Dancing with the Stars Season 29, Week 4 – Who’s Dancing What…and When??

Okay, so they don’t say that it’s “most memorable year” week on DWTS, but it kinda sounds like it might be.  So weird.  Per the press release:

IT’S AN EXCITING AND EMOTIONAL NIGHT OF COMPETITION

The show will start with a comedic PSA cold open, followed by Skai Jackson giving a powerful tribute to her friend and fellow actor Cameron Boyce, as well as AJ McLean walking down memory lane on his Backstreet Boys journey since the beginning.

Oh goodie, a comedic cold open. How about you let us decide the comedic value, eh??

Kaitlyn gets slower songs two weeks in a row. Not sure if that’s good or bad. Justina looks like she’ll be back in her wheelhouse with a salsa. Meanwhile, AJ gets one of the easier dances of the night and is dancing to one of his own songs. If they start pimping him, I’m going to be pissed, after his constant dissing of Jesse on his podcast. He’ll likely do it again, since they’re dancing the same style. I’m looking forward to Nelly’s Paso with Daniella. I also think Johnny’s jive will be something to see…seems right up his alley, actually. Hmmmm….week four and we’re still dancing traditional ballroom/latin styles. I’m SO NOT complaining, but I remember hearing all the BS from tyrant about new dance styles or something.

Dancing Last

As for who danced it better…Monica has her work cut out for her to dance to the level that Chelsea and Mark did in Season 12, although Chelsea’s hip action was good but not great.

At the other end of the spectrum, we have Mischa and Artem…

AJ, on the other hand, is competing against Nick’s freestyle…which was pretty boring so maybe he won’t have such a hard time. 🙂

Rise was used as a Paso for Laurie and Val – a good dance except for all the time wasting at the beginning of the dance. And the end too, for that matter. This song is terrible for a Paso, IMO. If Keo can get a good paso out of it…a miracle.

Jeannie and Brandon with hopefully do better with Seven Nation Army than Lindsay and Calvin did…the opening was too weird and he was not a great Tango-er. 🙂

Then there’s this little gem…

I suspect that Johnny will go in a very different direction than the sweet Bindi and Derek’s jive. 🙂 I could be wrong. I had forgotten that Bindi danced to this in week 1.
