PureDWTS Preliminary POLL: Who Are You Rooting For?
Normally, we’d be voting on partnerships (rather than just celebs), but given that we aren’t going to find out the partnerships officially until the premiere in 3.5 weeks, right now we’re just sticking to celebs. Based on first impressions from the cast announcement, who is your favorite? Who do you think will win? Who will be first out? Who will make the finals? Vote and tell us more in the comments!
I just wish it was Melissa McCarthy dressed up as Sean Spicer and not the real dude.
I voted Kel for the first poll, Karamo for the second, Lamar Odom for the third, and for the last I picked Kel, Karemo, Ally, and James.
I thought Lamar seemed kind of over it already this morning. Probably not the first out, it I’d be surprised to see him last long. I’d be surprised if anyone but Sean wasn’t first to go. think Ally has the best shot of making the finals as well as Hannah. For purely nostalgic reasons Kel is my #1 right now!
I honestly just want Sean and Ray to go home first, but I voted Sean as first eliminated. I feel like a lot of other cast members and public feel similarly.
I honestly want Kate to win, despite the fact that she might be a low hanging fruit I think if she’s semi-decent and keeps improving “The Office” fandom might keep her around for a while. Also she was the only one on that platform who I didn’t know of that I warmed up to right away, and I only know Kel Mitchell and Christie Brinkley.
My favorites are Kel and Kate, everyone else seems very out of place honestly.
I think the final 4 should be Kel, Kate, Karamo, and Hannah (or Ally). What I think will actually happen: Karamo, Hannah, Ally, and Lauren with an outside chance of Karamo, Kate, Kel, and Lauren. Something about Kate just gives me great vibes that she’ll do well.
1. Christie Brinkley
2. Christie Brinkley
3. Sean Spicer
I love Karamo and Hannah! And Ally.
I wish the media or shows like DWTS would stop giving platforms to people like Spencer but I’m not surprised. Watch Sarah Sanders be on next year.
I was a bit disappointed in the cast, as I thought based on some of the hints, they would be different people but Im also excited (I think because it’s only running once per year now).
Sorry to throw a wrench in your fantasy Dancing plans, but consider this option:
Who loves reality shows?
Who loves to talk about ratings/crowd sizes?
Who may not be able to resist tweeting out his friends # on Mondays?
POTUS!
Spicey may be our next MBT winner!
Or so many people stop watching the show that it is permanently cancelled.
@Jessica
Giving him a platform?? Give him a chance, if comes on the show spouting Trump garbage, OK, but he is a human being, let’s see what he does and what story he is trying to tell before folks like you just play judge, jury and executioner.

If the White House does choose to weigh in and call attn to DWTS, it may cause a huge, temporary spike for this season only.
Agree that long term it may hasten the demise.
Don’t tell people what to do, Todd, or you won’t be posting here long.
I think you, and the producers, are seriously underestimating the level of rage this is causing. My timeline is nuts. And I don’t blame them at all.
Call me crazy, but based on absolutely nothing but gut instinct, I think James might be the dark horse this season.
I expect Christie, Karamo, Kel and Hannah will do well. I’m guessing Sean, Ray and Lamar to be early outs.
We’ll see.
@Todd I don’t want to get political on here but it was my first initial thought when I saw him on the cast. I’m not surprised he was cast (just as I wasn’t when Marla Maples was cast when she was). I think there are people who you love to hear redemption stories from (Andy Dick was one of my favorites) but I wish this season, during this political time, DWTS stayed away from politics or political figures. If you read Tom’s instagram post from today, I agree with everything he said.
Giving a negationist a chance @Todd ? Are you joking ?
I plan to not pay any attention towards him and I just hope he will be gone first (sorry for whoever is his partner.)
This is the only time I will bring up politics on this site. ABC never should have put Sean Spicer on the cast. With everything going on in this country, with the division that has been brought upon the country pitting Americans against each other, with the hatred that is shown sadly on a daily basis, this show should be an hour that people can escape all of it. I will watch, I will hope that he’s off first, if not second. I have to hope that any viewer that supports what’s going on in DC right now will not be voting in numbers enough to keep him on so there isn’t another Bristol Palin/Bobby Bones situation. Do I think ABC should rethink having him on the show? Yes, absolutely, but they won’t.
@Linda, I tend to agree about James. I was thinking today I could either see him maybe fizzling our early or making it to the semis or finals. I kind of feel that way about most of this cast. Sean, Ray, Lamar, and Christie I think could all be early boots. There’s a lot of people upset over Ray’s casting, though that is getting overshadowed by Sean.
Not knowing what other changes might be coming in terms of scoring and the judges say, I really don’t think bad dancers will make it far this season. Right now I think Lauren is a front runner to win and I could honestly see Hannah maybe pulling a win off, too. Kel, Karamo, and Ally are my other front runners. Kate could maybe go farther than expected. I never watched The Office, but a couple people I know who did (and still watch reruns) are tuning in for her.
Top 6 (in no particular order):
Hannah
Lauren
Ally
Karamo
Kel
James
Bottom 6 (in no particular order):
Mary
Christie
Kate
Sean
Lamar
Ray
Based on DWTS history, I predict Kate will be the first out…she seems the type that will dance decently but not make a big impression and she’s among the lesser known names on the cast.
