Let’s Send A HUGE Congratulations To Our Two DWTS Couples!
Peta Murgatroyd and Maksim Chmerkovskiy were married on Saturday, July 8, 2017.
Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich were married on Saturday, July 8, 2017.
I had promised our sweet Vogue, who has been away from the computer for the whole weekend, that I would fill in for her, and post photos of both weddings. Instead, I ended up being VERY busy and away from the computer for a majority of the weekend because of some family obligations. I had been trying to keep up with things on my phone though…
I’m not going to post the photos, however, because I usually have a lot of trouble getting them to post, and it’s Vogue who puts any photo onto anything I’ve posted! Instead click here to see Julianne and Brooks announcement from People and click here to see Peta and Maks announcement from People.
There’s been quite a bit said about the two weddings being on the same day, and even mentioned how unfair they were to not move their dates. The thing is, neither couple moves in the same circle, and I really don’t think that there was as much overlap in guest list as people are assuming. Other than the dates, and that 3 of them are employed by DWTS, I don’t think there was too much the same.
Both brides are breathtakingingly gorgeous! Both brides had gowns that fit them and their personalities. Both brides had a wedding that they’ll remember for the rest of their lives! Both grooms are head over heels for their bride, and vice versa.
Peta and Maks chose to get married in a huge wedding at Oheka Castle on Long Island, NY. Julianne and Brooks chose to get married in the middle of a field lakeside near Coeur D’Alene lake, Idaho.
Both are important events, and both deserve to be celebrated. I’m sure we’ll find photos to add at a later time, since one of the wedding parties chose to be a LOT more secretive about the entire wedding than the other.
Please post your congratulations below for our two happy couples!

Congratulations to both couples. Wow, what stunning weddings! Thank you thank you so much, Lori!
Congrats to Julianne and Brooks and Peta & Maks!
Beautiful pics. It’s cool to know someone who was a Bridesmaid for Peta and Maks 🙂 She was in the pic with Sharna and Rumer that was shown on GMA this morning! 🙂
So happy for the two couples. I think both brides got the wedding they planned for and the loves of their lives. I do have to admit that I am a little surprised at Julianne’s, only for the reason I personally pictured it different. I love she didn’t have 500 guests and was so down to earth, but the photos of the site really didn’t seem as glamorous as I thought her outdoor wedding would be. Some of the photos don’t just show rustic wood fencing, but chain link too. The guests all have the sun in their eyes and can’t be too comfortable in the heat, sitting in 2 foot high grass with bees and bugs flying. I know it doesn’t matter what I think, I can see they were so happy, I was just expecting something different. Congratulations to all and wishing you a lifetime of happiness and joy.
I wish both couples a life time of happiness. Both couples and particularly both brides look very, very happy and that is all that really matters. I’m sure each got the wedding they wanted. I haven’t seen enough photos of Julianne’s wedding to really know too much. Neither dress nor hairstyle was exactly what I thought either bride would wear but that probably has to do with the business they are in. We have seen both these ladies dressed to the nines for many events from the gown to the makeup to the hair so that is probably coloring my views some what. Fact is, if they were happy, that’s all that matters.
Congrats to both couples. Julianne’s wedding reminds me of my great niece’s wedding 2 years ago (also in Idaho) except Whitney wore cowboy boots under the dress and her groom also wore boots as well as the entire wedding party.
I’m sure it was very glamorous – as glamorous as she wanted, PJC – but the problem is, you can’t really have an idea what the setting was really like because all the photos coming out were taken by Paps who were very far away. Of course it looked like they were sitting IN the grass – the paps were far away, not to mention probably hiding in grass themselves. I’m sure it was a lawn mowed and lovely – clearly there was a stage/platform out there, along with flower boxes and a wooden walkway. We won’t get a good feel for what it really looked like until (unless?) they release official photos.
I absolutely loved the photos of them in the boat – I thought that was very romantic. The whole wedding and the day before seemed built for their family and friends to have FUN.
Many congrats to the two couples. All involved looked happy and lovely and I wish both couples all the best. I would’ve loved to be a guest at both parties to be honest. Very different themes but I’m sure both parties were spectacular in their own unique ways.
BTW – is it just me or did Ryan Seacrest look a bit uncomfortable in the clip above while speaking of his ex-girlfriend?!
Lastly – I’m dying to see little Shai in his tuxedo! He was at the wedding wasn’t he?
Carrie, Peta’s mom carried him down the aisle. He had on a white tuxedo romper with a little tie and everything. Lots of pics and videos on IG!
Congratulations and much happiness to Julianne and Brooks and Maks and Peta.
As far as the wedding settings the important thing is that both couples had the wedding THEY wanted.
Maks and Peta’s was more public and more glamorous because that is what they wanted and they seem to be more public about their lives. Carrie there are pictures out there of Peta’s Mom carrying Shai up the aisle, maybe in People? Those are pretty much the only photos I’ve seen of him.
Julianne and Brooks on the other hand seem to be more private and casual so the lakeshore setting was perfectly suited to them. I too loved the boat get away very cute and different like them.
It is easy to see how happy they all are. Best wishes to them all.
So…will Julianne and Peta change their last names in DWTS?? Like Ashly Costa or Kym did.
Congratulations to them!
C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S!!!
JULIANNE & BROOKS
and
PETA & MAKS
Best Wishes to both couples for a lifetime of happiness filled with love.
Well, professionally, I can’t imagine that Julianne wouldn’t keep Hough. I don’t know that we’ll know if she officially changes it to Laich though. Unless she says something.
Maybe Peta and Maks will both change their last name, to something like Chmergatroyd?
They already spent so much on the Chmergatroyd wedding branding, they may as well let that hashtag keep paying for itself.
