Well, today’s the day!! Christie Brinkley? Hannah B? Gronk, Camille, Jessica..? Michael, Magic, Kobe?? Who the hell knows. I’d be willing to bet that close to half the cast we won’t be surprised about. Just say no to Abby Lee Miller. Sweet Jesus.
And, unfortunately, it sounds like a lot of the pros will be back. Sorry – love the women – but I feel the male side needs a good solid shake. 🙂

Of course they had to ask Ginger if she saw her dance partner, Val, upstairs and she of course says yes. Lord, get over it already.

Uptown is Christie Brinkley, IMO. I don’t have rewind capability…other clues? “Office”?? Rainn Wilson? That could be interesting. Crossing the Creek…James Van Der Beek? Joshua Jackson?

On the first tease, Court think in addition to Christie, it’s some one from Schitt’s Creek (shows how old I am) and Angela Kinsey from the Office. Maybe Chris Elliott in the middle.
“Here for the Right Reason” is Hannah. I caught sight of a new male pro. Court says cry guy is Michael Jordan.
Sharna is out….Daniella and Pasha from WoD are IN. I saw Daniella twice on Derek’s tour and I’ve never seen a better female dancer. The other women are going to have to up their game in a huge way.
I thought Emma was a new chick. 🙂 Nice dancing, featuring Peta for some mysterious reason.

Ray Lewis is an interesting get as a footballer. Had some legal issues in his past and also has some interesting end zone dances. 🙂
And they’re going to reveal the remaining star after the commercial. That means that two of the dancers on GMA are troupe dancers. I’ll be bummed if it’s Daniella and Pasha. Six women and six men celebrities. Looks like that could be it. I bet they’re not called troupe, but featured dancers, if it’s really only those two. They are very recent champions and dance better than any of the pros currently on the show. But that doesn’t mean they can choreograph. And Danielle did have to think hard before joining Derek’s tour, which would take her out of competition for a bit.

Ally is doing the show to stop “the haters” – she was with 5th Harmony and got mean comments about her dancing. She seems sweet.
And our final contestant is….Mary Wilson as revealed by the folks on twitter. All her kids and grandkids are thrilled that she’s on the show. She’s now the cool grandma. She looks like she has the moves. 🙂
This next bit with the little ballroom dancers meeting the cast ought to be good. Yep, crying and hyperventilating. 🙂
Dang, they are dedicating a LOT of time to this announcement. Anyway, this cast has potential, I think. But we’ll have to wait and see.

Well, I’m intrigued by their talk of “big surprises”. Curious if the pre show hype delivers.
I agree about the pros, although there are some ladies I’d rather see replaced too but I’m still surprised that some of the guys are back. I’m just hoping Maks doesn’t somehow show up.
This is the first dwts season in a long time that I don’t know at least 75% of the cast ahead of reveal
the basketballer might be Kobe Bryant, but anyways based on the hint, his hands looked old
basketball hint makes me think of a retired basketballer, his hands made me think of someone not too young anymore
Didn’t need any reminders of Bobby.
With that hint maybe Christie is in? If she really was supposed to be Artem’s partner I wonder if he might be bitter that he wasn’t asked back if she decided to do the show after all.
hope Emma gets a good celeb partner, i loved her with John last time and he wasn’t really into the big contender category, but yet had a nice attempt at Paso with beetlejuice, i enjoyed that dance
as for stand up comedian/comedian slot, i’d love Jeff Dunham there, look he might not be worlds best dancer, but maybe he might make a good comedy duffer with his personality

@Nicky I also hope Emma gets someone good this season, yet I feel like we might see the same kind of pairings we usually get. I can see them giving Sharna (if she’s back) a ringer after Bobby last season. I was annoyed with the judges last season for some of their criticism of John, because I thought she gave him good choreography and they seemed to try and find flaws wherever they could. However, Emma tends to do well even with not so great partners. I can’t say the same for some of the other pros. Some of them only seem to do well if their partner already has talent.

Not sad that Sharna is out. I loved Daniella and Pasha and hoped they would join the show someday. I agree about Daniella, only saw clips of her on the tour but she looked amazing.
Don’t like that we won’t know the partnerships until the first show.

As a 90’s kid I’m hype for Kel Mitchell, but otherwise aside from Kel and Christie I’m underwhelmed by the cast. Sean Spicer came out of nowhere, Kate seems like a delightful person, and MYSTERY CONTESTANT *crosses fingers* please sweet baby jesus no Abby Lee Miller, let it be anyone else.
I actually love this cast….except for Lamar. Sean could be be fun a thing least if they give him a mobilized podium and some gum ????. No sharna….punishment for Bobby and how he got a lot of votes via his internet complaining perhaps? All for that

No Sharna? Pasha and Daniella will have to learn this is not about their dancing, it’s about making their celebrity look great. Lots of pros make this mistake.
Haven’t read many people upset by Sharna departure. I feel sad for her not being allowed to defend her title. Sasha and Alan are the only male pros who deserve to be on the show imho

Welp, despite my reservations about how truly C/D list the cast is, I do with them luck and hope they have fun and hope we are all entertained. Maybe a lesser star studded cast will mean more focus on dance and less on story. Have a good week all. 🙂

I’ve been looking up the ladies heights to see who Sasha is most likely to get. Ally is the shortest but he could also be partnered with Mary or Kate. Lauren followed Alan so I feel like they might be a pair? Christie and Hannah seem like Gleb and Val types. I’d love to see Emma get James or Kel. This is going to be a long wait until September. Hopefully the spoilers don’t let me down.
I could also see Ally be partners with Brandon or Alan, if he’s not with Lauren.
I don’t think Daniella or Pasha are getting partners, but I’d love to be proven wrong.

As I said in the post, the troupe has apparently been disbanded.
I think Daniella and Pasha may be “featured dancers” and not have partners, but we’ll see. They are AMAZING. Danielle is the only woman to dance with Derek that made me look at her just as much as him…if not more. She’s that good.
Early impressions so far are promising. James is a 90s icon who happens to be competing against another 90s icon in kel and I’d say Kel has a slight edge since he seems to be able to dance. Christie is a sweetheart and Mary seems like a blast. Karamo is my front runner I think and Lamar I feel like even if he can dance will be an early out. Sean is Sean ????. No other way around it lol. Ally seems like a fun person….also thought the same thing about another 5th Harmony member too and didn’t like her in the end….hopefully she can avoid that. Ray….kinda not feeling anything other than:I like him yet he reminds me of Doug flutie. Lauren…god bless her lol. Kate 🙂 hilarious. Hannah should be good but at the same time it depends on how America thinks and if they thinks she is milking that fifteen minutes of fame.
Damn, I thought they were going to a sports angle like they did when the Cubs won the World Series after over 100 years and get a Blue on there since they won it for the first time ever.

There’s a lot of current and previous success in this list. You don’t see that every day on this show.
Excited for James and Kate. Surprised Kate didn’t do this a long time ago. I thought James was better than this, any of the leads from Dawson’s Creek is above this show, honestly, but whatever, like Mark Paul Gosselar, he went from teen crush to a really good and very funny actor.
Ally, lol, this was who I thought Normani was when she was announced years ago with Val. My initial reaction was “she’s the worst in the group” or whatever. Turns out it wasn’t her. But here she is now. I guess I’m one of the haters.
Good that Hannah is milking every second of this. I think she’s gonna be somebody. She seems like a girl that can break through further than the Bachelor franchise.

As for the rest…..yeah Ray Lewis had legal issues–the man GOT AWAY WITH MURDER.
Lamar is a drug addict that cheated on Khloe K. Hannah from The Bachelorette, well I know FAR too much about her because of the debacle that occurred during her season and the fact that it was on the cover of People magazine a few weeks back to which I have a free subscription…and it was talked about on all the local radio stations as well…..Lauren Alaina is a country music star and Christian. She is dating John Crist, who is a Christian Comedian.

The cast makes me go yawn and I plan to ship this season although I’ll visit for Courtney’s power rankings those are always fun to read
I was hoping they would give Hayley a chance to move up but I guess not, would rather have seen her rather than Cheryl. Does this mean she is off the show, since I’m hearing no troupe
Last year, I only recognized one celebrity. This year, at least I recognize more than half of the lineup. If they eliminate Sean in the first week, I’d be even happier.
I was kinda hoping to see a Drag Race star since both Strictly and DWTS Australia have done so this year. But I can’t wait to see the “Queer Eye” crew cheer on Karamo. I also hope that Christie shows that age is just a number.
On the GMA Instagram story they posted a picture of the the new pro (Daniella), Emma, witney, Lindsay, Jenna and peta asking who their partners will be. I know that isn’t dancing with the stars saying anything confirming those ladies are the partners this season and Cheryl is a feature dancer pro but I thought that was interesting and something to consider. Not anything official so please don’t think I’m sending you on a wild goose chase or anything.
I just hope Ally is paired with anyone (preferably Sasha) but Val, or I’m gonna throw up if he gets ANOTHER partner with dance/performance experience! I was hoping to see some older pros back, like Karina instead of two new people we don’t know much about. Brittany Cherry and Oksana, for example, are great dancers who can teach and choreograph, but never got a chance…
I hope Vlad and Hayley are still on the show. Also, someone predicted above that Lamar will be paired with Jenna; I think Cheryl, for her experience and personality, would be a better partner for him.
Well I am sad it appears Hayley is no longer with the show. I would much rather have her than Peta.
Just throwing this out there, but Cheryl was paired with Rob Kardashian, who was of course very close with Lamar. I could see Lamar requesting Cheryl as his partner if he did the show.
Just watching on DVR and all I can say is Daniella is STUNNING. Sure hope she is featured frequently on the show. Her dance with Keo – WOW. No question in my mind she is the best dancer on that floor.

I hope Peta has Kel, I’d love to see her get someone who can dance for once! I think Cheryl would be good for Lamar, but also Lindsay bc she’s so positive, her energy is so contagious, it would be good for him too 🙂
