DWTS Season 25, Week 4 – Who’s Dancing What…and When?
Week 4 already??? My, how time flies! I guess this means it’s time for “Most Memorable Year”, a week often filled with sob stories, contemporaries and other maudlin stuff. Hopefully it will be uplifting instead of draining this season. Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn’t. Ya never know until you get there.
Winners this week: Anyone doing contemporary, except those with a partner who isn’t good at contemporary. 🙂 Nikki and Jordan should be fine….Nick? Hard to say. Last time Peta wanted to do a contemporary she got outside help. Props to her for owning her own weak spot. Sharna also ought to do well with Derek, having Jazz.
Losers this week: Anyone doing a dance with rules competing against all those who have none. Judges have already shown they have no ability to make this distinction when it comes to scoring. That said, those with Foxtrot and Waltz will likely be fine. Drew and Jive?? Has potential to be either a disaster or illuminating that he really has gotten the hang of it. Vanessa and Rumba? Well, I would say that she’ll smash it, but that’s a pretty close dance to do with someone you’re struggling with. Could be very challenging.
Press release did say that only one person would be eliminated, so there’s that, anyway. 🙂
ETA: And Frankie moves to the first position! Nikki is getting hosed yet again – her running order just keeps getting worse. Why are they trying to hard to get rid of her??

I think the more relaxed dances should help some of the people on thin ice stick around a bit longer. Nervous for Frankie with Quickstep and Drew with Jive, but I’ve gotten the feeling they’re doing well with votes so far. So I’m not sure who would be eliminated Week 5 as a result of these performances.
I’m looking forward to Jordan and Lindsay’s Contemporary and Lindsey and Mark’s Viennese Waltz.
I have a feeling that this week Victoria will have the pimp spot followed by Lindsey closing out Disney Week with a funky Mark routine. Looking forward to this weeks dances. I do think that even though there is potential for high scores from contemporary dances, Len is usually stingy about giving 10s to them, especially this early in the competition. Very confused on how Adventure of a Lifetime is going to be a quickstep. Interesting that Adventure of a Lifetime and I Have Nothing are both being used again when Ginger just danced to them last year. Falling Slowly is such a great song and I hope Nick doesn’t butcher the dance to it!!!
Most memorable year is probably my least favorite theme of each season as they are pretty similar each season and not really a fan of contemporaries and MMY is full of them. Winners are pretty much everyone with the exception of Frankie, Drew, and possible Vanessa. Nick gets a contemporary right after doing a jazz which are pretty much the two with no rules. They should’ve spaced those two out a little more. I guess they are trying to help his scores. Usually people with the fast paced dances don’t fair out as well on MMY, but we will have to see how Frankie and Drew do.
The 2 people I am excited to see this week are Jordan & Derek. Both have dances that should suit them very well, I’ve always been a fan of Sharna’s jazz routines, and I love almost everything Lindsay choreographs.
Jordan is digging deep into his story about his rough childhood and I can’t wait to see the emotional side of him come out in dance, since we’ve seen the excited Jordan every week. Sharna just confirmed Derek is going to be talking about his daughter, who I believe had a very rare cancer at a young age. I believe the two of these celebs are going to inspire us this week, along with everyone else I’m sure 🙂
Definitely think that Nikki, Jordan, Lindsey, Derek will be scored higher. Nikki and Jordan having contemporary along with the fact that their dances will be emotional and Nikki’s empowering should lead to a huge come back for her. I always love Mark’s V Waltz’s and the high probability that Lindsey is doing her dance about her best friend Gavi’s passing will add a huge layer of emotion. Derek getting Jazz is great but I think it’s going to be a situation where they hand it to him give him great scores to send him on his way on a high note which is crap because he should outlast TO and Nick but I digress. I think potentially Victoria could see some higher scores as well.
I think Nick has the potential to be overscored too even if he doesn’t necessarily deserve it. Which I feel he probably won’t get the scores he should be given but I have already accepted that this will come to pass since TPTB are going to want to keep him around a few more weeks.
I’m most concerned about Drew with the Jive I’m hoping that since this week it seems like he was on an uphill turn that he continues to go up and not fall back down. Vanessa with Rumba could prove to be an issue with the tension between her and Maks but maybe they’ll be able to fake it until they make it as the saying goes.
But overall I’m actually pretty excited for a lot of these dances. I already have my tissues ready because I know I’m going to be very emotional come the end of the night. I would say Jordan and Lindsey’s the two that I’m most excited for because we’ll get to see great dancing coupled with really good emotional backstories for both of them.
Nobody has a “charmed life”. There is always something even if they just feel guilty for all the breaks they have gotten. That said looking forward to Jordon, Lindsey,Derek and Drew. Must say Jordon and Drew are my favorites so far this season. Routing for the female pros this year and am tired of the male pros drama (primarily the Chris (if you want someone from that group – please bring back Tony (he was such a gentleman and a professional – granted very white teeth but a great smile).

Is there a chance Lindsey and Mark may be penalized for song tempo?
This really feels tailor made for Jordan, although it seems unlikely he’ll be the final dance of the night twice in a row.
Victoria will be the last dance. I’ll happily put my mortgage on that.
I love Emma’s jives so I hope Drew does well with it.
Maks and Vanessa doing Rumba…..oy! After the rumors of last week’s absence, this ought to be interesting. Poor Vanessa. She’s so funny and positive and then there’s Maks.
Maks rumba will prob fall into the contemp-a-rumba. You know the angst face, the spin, the walking, the almost kiss, running away, being pulled back, more spin, more angst face. Rinse repeat, the end.
I just listened to Lindsay and Jordan’s song and I’ve been crying already. So beautiful.
Can’t wait to see them put in motion on Monday night.

M8…I agree, they will kept us wondering about them all night long. More suspense and drama. I have nothing against Venessa; in fact, she seems to be excited to be on the show. She deserves the same treatment that other pros give their partners. Maybe Maks should have gotten Nikki instead, since she body slams her partner. 🙂
Seriously though, looking at the dances and songs, I’m looking forward Lindsey & Mark’s V. Walts. Beautiful song. Jordan & Lindsay’s contemporary, Drew & Emma’s jive (should be fun) and hoping Frankie does well with their quickstep.
I’m looking forward to Jordan and Linds Contemporary. The song they have is beautiful and I know its going to be an emotional one already.
Nikki and Artem
Finally, it looks like something has been spun in Nikki’s favor. Not sure how good Artem is with contemporary, but at least they’re getting a dance that typically means high scores. Hoping this isn’t a farewell dance.
Victoria and Val
I love Victoria’s story, but knowing Val, this won’t be the best depiction, and it won’t be very foxtrot-like either. However, I don’t think this dance will detract from Victoria’s trajectory.
Derek and Sharna
What a great song. It’s so fun and bright. Perfect for a piece about Derek’s daughter. I can’t wait to see Sharna’s jazz choreography for this. Also, I’m wishing this will be a good week for Derek.
Sasha and Gleb
I’m not sure what to say about these two, but I’m guessing they’ll be eliminated next week. Hopefully, Gleb does some better work to commemorate Sasha’s MMY.
Nick and Peta
Every time these 2 come on, I zone out a lot. Just so boring and hard to watch sometimes. I doubt contemporary will help them out, other than in scores.
Jordan and Lindsay
So happy that Jordan is getting a chance to peel back the layers. It’s been a while since Lindsay has done a contemporary, and I think Jordan is a great partner to execute her vision. Really hope this dance will sway the audience.
Drew and Emma
This is one of the few happy dances of the bunch, I’m guessing, so it may have less impact, but Drew and Emma don’t seem to be in danger. However, this will probably not be Drew’s best dance.
Vanessa and Maks
This will probably be about the Lachey children, which is sweet. I’m still confused about the whole Maks drama, and I don’t have super high expectations for this dance. I wonder if this whole thing is just a publicity stunt?
Terrell and Cheryl
Interesting song choice and curious what TO will have as his MMY. The question for me is whether it’ll help or hurt him. I don’t know much about his career, but TO doesn’t have the best reputation.
Lindsey and Mark
It may be a Viennese Waltz, but Mark’s choreography will likely be superior to most of the contemporaries of the night. I can’t wait to see what Lindsey’s MMY year is and Mark’s dance interpretation.
Frankie and Whitney
Just from initial impression, this seems like one of the two happier dances of MMY night. Not sure if it’ll be less impactful than the tearjerkers, but I always love Frankie’s energy, so I’m sure it’ll be fun.
Interested in seeing if Maks and Vanessa go first or last. I suspect the producers like the drama of will they or won’t they dance, so last would fit, but I also think they want damage control. They tried to make this season all about the married couples against each other, that is quickly going south with Nick’s bad dancing and now this. They also seem to think of Maks as one of their top pros and need to stop all the bad press, so getting them out there first and all lovey dovey helps them also. What will help the fans is for Nick & Vanessa to go so we can get down to a real show. Sorry for Vanessa, I believe she really wanted to be there, Nick not really. No pity for Maks, he needs to go and be the stay at home Dad. Peta doesn’t seem every invested in this season so I don’t think it will be too upsetting for her.
Ugh, these theme weeks. When you think about it, the first half of the season, imparticular, provides a certain immunity for underperforming couples: First week is a nervy icebreaker, second the ‘pressure’ of two dance vignettes, third themes/songs that don’t fit dance styles and now a week where the stories override any valid technique critique. So I always feel that the people who infuse some actual, befitting content get shortchanged while the fluffers get much pass.
I’m actually mixed on personal story week. One on hand, it is a nice way to get to know the contestants and most all contestants are able to get out of their heads and connect with the dance. On the other, in addition to my psw aforegripe, it’s always so heavy and draining. At least there are a few more upbeat dance styles slated than usual to help balance things out this time around. I’m oddly most curious to see how Terrell does with a pretty dance.
Val is really pushing the drama… ¬¬ I’m really not too interested in this week. =/ I’m looking foward just on frankie, lindsey and jordan.
I love Lindsey’s song so much. Can’t wait to see what she and Mark do with it. Also love Drew’s song, I hope the band does it justice and could they have given Drew a bigger challenge? Maybe Emma figures his story may not have the punch of some of the others so might as well go all out.
Also look forward to Jordan and Frankie. Those four would be my ideal final four.
Victoria’s song sounds stale, but I’m sure the storyline will be the hit of the evening. Val doesn’t deserve the gift he’s been given this season. He should at least have to work for it. I’m really starting to see the diva he’s become.
Can Maks and Vanessa just go please, and take the other couple with you. Talk about a let down. Once again they build up Maks and Peta and get next to nothing except a bunch of childish drama.
I can’t wait to see what Artem has come up with for Nikki! The pop she got when she finally got to make her comeback to the ring after suffering a career ending neck injury was huge! Hopefully this will be her “comeback” week with this dance!
I’m also excited to see Drew & Frankie dance as well.
Like Wynn #19, I have that love/hate with MMY.
Part of me wants to see a different, more relatable side of the Stars. Like it’d be nice to hear Jordan talk about being raised by his grandparents because I had a similar upbringing.
The other part of me wonders why MMY makes me feel like I am stuck in an elementary school talent show where too many girls chose to sing “Wind Beneath My Wings”?
Excited to see TO and Cheryl dance to such an iconic song. Hopefully it’s better than Ginger and Val’s performance…it was way too stop and go for me and no flow.
His dance is dedicated to his Grandmother who raised him and the year she passed away. It’ll probably show a softer more serious side to him…just hope it’s not over praised by the judges and thus hinting towards their elimination. ????
Wish they’d perform last on Monday, but I doubt it.
I think Victoria and Val will perform first or last, but whoever performs last will prob get the highest score of the night and be announced safe right after a tear filled triple 9 score.
Are we looking for the performance order from the dwts InstaStory again? Because it seems like first up is Lindsey and Mark, then Jordan and Lindsay. That’s crazy to be putting both powerhouses together at the beginning of the show?
