Dancing With The Stars Season 25 Pros Weigh In On Rivalries And More
Be sure to pick up the new edition of US Weekly. Some of the pros of Dancing With The Stars Season 25 are featured on the cover. They talk on their rivalries and more. You can see the cover and some of the interviews HERE.
Us Weekly: Fess up, how fierce is the rivalry?Peta Murgatroyd: It’s intense for the show. But in reality, we are good friends. It’s not like, “I have to beat Mark Ballas!”
Sharna Burgess: To be honest, I think the fans fight more than we do! The stories about bad blood and confrontation get blown out of proportion.
Mark Ballas: If you start thinking, “I have to beat this one,” you’ve got a major problem. This is about your partner.
Witney Carson: At the beginning of the season we’re all so excited. Then, when it starts getting serious, I shut my door because I don’t want anybody to see my routine! I am super-competitive.

Pretty much sums it up and why he’s one of my favorite pros.
You can be competitive without making it about yourself and being a douche about it. It takes maturity and the ability to put others before yourself. Or in Val’s case, putting others before your massive ego which hides a raging insecurity.
Because I can’t say it too many times, I’m so happy Mark is back.
Very interesting that Val wasn’t interviewed. Wasn’t he asked about rivalry some seasons ago? I think Val said he was a competitor for years, against some of the same pros he now shares the ballroom with and that you just can’t turn that off.
@Colleen – He did choreograph (2) dances on SYTYCD this week. Maybe he just wasn’t available to interview?
Good answers above, but Mark’s summed it up in a nutshell. Glad he is back, also!
Just putting this out there, because I think some people might be putting a bit too much stock into the pros tweets about their partners: every pro is supposed to act excited about their partners, whether they’re actually awesome or they suck. It would be rude not to be – so if Witney or Val is gushing about their partner, I’m not reading too far into it. I doubt any pro would act intentionally lackadaisical about their partners at this point.
Yes, exactly Courtney! The pros are told who their stars are before the meet up and they are supposed to do some research and know what their partners are know for, even if the pro grew up in another country or time frame.
I expect Val (and his fawning fans) will act like NO other pro has ever worked with a celeb who has a disability before. And I do know very, very well that every celeb with all of the pros have had breakdowns. And I remember a bit of early nastiness from Val towards Tamar plus disinterest towards Ginger, until he realized that they were going to the finals (no matter what.) So will we see any realness from this pairing or will we get another heavily manipulated season for the golden boy?
