Dancing with the Stars Season 28, Week NINE – LIVE BLOG
And you thought the scoring was bad!! Apparently, you-know-who no longer has to do the Samba, but is doing a foxtrot instead. About which CAI will swoon over how he managed to hold Jenna’s hand the whole time and give him an 8. Haven’t all the remaining celebs beside him done a Samba?? You know it’s bad when they start changing the dances. I suppose everyone else will get a shit song that doesn’t match the dance style.
T-minus 30 minutes…
Remember to include context when commenting!!
Oh yeah, Emma Bunton bailed. I suspect she was tied up with the Christmas thing she’s taping.
Jaysus, S___ can’t even clap in time. Of course Joey has to dance in his….culotte’s. I don’t even know how to spell those short pants.
Girl Groups up first…and James is going first with his Jive. James was in an a cappella group in college. LOL. WAIT a second. We’re calling the Pointer Sisters a “girl group” – that seems a bit degrading to me. They ain’t Spice Girls.
This doesn’t feel very jive-y for the first third of the song. Something’s weird about this dance, but he looks hot so I can forgive a lot. 🙂
Len: To learn two dances is a tough call. Jive is very difficult. Liked the speed of the underarm turns, kicks and flicks were sharp and aggressive.
Joey: (Discussion of Joey’s pants split) I’ve been watching, you’re effortless, you make it look easy and it’s not.
Bruno: Blah Blah Blah…what a quarter final this is going to be. What you did you did very well. Could have had more pump into the leg (agreed). Brilliant.
CAI: Achieved excellence. What I love is there a smoothness and a finesse. Ahead of the music at first but got it on the chorus.
Scores: 9, 9, 9, 9 for a total of 36 out of 40
S___ is up next. I’m going to be pissed all night, especially since Ally IS doing a Samba.
Plodding. That’s all I got. Off time. (I lied) No dancing required.
Joey: Not easy being green. I’ve watched, and you give it 110% Frame was good, but the feet…fluidity is stompy. You can go farther, if you can get that.
Bruno: Don’t cry for S__. You tried very hard. At this stage ….more of a Argentine struggle. (Trumpers don’t like the truth, Bruno)
CAI: I appreciate the effort. I know you want to prove you should be here. The artistry is missing, how you go between the pictures.
Len: The best thing about it is that it wasn’t very long. Just moving about. Just walking about.
Totally agree with Len’s comments, but if he gives a 6 or higher he needs to just STFU.
Scores: 7, 6, 7, 6 for a 26 out of 40
SERIOUSLY?? 6’s and 7’s for that utter crap?? Every other contestant better get 9s or higher.
Hannah up next, dancing Salsa to “No Scrubs”.
So far, so good, she seem to be having fun and is doing a pretty darn good job. Nice lifts!! No fear! And that dress! Wow.
Bruno: So good to see your confidence growing. You shine brighter with every dance. Lost a bit of timing. Just lost it a couple of times.
CAI: Fierce, love the attitude. Lifts were a bit out of sorts.
Len: thought the lifts were good, got a bit ahead of the music. Full of Rhythm.
Joey: A little sloppy on the lifts.
This is more fucking critique than S__ Has EVER gotten.
Scores: 8, 8, 8, 8 for a total of 32 out of 40
Jesus Christ. She get’s 8s and a serious critique of nitpicking and S___ gets four “great job”. This show deserves to be cancelled. On top of that, S___ isn’t even doing the originally assigned dance – Samba. Which Ally and Hannah and others have had to do.
Ally up next to dance her SAMBA to the Spice Girls.
Love this song, but it ain’t much of a Samba. Love her outfit. She’s going a very nice job – did this dance seem short to anyone else?
CAI: That was amazing. You’re so in sync. So good in your technique, flawless.
Len: Recognizable Samba. Great technique. Fantastic dance.
Joey: No Samba roll. Amazing job.
Bruno: I want more of that! Proper, absolutely right samba.
Scores: 10, 10, 10, 10 for a total of 40
I liked the dance a lot but I don’t think it was four points better than James, nor what is 8 points better than Hannah – but neither of those two have been to the bottom two twice. So, there you go.
Lauren up next with a quickstep to the Supremes. Again, I object to the term girl group being applied to them.
I like Lauren. I wish Gleb was a better choreographer. Love her outfit. Off time right at the beginning. She does better down on the floor. Pretty darn good job!! I liked it once she came down the steps.
Len: Love the spin turn etc. Once you do stuff like that I’m a sucker for it. There were a few moments that weren’t dead on point. I liked it.
Joey: Couple little foot issues, but over all I thought it was good. Energy was good, frame was off.
Bruno: Captured the feel of a timeless classic. Very complex routine and the precision has to be spot on, but there were a couple of times it wasn’t there.
Again, all kinds of detailed critique and S___ gets nothing.
CAI: I thought it was great. I loved it.
Scores: 9, 9, 8, 8 for a total of 34 our of 40.
Hmmmmm….Hannah and Lauren get more serious critique and neither goes to talk to Erin, getting their scores on the floor with Tom. I guess we know who they want in the bottom two. Or who they feel confident won’t end up there. One or the other.
Kel is up next, talking about being a youth pastor. He’s dancing a Paso.
I love him. He’s really getting the hang of this show and these dances. Love the section with the male pros. He’s seems so natural at this. Love it.
Joey: Great job, knees could have come up, but awesome job.
Bruno: Powerful performance. Be careful not to close in the lines, keep extending the lines.
CAI: Free your arms, really small – you have to dance big. Not little hands.
Len: too many gimmicks and not enough Paso Doble in my world.
What the actual fucking hell?? Again, CAI and Len (and Joey and Bruno) give all kinds of critique like they should in the quarter finals but they DON’T do that to S___ and on top of that….grrrr…
Scores: 8, 8, 9, 9 for a total of 34 out of 40. Ridiculous. I thought that was as good as Ally’s dance.
James is dancing to N’sync Bye Bye Bye – Jazz
This is pretty awesome, although I think he’s a bit ahead of the music. He’s probably a better dancer than N’Sync. 🙂 Well that was too short. I wanted it to go on longer. James is looking goooooood.
Len: That was too much of a boy band. I would like more together dancing. Too much aggression.
Dude, it’s JAZZ
Joey: If I could give 100 I would. It’s all about the attitude, that was amazing. Awesome.
Bruno: blah, blah…could have been a little more together. More content.
CAI: That was really good. Amazing ability to give 300%. Be a little careful of your elbows. Everything matters at this point (say that to SS, idiot).
Scores: 9, 8, 10, 9 for a total of 36 out of 40. Seriously Len?? You gave a 6 to S___.
Numbers Update: Did a bit of guessing on the rest of the second round scores and this is what I got.
Sean vs. Hannah | 3.85% | 38,462 |
Sean vs. Lauren/Kel | 4.33% | 43,269 |
Sean vs. James | 4.81% | 48,077 |
Sean vs. Ally | 6.73% | 67,308 |
Hannah dancing tango to BTS – that will get her some votes, probably. Showing some stress in the rehearsal – maybe that will help with the Tango.
Go girl. Gorgeous dress. Sharp, quick. Pretty intense for a normally smiley girl. Wow. I thought that was excellent!!
Joey: Well, I have nothing to say – fantastic. Best dance of the night for me. Awesome.
Bruno: Purring like a kitten. Pure pleasure. What you did so well, elegance and passion. You were killing it. Old School hollywood glamour.
CAI: There is a lot of pressure, but if you want to win you have to bring A game every time. Thank you for bringing back your A Game.
Len: Good posture, Well done. Got a little loose on occasion.
Scores: 10, 9, 10, 10 for a 39 out of 40 That’s more like it!
S___ up next. :::sigh:::
Bruno: No surprises there. Consistent. Technique always goes in one direction – reverse. Presented it well. Wasn’t fluid. A bit clumpy.
CAI: Unfortunately you lost your step in the middle.
CAI if you really had standards you would never give this guy a 7. Spare me.
I can’t even type Len’s critique – too bizarre.
Joey: Again with the 110%. More about the feeling and the journey. You need to step up, but again, great job!
Scores: 6, 6, 6, 6, for a total of 24 our of 40. Still too high, but an improvement.
Numbers Update: Still have guesses in for Kel and Lauren, but here are the numbers with the scores so far (and those guesses):
Sean vs. Lauren/Kel | 4.84% | 48,426 |
Sean vs. Hannah | 5.08% | 50,847 |
Sean vs. James | 5.33% | 53,269 |
Sean vs. Ally | 7.26% | 72,639 |
Lauren and Gleb up next with a rumba – what the hell is Sasha doing in the background??
She looks gorgeous! She looks surprisingly comfortable with this dance. She’s holding up very well. Doing better than I expected, although Gleb didn’t give her that much to do, I don’t think.
CAI: I can’t believe how far you’ve come. Beautiful confidence and sensuality. Be careful – sometimes you hold your breath.
Len: I liked it very much, lovely fluid movement, well done.
Joey: the dancing you did was amazing. Really, really, really good.
Bruno: Smoky sultry. Lauren delivers (hot).
Scores: 9, 9, 9, 9 for a total of 36 out of 40.
Kel doing a V. Waltz…and he’s doing it very well!! He had one weird arm, but he seems to be leading and coping very, very well!
Len: I thought it was terrific, nice turns, put in the fleckle, really polished performance.
Joey: Really great job.
Bruno: You danced like a perfect gentleman, leading with a soft touch. Musical phrasing was great. Sensational.
CAI: Agree with all the judges, but what impressed me most was you took direction about the arms. Well done. That was beautiful.
Scores: 10, 10, 10, 10 for a perfect score of 40
Numbers UPDATE: If Ally gets another perfect score – which they might do to try to save her – this is how it will end up. This would be a big get if S__ survives.
Sean vs. Lauren | 4.80% | 47,962 |
Sean vs. Hannah | 5.04% | 50,360 |
Sean vs. James | 5.28% | 52,758 |
Sean vs. Kel | 5.76% | 57,554 |
Sean vs. Ally | 7.19% | 71,942 |
And doing a jazz to NKOTB means Ally should be able to land another 40. Girl, it’s not you that’s the problem and why you might get eliminated. She’s pretty much killing it although I thought I saw something weird at the beginning. I was only half watching. I really loved this dance – great job!!
Joey: Well done! I love the story telling, so much fun. Amazing – a great way to end the show.
Bruno: MTV awards, reminded me of Paula Abdul.
CAI: Just flawless, that felt like the finals and it was your freestyle. So much fun.
Len: Such a bubbly personality and it was reflected in the dance. The whole package.
Scores: 10, 10, 10, 10 for another perfect score. And my previous numbers remain accurate. Could be a record if Ally lands in the bottom again. I hope you all voted.
Here we goooo…Len blowing nose on camera. Great.
SAFE: Ally and Sasha
SAFE: Kel and Witney
SAFE: James and Emma
SAFE: Hannah and Alan
FINALLY, praise jesus.
CAI: (STFU) Lauren
Bruno: Lauren (thanks Sean because he’s been entertaining)
And S___ is eliminated. And it’s about time.
You guys saw the numbers – not really surprised because those were huge numbers to overcome. I don’t think it’s ever happened before. Lauren was likely only vulnerable because she had the lowest score after S___.
I liked Girl Group and Boy Band the first time they did it, but it wasn’t a theme I cared to see repeated. I personally don’t care for guest judges, and even though I like Joey, I’m sure he’s just going to over mark everyone and slather praise like most guest judges (I can see him giving Sean an 8 or even a 9).
I can’t wait to watch tonight episode
One minute in and Sean’s already stinking up the dance floor.
And wouldn’t be a boy band number without all the male pros taking their shirts off.
Yes, Sean is the only one who hasn’t done a samba since Ally is doing one tonight.
Joey fatone 🙂 that alone made me smile. James was the perfect opening forbtonightnsinxe he seemed very excited. I’d give that a 10. Couldn’t find anything I didn’t like in it
James and Emma really know how to open a show! That was an amazing jive!
I enjoyed James’s dance-great start to the night.
I swear if S*** S***** is safe I’m gonna flip every table in the house.
Love James’ explanation of acapella! And Emma is soooooo beautiful!
S3an cannot dance. He’s just a brick. And his commentary to show he’s worthy. LOL You’re not worthy, bud. And carrie anne do not tell him he is. It’s not nice to lie.
Jenna was very bold letting Sean hold her upside down like that. I’d be afraid he’d drop me with his lack of dancing ability.
Wow Len actually criticized the dance and then didn’t add something nice about it. And yet still gave it a 6.
CAI and Bruno must if gotten a talking to cause they were a little too nice. Len clearly not hiding that he does not like Sean. Don’t know why the crowd is booing it’s all true
So they all didn’t like it yet gave 6’s and 7’s? Not surprised at all. He’s definitely going to safe tonight because of it
Hannah would get the song ‘No Scrubs’. Did not like the band’s rendition of the song, but Hannah did a good job. Thought it was actually a little too fast in parts, but she kept up well enough.
Sean was something……just very awkward to watch. I’d give that a 4 tbh. Just a lot of walking a couple of poses and a lift. Lazy choreography overall. Now Hannah kinda wowed me and then it hit me that she had salsa in danceoff so it makes sense. Costumes were awesome. I’d give her a 9
4 8s for Hannah’s dance?! Yeah I agree with the judges that there were some minor mistakes, but all 8s?
So, Carrie Ann and Joey thought Hannah was 1 point better than Jenna’s partner who produced one of the worst dances of the season?
Voting for Ally and Sasha! Can’t believe she was in the bottom two last week
Full disclosure- haven’t watched in years but enjoy checking this site from time to time. So bored, I decided to tune in. Just in time to see a guy in a mustard suit clunk across the floor trying to dance…something. Can’t believe the scores I saw. How far this show has fallen. Even Derek and Mark returning couldn’t save this mess.
Time to go watch the snow melt.
Remember you can vote for all couples 10 times! Save those who are great dancers!
I have a feeling Ally’s going to need the high scores. Honestly, it was good, but I wasn’t feeling it. I thought it was kind of slow and basic.
Ally was good but really? Wannabe? Oh god. I remember my friends making me listen to that song ON REPEAT. That’s why I hate the song.
How did Ally’s samba get more points than James’ a few weeks ago? Loving the theme, mostly. and again – hats off to hair, make-up and wardrobe.
This is the second week in a row where I actually liked Lauren, and didn’t think Gleb totally bombed the choreography. That was a pretty good quickstep.
I actually wonder if there’s a chance she can beat James and Hannah in the end, since I feel one of those two is going to take it.
Ally and Sasha were great and in agree with the tens 🙂 . Idk what’s the tiles but if the pros can take home or buy parts of costumes Sasha should in regards for the shirt. Lauren……wow wow wow. Easily my fav from them and I’d give them a ten. The roller coaster hit a high in the continuing journey in my opinion. When she is 100 percent into it you know and it s awesome.
In a way, I kinda feel like Ally getting a perfect score is not good because that could mean she’s in trouble tonight and isn’t getting enough votes. To me, that wasn’t a perfect worthy samba but I’d rather her get some help than get sent home
oooh I love me some Supremes, I loved that outfit… I wanted to be in that dance…
Hannah’s gotten hosed in the scores tonight so far. Lauren’s dance was good, and I’d normally agree with the two 9s, but not with Hannah getting all 8s.
Since Ally’s second dance is a jazz, I’m betting she gets another perfect score. If she winds up in the bottom 2 yet again, assuming she’s not against Sean, I wonder if they’ll save whoever she’s up against. Only one she’d probably have a chance at staying over is Kel, but since this would be her third time in the bottom in 4 weeks, I wonder if they’ll just let her go.
I can never hear ‘Free Your Mind’ and not automatically think of Mel/Mak’s paso way back in season 5. That said, Kel’s paso was amazing. My favorite dance of the night so far. For once I actually liked the use of the extra dancers.
Kel got my votes tonight. I worry he could be in trouble.
Refuse to watch even with Joey on – went ahead and did my 10 votes for everyone but Jenna and Gleb. I feel like it’s not gonna help much and we’ll say goodbye to another decent dancer but I’m doing what I can on all my accounts – even the ones I haven’t used since Mark Derek and Julianne were on the show. I’m hoping James wins it all- Emma is probably my fave pro left her and Sasha are the cutest couple. Fingers crossed no surprise elimination tonight.
Ok so I was worried when I heard the song becuase I didn’t think he would Be that great tonight. And I was wrong becuase he nailed that. 10 easily from me. Just loved that from start to finish. Figured Len wouldn’t like it but honestly I’m kinda wondering what this man likes anymore lol.
They’ve been able to find faults with all the dancers but Ally, and sugar coated Sean’s comments…not thinking tonight is going to go well.
Now I’m even more worried about Kel.
Kel should 100% be higher than Lauren in the leaderboard
I wish they weren’t rushing things tonight. Maybe not have a guest judge so they aren’t so pressed for time.
Im sorry but 10 for THAT samba. That is only going to make people dislike her even more because that was not 10
I feel like this is the end of the road for kel. Man im mad right now !
The fact that Stain got scored by some of the judges as if he were a mere point below Hannah and Lauren is so damn appalling. I’ve always hated the inconsistency in judging some contestants by overall skill and others by how well they’re doing relative to where they started. And it’s extra ridiculous considering Stain doesn’t deserve to be scored well off either system. He isn’t a dancer period and he hasn’t improved. If anything, I feel like he’s putting in even less effort since his fanbase does all the work. Yuck. I almost WISH cancellation on this show now.
On another note, I miss kate and pasha something fierce.
Ugh! How can Kel get one point better than S____?
Carrie Ann’s “The semi-finals are coming up and we have to nit-pick every detail” spiel doesn’t hold up when she gave S*** a score one point lower than Kel. It’s lame that they don’t hold everyone to the same standard.
ooooh high school me is so pleased with that.
I’m more annoyed that all the dancers but Ally have gotten constructive criticism (that dance was not a 10, much less 4 of them), and that Sean’s criticism got sugar coated. Again.
I thought James’s jazz was lacking something, but I feel that way of all the jazz’s on here. Not as good as his jive, though.
Len is really grumpy tonight.
James and Emma were awesome. Loved that dance. Easily a ten for me. I kinda feel like he just had so much fun and it showed. My Halloween costume for next year if I can replicate hisncostume withnstuff from Macy’s ????
I disagree that Kel’s dance was as good as Ally’s. At this point, she has the best technique on the show; her dance was super clean. I love Kel and I’d love to see him in the final, but although I loved the intention, the expressiveness & the commitment, he tends to slouch a bit, he stomped a bit walking forward, his footwork could have been cleaner as well as the shaping… 8 for Kel and 9 for Ally for me, bc as great as her dance was, it didn’t have that “wow factor” that I expect a 10 worthy dance to have…
I know I’m supposed to be watching for the dances but I can’t get over how out of place Erin’s dress seems tonight. Is she going to Easter service? She’s always got some interesting (and sometimes successful) fashion choices but this one is bizarre.
Also hard disagree with Len’s 8. James and Emma’s second dance was great. They’ve underscored James tonight.
So funny how Spicer is a really bad dancer
Are they skipping order? Hannah went third before, now she’s second…or did I totally black out Sean’s foxtrot?
Hannah just killed that dance. 10 easily from me and her best yet I think. Loved it. That video package was something……probably one of her few moments of stress and they were like “yes. We will use this.”
hannah absolute killed it tonight!!
Len is harsh on Hannah for some reason. Lindsay is on IG asking people to vote because she will be back for the semi-finals. I appreciate her support and love her on the show but honestly Sean needs to go home. He got the easiest dances of the night and was the worst.
Hannah crushed that tango!!
I’m already resigned to Sean staying and likely losing Kel tonight. I hope I’m wrong.
Sean……dude that was just horrible. Not awkward so that’s a plus I guess? I’d give that a 5. I really wish we had Craig right now ????
That foxtrot was like 50% jenna dancing around sean and 50% walking. Sean just needs to go home
@Kara I agree with you, I’m very positive that Sean will stay and a good dancer goes home again unfortunately. I feel like the bottom two will end up being Kel and Ally with Ally being saved
I don’t get why they aren’t going in the same order from before.
@Brittany, honestly I’ll be kind of annoyed if Ally is saved over Kel (which I agree will probably happen). I don’t think she’s any better than him, and this will be her third time in the bottom 2, compared to his second (and that was week 2?) But I have a feeling the goal is for her to make the finals.
And just like that all the excitement I had for Lauren dropped back to whatbit was before lol. Wasn’t feeling that one at all. Liked her first round a lot better
Agee 110%, Vin. I thought Lauren looked a mess doing that rumba! I definitely didn’t see the dance the judges saw?
I liked Lauren’s rumba, but I agree @PrincessHeidi that I felt it lacked content. Just seemed like the same move over and over again. I thought her first dance was better, yet received lower scores.
I just don’t want to lose Kel tonight. I worry he’ll be the sacrificial lamb. That was another great performance by him. Thought his feet looked a little messy in spots, but overall a great job.
I was just thinking how much fun Kate would have been this week.
I don’t understand the judges at all tonight. I thought Kel’s paso was a lot better and more fun.
That said, glad he got a perfect score. Hope that wasn’t a perfect score for the road.
Ally going last is interesting.
Kel!!! Yes. Easily a ten from me. One of the best dances of the night and his best in my opinion all season.
Kel could win the mirror ball
Wasn’t really feeling that from Ally again, but I love that song.
And again, it’s more the style. But I just felt like there wasn’t much content.
I’m sure the judges will rave, though.
That was freestyle worthy. I’d easily give ally and Sasha a 10. Costumes were very very 90s and I loved for I it. SIdenote I may or may not still own a jean beat like that to Put over a hoodie from Halloween in high school lol ????
Gosh right now I’m literally just hoping and praying that Sean leaves tonight
S3an is 20 points below the next closest. There’s no way he’s getting enough votes to overcome such a low score and votes. Or so I really freaking hope.
I thought Kel might stand a chance against Ally in the bottom 2, but clearly that won’t be the case. I really just hope it’s Sean. I don’t even care who else is there at this point, they’ll be safe.
Gleb looks worried.
Fingers crossed Sean goes home tonight! Every dancer is improving every week and Sean is still walking around. He should not be in the semi finals
@Ammie, tbh just because Sean has an extremely low score doesn’t mean a thing–especially with his fans
Kel is safe! So excited.
yes! It’s happening! Sean is leaving tonight!
Sean’s gone, they don’t even need to vote.
HALLELUJAH! My heart was pounding so hard, but finally!
Not even the Fat One can get me to watch tonight!
And Pointer Sisters being a Girl Group? No way did anyone put that group together except the women that are in in it. Back in the day, people listening to the Pointer Sisters on the radio were all convinced that one of the Sisters was a dude.
Anyways, godspeed to the folks at home who are watching all this. I hope not too many tables have to get turned upside tonight.
Gleb looked really worried when it was him, Sean, and Hannah. He knew that was the difference between staying and going home.
Yessssssssssssss. He’s gone. many weeks late. but FINALLY.
Yes!!!!!!! About time! Hopefully I never have to see his face on tv again
Okay, finally the lowest hanging fruit is gone! I’m so glad we have a nice range of talent for the semifinals. Going forward though if Ally can knock out Lauren this finale will be great, and it’s not because I’m not a fan of Lauren moreso Gleb. I kinda hope Sasha gets a mbt to match Emma’s at this point. My second favorite to win behind Ally would be a tie between Hannah and Kel both of whom would be a much deserved winner. As for James I’m seeing him get more and more non-event as his scores continue to be so high.
It’s a tight competition but I still think James and Hannah are final two
Well it’s about damn time! After Bobby won last season, I was afraid Sean was going to win. I’m sure Trump and all the Tea party followers were telling people to vote for him and people finally got brains and ignored them! Why couldn’t that happen last season? Both Sean and Bobby were lousy dancers and most people found both of them entertaining. Bobby won but Sean didn’t (or isn’t going to). What’s the difference between those two?
THE EVIL IS DEFEATED. I’ll be honest. I fully expected S*an to make it to finals. Glad to be wrong. Shocked Lauren hit the bottom though. Wonder how much of that was votes and how much was the extra padding Aly got in her scores.
I think my issue now with the judges synthetically giving scores to Ally that Sean literally couldn’t make up is starting to create a sense that she’s so much better than the other contestants like Hannah or James, which isn’t necessarily the case. If she gets back into the bottom two next week when everyone has very similar scores there’ll be outrage because “she had the most perfect scores” when I really do think they’ve been fabricated to solve another disaster. She’s a good dancer but I do think the judges have been overloading her with 10s
James underscored again 8 from Len what a joke. You can’t get people Jazz then moan that they do a Jazz dance.
Could this be the first Sasha v Emma finale?
Let the real competition begin
AT LONG LAST. All of us who are still watching can now watch in peace. It feels like everyone remaining has a chance at winning the Mirror Ball.
Honestly I’m glad and all but part of me is wondering if it’s too little too late and there’s way too much damage done to save the show.
Y’all, I shouted “YES HE’S GONE!” so loud it scared my son and pissed off my husband (because I was loud). ADIOS MF! I did NOT shout that. LOL
I think whoever wins from the final 5 will be a good winner. They each have their strengths, although some more than others. I have been rooting for Ally and James (and Kate). I think I’m going to throw all my support behind Ally. She’s more than proven she’s the one. But if James won, I’d be okay with that, too.
[…] all so good in different ways that anything could happen. If you missed the show, don’t miss Miss Heidi’s Live Blog for complete details and Number […]
Sean’s elimination was obviously long overdue and I’m very glad for it. While I feel absolutely terrible for Lindsay’s family and they are in my prayers, I really think that switching partners last week was a big part of his downfall. In the judge’s defense, they know how many votes each contestant has been getting and probablyknew that even with the 6s and 7s he’d fall short eventually once the rest of the vote got concentrated in fewer opponents. I imagine the producers told them to give him high enough scores to not alienate the morons who actually like him. I forced my husband to watch with me last night and he had an interesting thought- Sean’s face during the elimination looked like he was happy to be done; what if he has been saying what he was supposed to in the video packages but really not interested in staying. I’m not trying to excuse his undeserved tenure on the show, I just think it’d be funny if he wanted to go home as badly as we wanted him to. And while it doesn’t make me hate him any less, I appreciate that he left with no bad comments and a shout out to veterans. Much more excited for a competitive finale now!
@ KDSR, I’ve been wondering if S___ would eventually back out, like that British version contestant did several years ago. But I don’t think his ego would have let him.
According to people.com, SS was quoted as saying he’s both “relieved in a way” and “somewhat disappointed” to be going home. And I previously read that he said he had briefly considered dropping out of the show, but stayed in because it wouldn’t be right to let down all the people who were voting for him.
I’m just glad he’s gone & we won’t have a “Bones” type of champion this season.
I’ve heard of other bad dancers through the years (though these people weren’t as bad as Sean), that would say they were relieved they were finally eliminated, or glad they didn’t win if they made the finals, because they didn’t think it was right to outlast the better dancers. Going way back to season 3, but I think Jerry Springer even asked people not to vote for him right before he got eliminated. So I can see where Sean was coming from. I blame the show for casting him in the first place more than the guy and his fans. I never did believe he would win, though.
At this point I’m hoping it’s James or Kel, but still think it’s between James and Hannah. Next week is going to be interesting. A lot of people think the judges are playing favorites with Ally and that they hate Hannah and James, even though James gets higher scores and better comments than Hannah seems to most times.
Popping in to say I’ve been lurking on and off this season. I’m glad S is gone and I hope the show stops casting political types even though they are tempting ratings grab, it’s just too polarizing and there’s too much of that nowadays. I just enjoy Kel he’s so musical even though he’s rough around the edges he creates excitement. I think James is great but I’ve yet to really feel it in my gut like I do with Kel. No question James has superior technique so if he gets an Argentine Tango that can really smoulder he’ll be tops for me. I just don’t have any critique for the girls, they seem nice, but I’m not in love with their dancing. Lauren is probably the weakest of the three but not by a lot. I miss Kate she was a firecracker and was really entertaining. I’d love it if James and Kel were the last two standing it would be a really difficult choice. If any of the women are at the end it won’t be as exciting, they all seem robotic compared to Kel and James
I agree that they are over scoring Ally to keep her on. It will be interesting if James isn’t so criticized compared to others now that S… is gone.
However, they use far too many extra dancers with the troupe gone. Ally had so many that I found it distracting. The same for a couple off others. They shouldn’t need more than 4. The main couple gets lost.
Just occured to me that out of the contestants left only hannah and james are the only ones that haven’t been in the botom two….so kel or lauren or ally is gone next week I assume?
