PureDWTS Season 27 – Mark Ballas to Join Cast of Broadway’s “Kinky Boots”
Congrats are in order to Mark – he’s going to be the new lead in the Broadway run of Kinky Boots:
Step aside: There’s a new Charlie on the block. Starting Sept. 11, Dancing With the Stars alum Mark Ballas is set to take over the lead role of shoemaker Charlie Price in the current Broadway run of Kinky Boots.
Ballas succeeds David Cook, who reprised the role last month following his original, month-long stint earlier in April. The Emmy-nominated dancer will play the part through Nov. 4.
I think Mark’s found his new niche – Broadway seems to fit his repertoire of talents well 🙂 I think this pretty much excludes him from the fall season of DWTS, but I think we all had gotten the impression that he was done with DWTS anyway. Glad to see him moving onto new ventures where his talent is appreciated!
Good for him! I agree Broadway/musicals seem to be a perfect fit for his passion and creativity. Congratulations Mark
Right On Valerie W! You know, everytime I read something about a new gig that he has I go CRAZY because he is finally being appreciated and recognized for his talent and is Finally getting the credit that he deserves. This is definitely a perfect fit for Mark because he is finally being more exposure outside of DWTS.
I hope that someday, this will lead to Grammys and Tony Awards. It’s amazing how someone can be taken for granted in one place and is being recognized, noticed and rewarded for their talent in another place. This is gonna turn out perfect for him just like Jersey Boys.
H1994, ENOUGH. We get it – you’re obsessed with Mark, and want everyone to know how happy you are for him, and how you think he was screwed on DWTS. But for Pete’s sake, MOVE ON. You’re spamming at this point.
You know who H1994 really is, don’t you Court?? May as well block her ass right now.
You know, H1994 (aka CH the obsessed Mark fan), you don’t get Grammy’s or Tony’s for taking over someone else’s role in an ongoing musical. Is Mark’s singing in Jersey Boys fantastic?? Of course. But there are hundreds of amazing singers and dancers on Broadway. Including the last several (unknown) men who played this role in Kinky Boots. You’re whining about how he’s taken for granted in “one place” – get over it and move on. He’s doing well – why do you care what we or DWTS have to say (or not say) about it?? Insecure much??
Now, when he OPENS a musical on Broadway we can talk. But probably not with you since we’ll keep blocking you until you and your special brand of crazy are gone for good.
