sucking the joy out of the show for me!
The way the stars and pros who don’t nee ringers have been treated this past year I am beginning to wonder who they’ll be able to get next season. Maybe that’s why ABC feels they NEED IDOL.
It really frustrates me that after weeks of being nitpicked for increasingly personal reasons, it is Simone who has to answer for her response to these increasingly personal nitpicks. It seems like it didn’t occur to anybody that was interviewing her afterward that what happened is that the judges poured a ton of negative comments on her and then she was asked “Why aren’t you smiling?” That’s just plain mean to do to somebody. I wish someone would go to the judges and say “You are so bad at your jobs. Your criticisms are vague and unintelligible, and you’re horribly inconsistent about everything you claim to value,” then ask them why they aren’t smiling about those comments, and then tear them apart for their answers.
I’m also sad that yet again we don’t have an interview from David. I can only recall one post-show interview with David all season. He seems like such a fun guy. I wish they did more interviews with him.

I agree with you. Simone is young and I cannot for the life of me understand why the Judges are picking on her so much. They knew that when the asked her to sign-up for the show. The young girl has been thru so much in her early life. I feel that she has done a great job. We support her all the way.
I’m from Chicago and I like David Ross however, I cannot understand why the Judges are keeping him on. They don’t seem to pick on him as much as they do Simone.
justine1-
The judges have picked on David plenty, including last night, did you even see the paso trio critique?
The FANS are obviously keeping David in, not the judges, as higher-scorers have left the show before him.
No interviews of Rashad and Emma? I don’t like that, that’s how they kicked off Nancy.
Go to the third update to the Access Hollywood link and you’ll find an interview with Rashad and Emma there.
Finally…an interview with David and Lindsay (added to the post).
Thanks for posting that interview with David and Lindsay, Vogue! I’m glad to finally see one from them. He is such a sweet guy.
You are so welcome! xx
My heart broke for Simone. She defended herself well but the comments were cruel. Bonner’s criticisms were not helpful, given his injuries. Both pros have done a sterling job with choreography and teaching. I am truly getting turned off this year.
Thank you Voguerista.
