Maks Chmerkovskiy On Kirstie Alley: “She’s so much more than a dance partner….”

Maks has penned a new blog for TV Guide!! He says their team dance on Dancing With The Stars is going to be crazy, silly, and funny…and a bit obscene too. He also talks all about Kirstie and how they are trying to do their best. The take below is my favorite part of the blog. Read this to see why….

I’m honored to be part of this All-Stars season. It’s monumental. I’m very happy to be part of it. If I’ve done what I’ve done my past 12 seasons and wasn’t included, that would be telling of my impact. I love the fact that I’m back with Kirstie. I feel very protective of her. I feel like something is in front of my face and if I find a way to do something I haven’t tried that can drastically help Kirstie, I would do it. I feel like it’s right in front of me.

The good news about this week is there’s no elimination, but the scores will be combined with next week’s. It’s gonna be a bit overwhelming. If imagine we’re last both weeks, the difference between first and last could be, like, 18 points. To overcome that is hard, but I know we and our fans won’t stop. I saw something recently that said, “Dear pessimist, optimist and realist: While you figure out if the glass is half-empty or half-full, I drank the water. I’m an opportunist.” I’m not negative, I’m not positive, I’m not delusional. I understand the situation. But I will never give up by myself. The only way we will leave is when we’re voted off. We will never check out mentally. We will never dumb anything down. I will never stop being creative. We’re still gonna fight. That’s how I will continue. Sometimes Kirstie tells me, “I wish you had a better partner.” I tell her, “I have the best partner I could have!” I could have a better dancer as a partner, but she’s so much more than a dance partner. She’s my friend and that is the most valuable part of this whole experience. She’s so much more than a celebrity you dance with three months. In return, I have to be the best.

Derek Hough Judges Make Your Mark, Talks On DWTS Cast, Shawn Johnson, and More

Isn’t this a great screencap by our Miss Heidi of Derek Hough? In case you don’t know, last week, the Dancing With The Stars pro was a judge on “Make Your Mark”. He did a really good job too! Heidi has more fun screenshots and video footage at Pure Derek Hough as well as some hunky, intense paparazzi pics of he and partner Shawn Johnson. She also has a new interview posted where Derek talks on Shawn Johnson and the cast of Dancing With The Stars. Be sure to read and see everything here. A MONDAY MUST before showtime!!! 😀

Apolo Ohno Previews Tonight’s DWTS Samba With Karina Smirnoff And More

Apolo Ohno warns that he and Karina Smirnoff’s costumes tonight will be “hilarious” and “rediculous”, but, he’s excited for their new dance. See why below and why their music “speaks” to him.

Going into this week and the following weeks, this has reignited a new passion and a new creative interest in her mind, as far as how she choreographs her dances, which I pay for daily, because she makes them very, very difficult.

There’s no elimination this week, but we’ll still be judged on these dances and they’re going to be cumulative with next week’s dance. This week is “Guilty Pleasures Week.” We’re doing Rick James’s “Give It to Me Baby,” which is awesome American funk. There are hilarious, ridiculous outfits.

I’m wearing a silk, leopard print shirt with white pants and white shoes. It’s very funky and old school. I’m trying to figure out how to do a big afro, but obviously my hair does not work that way, so we’re going to play with it.

The dance is the samba, the dance I got my first perfect score on, during week five with Julianne. So, for me, it’s significant. Now I want to show my true colors. Now I really want to bring it all out and lay it all on the line. I just want to have fun, play the theatrical role, play the moment and just really go out there and live it.

I want to show people why I love this song and why it speaks to me. This song is a true guilty pleasure, it’s hilarious. And if you watch the music video, it’s even funnier. Karina and I have been trying to watch it as much as we can.

You can read more at People.com. Bring it and “live it”, Apolo!! You can do it!!

Also, keep your thoughts with Karina. Here is some back stage footage from last night as she got some shots in her neck. Ouch!

DWTS Season 15 Week 5 New Rehearsal Interview With Emmitt Smith And Cheryl Burke

The Insider has a new rehearsal interview up today with Emmitt Smith! He says he doesn’t feel like he has a leg up in the competition on Dancing With The Stars since there are other past winners of the mirror ball. Emmitt says he’s fortunate to still have Cheryl as a partner. She is still tough and “kicking his booty in practice” too. See why he says he’s off his game below and how much he’s changed since having his family. I just love Emmitt!! Great interview!

ADDING: Below is Cheryl talking with Access Hollywood on she and Emmitt’s rehearsals and their dances at the Carousel of Hope Ball held over the weekend. She says they are all exhausted from learning two dances this past week. She and Emmitt have been rehearsing for 7-8 hours a day….

Melissa Rycroft Injured During Camera Blocking For Dancing With The Stars

According to a new People.com report tonight, Melissa Rycroft fell during camera blocking today while preparing for Dancing With The Stars. She has suffered a head and neck injury. There is no word on whether she will be able to compete on Monday. Below is more….

Former Bachelor star Melissa Rycroft was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital Sunday afternoon after suffering a head and neck injury during rehearsals for Monday’s Dancing with the Stars episode.

“Melissa was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where she is currently being examined,” Rycroft’s rep tells PEOPLE. “She was accompanied to the hospital by her husband, Tye Strickland, and her dance partner, Tony Dovolani. Everyone is taking all necessary precautions at this time.”

Rycroft fell while doing camera blocking for Monday’s group number at CBS studios.

Please everyone, be sending Melissa your positive thoughts and prayers that she is ok. Stay tuned. If we find out more, we’ll be sure to let you know.

UPDATE: E News is reporting that Melissa was released from the hospital last night. They are also reporting that the accident happened during a rehearsal for a Tango. You can read more here. Thanks to Jen and Lori for sending us this news this morning.

ADDING: Here is a ET rehearsal interview with Tony and Melissa that most likely took place last Friday. Note how she talks on fatigue and their new tango.

Dancing With The Stars Cheryl Burke and Carrie Ann Inaba Attend 26th Anniversary Carousel of Hope Ball

Pictured above is Dancing With The Stars Cheryl Burke and Carrie Ann Inaba. Last night, they attended the 26th Anniversary Carousel of Hope Ball at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California last night. Other celebrities to attend were Stacy Keibler, Carmen Electra, Nicollette Sheridan, George Clooney, Julianne Hough, Donna Mills (I wish she’d do Dancing With The Stars), and Joan Van Ark (I wish Joan would do Dancing With The Stars too). You can view more pictures of them at Zimbio Pictures.

What do you think? I love Carrie Ann’s dress, but, not sure I’m digging Cheryl’s this time….or maybe it’s her hair?

DWTS Season 15, Week 1 – The Cheesecake Awards!!!!

Well kids, we’re back & snarky/juvenile/perverse/etc!  😛 And for those of you not accustomed to our particular brand of humor – consider yourself warned.  We swear, we get innuendo-y, we make fart jokes, and we call people out for being stupid on the show.  If you are hypersensitive/lack a sense of humor/are a prude/whatever, you probably should just skip this post altogether…and you sure as hell better not comment on it.  Because any Debbie Downers/Bobby Buzzkills lurking in the comments section will be deleted without a 2nd thought.  Consider this the party post – party poopers need not apply, because we have plenty of fellow freaks who love to party along with our special brand of humor.  Party on, Wayne 😉

The “C U Next Tuesday” Award: Carrie Ann Inaba, for repeatedly calling out Tom for cutting her off

Courtney: We learned pretty quickly on Monday whether we’d get cool Carrie Ann or bitter, angry Carrie Ann this season – and I think she made it pretty clear it’s definitely the latter.  Look, CAI, I get it: your fairytale engagement didn’t result in a fairytale wedding, and you’re probably not too happy about that.  But did you really have to repeatedly heckle EMMY AWARD-WINNING HOST Tom Bergeron for cutting your commentary on Joey & Kym’s cha-cha off early? It was pretty obvious the show was moving at breakneck speed in order to fit everyone in, and I daresay that, being the EMMY AWARD -WINNING HOST of a LIVE reality tv show, Tom Bergeron knows a thing or two about effectively fitting into a time frame while still being entertaining – plus he probably had the Muppets upstairs screaming in his earpiece to move things along.  I highly doubt whatever long-winded critique you were going to offer up was all that insightful, CAI – it seldom is.  Yet your excessive self-importance forced you to interrupt things not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES to remind everyone that Tom cut you off – who’s the asshat now?

Heidi: My brother texted me during the show to call CAI names….then commented that her tampon is in sideways. 🙂  Yes, that is my family…we tend toward gross at times. But also very apropos.  But seriously, don’t heckle The Berg, biotch. It’s not all about you. Hard to believe, I know.

Courtney: Looks like someone had a bad case of Emmy Envy.  😛

The “Deeerrrrp” Award: Chelsie Hightower, for getting confused over the native languages of Brazil & South America; (dis)honorable mention – Val Chmerkovskiy, for not really knowing what Kelly did for a living

Courtney: “Wait…they speak Spanish in South America???” I’d like to think this was taken out of context, but from the puzzled look on Chelsie’s face…I doubt it was.  And by the earnest expression on Val’s face as he asked “Oh, you work in a hospital?”, I’m gonna venture a guess that “catching up on the soaps” is not on Val’s list of hobbies 😛

Heidi: Both were hilarious…but I was yelling at my TV, saying “Chelsie, STOP talking, yer makin’ it worse”, while laughing at her.  Val I thought was just endearing…and for Kelly, humbling. 😀

Couple’s Schtick That is Most Likely To Get Old VERY Quickly: Sabrina & Louis reminding everyone that Sabrina was voted in and this season is “all about redemption”; (dis)honorable mention for Derek’s short jokes and Kelly & Val’s pattycaking

Courtney: I just think the short jokes are corny 😛 And I guess I would just rather see Kelly & Val doing something other than pattycaking…something more…intimate.  😉 Maybe if they were playing pattycake with their face.  LOL 😛 But the Sabrina & Louis “the viewers chose us to be here!” and “this is all about redemption because Sabrina left too early” poppycock is just beyond annoying at this point.  If that’s their big reason why people should vote for them – then they must not be that special, because every week that any of the couples is sticking around, is a week they are being “chosen” by the viewers, since they’re obviously getting votes.  And you want to talk about “redemption”? Gilles was narrowly beat out for the MBT by a mere 1%.  Joey & Kirstie are both 2nd place finishers; Bristol finished 3rd in her season, and was pretty unpopular.  Drew, Kelly, & Emmitt are all trying to prove that the earlier champions are every bit as good as the newer ones. I daresay any of the names I just mentioned have a greater hunger for “redemption” than a 7th place finisher who just couldn’t get the votes to stick around in season 5…and has been reminding us about it ever since.

Heidi: Eh, I don’t mind the short jokes and Derek usually recognizes the shelf life of  joke in general. (I have to say, though, that the harassment he got from one Shawn fan freak on Twitter was OTT – yo, Derek ain’t the one that looks bad here, nutjob!) Also didn’t mind the patty caking – was rather amazed by that, actually. Not sure I could do that without a shit ton of beer to relax me.  🙂 But the Sabrina crap is in a whole other league from those other two because we’ve been hearing for YEARS about her (not) shocking elimination. Talk about drinking game potential. Get the fuck over it already! I’m about ready to stick a pen in my eye.  Guess what kids – you were voted in over Carson and Kyle, NOT the rest of the cast. You better hope like hell that Team Sabrina is a lot bigger than I suspect it is. Read more..

Ultrasound sales specialist by day, semi-knowledgeable DWTS fan by night...with a smattering of hair & makeup enthusiast, occasional model, baker, and crazy cat lady peppered in to make things REALLY interesting ;-) I might pee my pants in happiness if Donnie Wahlberg ever does DWTS - or if they ever use "Sunglasses at Night" as a paso doble.
