and the Judges’ Scores, Along with Last Week’s Viewer VotesAfter three weeks of stunning competitive dancing, the final three couples advance to the finals of “Dancing with the Stars: Athletes,” live on MONDAY, MAY 21 (8:00-9:00 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network, streaming and on demand. It’s been a very close race this season, and each and every couple has stepped up to the plate and given their all on the ballroom floor.
All 10 of the athletes are set to reunite for a spectacular dance number. As for the three finalist couples, each will perform two dances. The first round will be inspired by their journey on the show, and each couple will perform a jazz, foxtrot or Viennese waltz routine. The second round will be a no-holds-barred freestyle dance. At the end of the night, based on “last chance” live viewer votes in the EDT/CDT time zones via ABC.com and Facebook, as well as the judges’ scores and last week’s viewer votes, one couple will be crowned the champion, culminating an incredible season, and take home the special Athletes Mirrorball trophy.
Each couple will dance to the following songs (in alphabetical order):
Adam Rippon and Jenna Johnson – Jazz – “Anything You Can Do” from “Annie Get Your Gun” – The new Broadway cast recording
Josh Norman and Sharna Burgess – Foxtrot – “Conqueror” by “Empire” cast, featuring Estelle and Jussie Smollett
Tonya Harding and Sasha Farber – Viennese Waltz – “The Time of My Life” by David Cook
Each couple will dance freestyle to the following songs (in alphabetical order):
Adam Rippon and Jenna Johnson – “Scooby Doo Pa Pa” by DJ Kass
Josh Norman and Sharna Burgess – “Walk on Water” by Thirty Seconds to Mars
Tonya Harding and Sasha Farber – “I Will Survive” by The Pussycat Dolls
Hosted by two-time Emmy®-winning host Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews, “Dancing with the Stars: Athletes” is the hit series in which athletes perform choreographed dance routines that are judged by a panel of renowned ballroom experts, including head judge, Len Goodman, and dancers/choreographers Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba.
In week four, which airs at 8:00 p.m. EDT/7:00 p.m. CDT on Monday, May 21, this season’s champion will be determined based on that night’s judges’ scores and last week’s viewer votes, along with the results of a “last chance” vote during the live broadcast of the finale. Fans can vote online during the live broadcast in the Eastern and Central time zones at ABC.com at http://dwtsvote.abc.go.com/ and on Facebook at http://bit.ly/2o1VO7b. This “last chance” vote will open after all three couples have finished their final dance and will remain open for a few minutes before the champion is crowned.
Wait a JAZZ in the finale? So Adam had contemporary last week, jazz and freestyle this week.. so basically 3 dances with no rules? Yikes maybe he’s not getting the votes I thought he was! It was a 4 week season so basically hes only learned Cha Cha and quickstep, the rest are basically freestyles. Disappointed, he had potential to have some really solid dances like a samba or rumba.
Yes, I agree with Anonymous. He should do another dance. I guess it gives him an edge, with the other two doing ballroom dances. But I would have assumed he didn’t need an edge. The show hasn’t really challenged him to step outside his comfort zone.
I also agree with you Anonymous. In a regular 10 wk show, I don’t think I ever remember a celeb doing contemporary, jazz, and then freestyle all in a row. I would have loved to have seen a Paso Doble (more than just one couple) or Argentine Tango. They are two of my favorite Latin dances.
Thank you, Vogue, for posting next weeks dances and songs.
No more 4 week shows for DWTS Please!!!
I agree. I was hoping with only four weeks we might only get core Ballroom and Latin dances but alas…and even those few scant did see we were rather hodgepodge in certain cases. Been looking forward to seeing Josh do a ballroom dance, so good there and I feel like we’ve at least gotten to see a lil bit of everything from him (as much as the short format allows anyway). Too much ballroom for Tonya and I would’ve liked to have seen each her and particularly Adam do a more aggressive dance like Paso or AT.
I agree with the above. From week 1 it felt like they were giving Adam an advantage with his dance styles. No Paso Doble (one of the toughest male dances), waltz, foxtrot, rumba, tangos, etc…
Ugh. I’m so disappointed. Can’t they just stop with the manipulations? It makes me want Tonya and Sasha to win even more. I feel like Jenna already got the easiest celeb and making it easier for her to win is just unfair towards Sasha and especially Sharna who has worked so dang hard for several regularly long seasons.
