Lindsay Arnold To Dance In New Four Week Dancing With The Stars Sports Edition And More News
TRIB Live interviewed Lindsay Arnold on the new Dancing With The Stars tour. She talks of why the show is different and fun this time. There are also mentions on the new Dancing With The Stars Sports Edition. Note how Lindsay says the new mini season will last 4 weeks and she’ll be back for it. More below including Sasha Farber and Emma Slater wedding talk as well….
The show also features professional dancers Alan Bersten, Sharna Burgess, Artem Chigvintsev, Keo Motsepe, Gleb Savchenko, Emma Slater, Sasha Farber, Jenna Johnson, Hayley Erbert and Brandon Armstrong, showcasing original pieces choreographed by Emmy Award-winning choreographer Mandy Moore and ballroom and contemporary dances from the TV show.
“We are doing the freestyle, the samba, our Disney week foxtrot and our Charleston,” Arnold says. “Jordan and I also dance in a lot of new group numbers, so that is something new and different that people haven’t seen.”
Both Arnold and Fisher overcame injuries during the regular dance season.
“The biggest challenge was the semifinals because of the injuries,” she says. “I hurt my knee the day before the show and didn’t know if I was going to be able to dance. On top of that, I stabbed Jordan’s eye with my fingernail and he was pretty much blind during the live show. We wanted it so bad, we knew we had to rely on each other and work together and we somehow made it happen.”
Arnold says she’ll be back for the spring season of “Dancing with the Stars,” which will feature a mini four-week “all athletes” edition. Her immediate plans after the live tour ends in March include attending Farber’s and Slater’s wedding and taking some time off for a family vacation in Mexico.

Really no surprise that Lindsay will be back, although I am happy that she is. What else is she gonna do? Pro dancers are kinda limited because I think that Hollywood is not really knocking down their door to do other stuff that would really matter. Derek and Mark are exceptions, but I do think they are more talented in other arenas, whereas with some of the other dance pros, it could be a hit or miss. I hope she gets a good dance partner, but since she won the MBT last season, I am not expecting much. Just look at Emma, MBT one season, next season she gets a partner that really can’t dance that well.
Gee, Darlene, you mean that guy she took to fourth place?
Also, you forgot Julianne when talking about pros who are talented in other areas. Peta also just finished a movie but we’ll have to wait and see how that works out.
@Darlene WOW you don’t have high expectations for how a lot of the pros spend their off time LOL I ain’t a fan of the Chmerkovskiy Bros but they’re keeping themselves quite busy, it seems, along with Peta during the spring time so those are 3 VETERAN pros NOT doing this mini-athlete season. So I’m gonna assume that the majority of the veteran pros that, usually, headline a normal DWTS season WILL NOT be doing this little 4 week thing-that would mean no Maks, Val, Peta, Mark, Cheryl. So who are the producers going to rely on? They’re going to rely on the pros headlining the tour-Lindsay, Emma, Sasha, Artem, maybe Jenna might be given a chance again?, maybe Witney will do it since she didn’t do tour?, Keo and who knows there might not be 12 couples for this small 4 week stint. Again I’m just speculating about all of this. My biggest point I’m trying to make is that Lindsay shouldn’t be considered ‘limited’ or ‘not expected much’ of her just because she’s doing this short season. It wasn’t a fluke that she won that mirrorball-she earned it and deserved it and she’s just as good as any other pro on that show-veteran or otherwise.
I love Lindsay. Saw the tour last night and enjoyed all the numbers with her and Jordan. He fit right in there with the pros. It did seem like they did
More numbers than the others. But a few of them included the rest of the cast so I enjoyed it even more.
@anonymous I didn’t say anywhere in my post that Lindsay did not deserve the MBT, nor that it was a fluke that she won. If I did, please point it out to me. I did not downgrade Lindsay’s talent, I am saying the producers will probably not give her a good dancer, because she won with Jordan. It is very rare that a pro dancer wins a MBT 2 times in a row because of the celeb partners they are assigned to. And IMHO, Drew Scott got into the finals because of his popularity and he had a popular dance pro, I don’t think it was due to his dancing skills.
If Lindsay gets a good partner I will be happy for her. It’s not unusual for a Pro to win back to back when they are as good as Lindsay it can happen. She is a good choreographer and I enjoy her creations, dancing, her sweetness and attitude. I think many of the Pros and Troupe dancers will be back who have been on tour according to how many athletes are on the cast list. I also hope to see Alan back on the cast list to see more of what he can do especially with a potential partner. My biggest reason to watch the show is for the dancing.
@Darlene Go back and reread my comments because I repeated YOUR words so please do not put words in my mouth. YOU are the one who stated that YOU feel that “pro dancers are kinda limited” and you’re “not expecting much” from Lindsay next season. Those were YOUR WORDS not mine. I NEVER SAID that you stated that Lindsay never deserved the MBT or it was a fluke she won. I stated the total opposite to make a point to you!! So again-DONT PUT WORDS IN MY MOUTH PLEASE. THANK YOU.
SECOND-in the history of DWTS, it has not been RARE that a pro has won that trophy 2x in a row-Go do your research and look back honey;)
And what does Drew Scott have to do with any of this?????????
