Dancing With The Stars Las Vegas Odds Going Into Week 8: What Do You Think?

“If somebody says no to you, or if you get cut, Michael Jordan was cut his first year, but he came back and he was the best ever. That is what you have to have. The attitude that I’m going to show everybody, I’m going to work hard to get better and better.” ~Basketball player Magic Johnson on beating the odds

Sports Bovada has their new odds posted for Dancing With The Stars Week 8. Unfortunately, they were right about the last place couple last week (as they have been for a couple of weeks now) and Andy Dick indeed was eliminated. Will they be right again? Take a look below.

Zendaya Coleman 10/11
Kellie Pickler 1/1
Jacoby Jones 10/1
Aly Raisman 12/1
Ingo Rademacher 100/1
Sean Lowe 100/1

Here are last week’s Las Vegas Odds to compare.

Zendaya Coleman 1/1
Kellie Pickler 11/10
Jacoby Jones 7/1
Aly Raisman 12/1
Ingo Rademacher 75/1
Sean Lowe 75/1
Andy Dick 100/1

I think the new odds are pretty correct, though, I think Ingo is a better dancer and a more genuine, passionate, and likable person than Sean. So, I think Ingo’s odds should be a little higher…..and especially after Sean’s rude comments this week saying this of Andy to E News: “He probably lasted a lot longer than he should have.” Yes, I’m still grrring! Really Sean? What makes you think you are all that great of a dancer? What’s more, Andy had you beat in the entertainment, genuine, class, and likable factor in spades. Good luck with that. As for the rest of celebrities, I think Kellie should be in the top spot with Jacoby second …or even Jacoby and Kellie tied. Then again, it might be too early to put them tied, but, in the end, I think Jacoby will take it all. Yes, I am huge fan to him now! He makes me laugh and I love how he sang to Andy telling him he was his best friend in Andy’s elimination interview with On The Red Carpet. Let’s see what Miss Heidi and Court think. Be sure to let us know what you think too in comments.

Courtney: Before I weigh in on the actual odds, can I just say that I think EVERYONE in the cast would be a lot better off if they just stuck to the typical “company lines” about other people in the cast??? Sean probably would have just been better off saying “Andy worked really hard and I’m glad to have gotten to know him!” or something to that extent than blurting out “Yeah, he probably lasted a lot longer than he should have.” And I think Val probably would have caught a lot less flak if he had simply said “We pick Jacoby & Karina” and then shut up – if you don’t give your detractors anything to work with, they can’t use it against you.  These are two instances in which the Sabrina Bryan philosophy of having rainbows shoot out your ass every time you speak would probably help 😛 And I find it funny that SEAN of all people thinks Andy lasted longer than he should have, considering that Sean really wore out his welcome by week 3. But anyway…looks like the oddsmakers are just vacillating  between Zendaya & Kellie as the winners of this season.  At this point I’m not even sure I’m all that invested in who wins, because Andy really was the big winner this season for me – the only one who would have made a really good, inspiring human interest story, had he won.  I don’t see Sean or Ingo making the finale, and I don’t think any of the 4 who will likely make the finale (Zendaya, Kellie, Jacoby, & Aly) are really all that hungry for the trophy, nor do they really need it – I will probably be throwing all my votes to Jacoby from now on, because he seems to be having the most fun.  So yeah, I guess I agree with the odds…but that doesn’t mean I’m particularly excited about them.

Heidi: I find it interesting that the odds makers have basically said, “You ain’t getting JACK from us if you pick Kellie or Zendaya” while essentially making Jacoby’s odds longer.  I will laugh pretty hard if Jacoby ends up winning.  I’m no longer convinced that he WILL win, although I think he has a better shot than the odds makers do. Not only is he likely to be the only male and athlete in the top 3 (whether Kellie or Aly makes it…or Zendaya…who knows?), but the two women could split the vote, making it easier for him. I think this coming week will be the make or break week for both Zendaya and Jacoby – I don’t really believe that Kellie’s chances are as good as even money (they SHOULD be, but we know all about the silliness that pervades the DWTS fanbase re: Derek and his partners), and they are probably on track with Aly’s, which is why the fate rests with those two. If Jacoby does a stellar job and remains likeable, I think he moves into a better position than he is now. The question is Zendaya – the judges showed a willingness to give her the actual score she deserved as opposed to over scoring her. Did they do that because she’s getting a ton of votes….or did they just see a “27” in that dance like many of us did and they were afraid of losing what little credibility they have? Who can say? But I think it’s now up to Val to not fail her choreographically – make sure last week was a fluke and not the result of too much pressure with an on-going negative impact. She could win this thing….but we all know that the judges scores DO matter, as does the free style.  An off week by Jacoby OR Val/Zendaya could leave the door open for the one of the other two ladies.  I’m also still not sure of Derek’s fanbase – did his fans say “screw it” after last season, to the point that it rests on Kellie and the average viewer?? No idea.

Heidi Still: I kinda feel like we are venturing into a bit of uncharted territory with the top four dancers: not just a singer, but a COUNTRY singer (who I think have fans that are beaten in passion only by the teenboppers ala Justin Bieber); a Disney Kid but not just any Disney Kid, the one they have pegged as the next big thing who would really benefit from winning this thing; A football player, but not just ANY football player, one that had a record breaking touchdown run in the most recent Super Bowl, and; an Olympian –  a RECENT, gold medal winning Olympian.  I dunno, but to me, this is a tough one to call. I’m thinking that the top three in the odds are correct – but I’m not at all certain that’s the order they’ll be in at the end of the day.

New Dancing With The Stars Season 16 Las Vegas Odds For Week 7

“I want to lift the audience to the miraculous in human nature. After all, we shouldn’t be here, with all the odds against us in nature. It’s kind of unusual and wonderful!” ~Ballet Choreographer Paul Taylor on beating the odds

It’s that time again!!! Sports Bovada has posted their new Odds for Dancing With The Stars going to week 7. Note how they’ve lowered Sean Lowe’s odds dramatically from the week(s) before and rightfully so. I think if Sean doesn’t show some vast improvement this coming Monday night, he could find himself eliminated? They have also listed Andy Dick at the bottom. I think they underestimate Andy’s entertainment factor. As in previous weeks, I look forward to Andy just doing “his Jagger Moves thing” and proving the odds makers wrong again (Have I said? I love fighters like that! 🙂 ). I also think they should have put Kellie at the top this week.

Zendaya Coleman 1/1
Kellie Pickler 11/10
Jacoby Jones 7/1
Aly Raisman 12/1
Ingo Rademacher 75/1
Sean Lowe 75/1
Andy Dick 100/1

Here are last week’s Las Vegas Odds to compare.

Zendaya Coleman 11/10
Kellie Pickler 2/1
Jacoby Jones 13/4
Aly Raisman 15/2
Sean Lowe 33/1
Ingo Rademacher 75/1
Andy Dick 150/1
Victor Ortiz 200/1

Let’s see what Miss Heidi and Court think and be sure to let us know what you think too in comments….

Courtney: If I were the oddsmakers, I’d stop banking on the power of the ABC “family” to pull Zendaya & Sean (and to a lesser degree, Ingo) through week after week.  Sean in particular really kind of crashed & burned this week – he may have gotten a better score than Andy, but I really don’t think he did much better…and while Sean ended up in the bottom 2 with weekly cannon fodder Victor, Andy did not.  Now while I don’t have any delusions about Andy winning this whole thing, I do think he’s doing better than any of us anticipated – and support for him just seems to be growing.  Notice that he hasn’t landed in the bottom 2 since week 3…and last week, he wasn’t even in jeopardy.  Unless Sean either knocks his dance out of the park this week or gets blatantly overscored, I fully expect to see him in the bottom 2 on Tuesday.  Jury’s still out on Ingo, too – as hard as he’s working, I get the feeling he may be blending into the woodwork, and I’m not really seeing a ton of improvement from him…and on top of that, Kym seems like her patience may be wearing thin.  He could also be bottom 2 material in the coming week.  As for the top of the pack – if the team dance was any indicator, Zendaya is not immune to mediocrity, and I would really consider that paso doble to be an epic fail on Val’s part; there was no reason that they shouldn’t have won that challenge, EASILY.  But I daresay complacency could be Zen & Val’s downfall – too many consecutive weeks of praise can lead a couple to feel a bit too…comfortable.  Hopefully this week was a wake-up call.

Heidi: My perspective is a bit different after reading the ABC press release for this weeks show. If the judges work it the way I think they will work it, it will mean Zendaya once again at the top of the pack, whether she deserves it or not, and Andy going home.  It is one HUGE manipulative ploy – and if they keep that sort of thing up for the rest of the season, the people the judges want to go home,  WILL go home.  Right now, Andy seems to be that guy. And that pisses me off.  IF the odds makers are looking at that, then they might be right on the money.  Or they could be totally clueless and end up being right accidentally. 🙂 I DO agree that the odds, combined with the twitter voting crap could really cause an issue with Val and Zendaya – if they think they have this in the bag, they could be in trouble. I mean, really – why do TPTB feel like they need to do this immunity thing? Who isn’t getting the votes? Would they do it for Kellie?? Doubtful.  Add in the complacency that some of her fans might be feeling and you are straying into shocking elimination territory.  Seriously, I’ve heard lots of people say they didn’t even vote in the finale last season, they were so sure that Shawn was going to win. How many now consider Zendaya a “sure thing” – including Val and Zendaya themselves?? I don’t know – I’m seriously asking. Anyway, they have Zen and Kellie close to tied with Jacoby at 7/1?? I think they’re under rating him a bit, but we’ll see.

DWTS Season 16 Las Vegas Odds Going Into Week 6 – Do You Agree or Disagree?

“Champions keep playing until they get it right.” ~Billy Jean King on beating the odds

Sports Bovada has their new Odds posted!! As you can see, they aren’t too much different than the week before with an exception of there aren’t any ties for last place this time which I’m glad for. Though I still don’t think they are giving Andy Dick enough credit for the mark he’s made with his dancing and entertainment factor. For what I’ve seen, fans of Dancing With The Stars are loving him for the most part. I’m also not in agreement for how high they keep putting Aly Raisman and Sean Lowe. However, I totally agree with Victor being in last place! Take a look and then read below for what Heidi and Court think. Be sure you let us know what you think as well.

Zendaya Coleman 11/10
Kellie Pickler 2/1
Jacoby Jones 13/4
Aly Raisman 15/2
Sean Lowe 33/1
Ingo Rademacher 75/1
Andy Dick 150/1
Victor Ortiz 200/1

Here are last week’s Las Vegas Odds to compare.

Zendaya Coleman 8/5
Kellie Pickler 2/1
Jacoby Jones 13/4
Aly Raisman 5/1
Ingo Rademacher 33/1
Sean Lowe 33/1
Andy Dick 100/1
D.L. Hughley 100/1
Victor Ortiz 100/1

Court and Heidi?

Courtney: Dang, they really think Zendaya is gonna run away with this thing, huh? I still think there are politics in play that could potentially play spoiler to that one – namely the fact that I think viewers are wising up to some of the manipulation, and may retaliate by voting in in a direction opposite to the one TPTB are trying to lead them in.  I think the fact that Jacoby ended up with the encore this week (after it was pretty widely believed that Zendaya was going to get it) could be a testament to the power of the average (read: not necessarily young) voter to change the course of the competition.  I would keep a close eye on Jacoby – I think he may currently be the biggest threat to Zendaya running away with a MBT.  As for the bottom of the pack – I still think Andy has a much better chance than Victor, and at this point I think he may even have a better chance than Ingo.  Ingo’s stock seems to be dropping pretty rapidly, and I think he could end up in the bottom 2 this week.

Heidi: Well, they have to have Aly and Sean that high because there’s not really any where else to put them! 🙂  I do think that they could move Andy up between Aly and Sean, but other than that, they seem to have it basically right. Although I don’t think Zendaya is such a lock. I think Jacoby could easily beat her.  Depends on what happens the next couple weeks.

Dancing With The Stars Season 16 Las Vegas Odds For Week 5

“I’ve always made a total effort, even when the odds seemed entirely against me. I never quit trying; I never felt that I didn’t have a chance to win.” ~Arnold Palmer on beating the odds

Well, last week Sports Bovada nailed it by putting Lisa Vanderpump at the bottom of their odds for who will win Dancing With The Stars despite many of our protests! Will they nail it again this coming week? Below are their new sets of Odds. Note that their Odds aren’t too different from the week before except for putting Victor at the bottom of the pack and tying him with Andy and D.L. again. I’m sorry, but, I don’t understand why they keep giving Andy Dick low odds with them when he’s been a stand out, likable, and has done as well as he has? You’d think they’d atleast tie him with Ingo and Sean or put him above them? But hey, keep giving him low odds as he keeps proving their odds wrong every week!!! I loved the same challenge when playing tennis. 🙂

Zendaya Coleman 8/5
Kellie Pickler 2/1
Jacoby Jones 13/4
Aly Raisman 5/1
Ingo Rademacher 33/1
Sean Lowe 33/1
Andy Dick 100/1
D.L. Hughley 100/1
Victor Ortiz 100/1

Here are last week’s Las Vegas Odds to compare.

Zendaya Coleman 8/5
Kellie Pickler 2/1
Jacoby Jones 3/1
Aly Raisman 15/2
Ingo Rademacher 25/1
Sean Lowe 25/1
Victor Ortiz 75/1
Andy Dick 100/1
D.L. Hughley 100/1
Lisa Vanderpump 100/1

Let’s see what my partners in crime think and be sure to tell us what you think too in comments….

Courtney: I think Andy is unfortunately getting stuck with sh*t odds because they keep putting the poor guy in jeopardy, and he has been in the bottom 2 once – and like so many viewers that can’t seem to understand that “in jeopardy” means “not necessarily in the bottom 2, and we could be totally pulling your leg and this person is completely safe!”, I think the oddsmakers are also falling into that trap and thus assume that Andy is consistently in danger, which I’m not sure I believe.  If anything, I think Andy’s odds are improving, while Victor’s, D.L.’s, & Sean’s are getting worse – Sean in particular seems to have lost his luster in the eyes of the judges and I think he could be bottom 2 material in the coming week, if he’s not getting the votes.  As for the other end of the spectrum – I agree that Zendaya & Kellie are the frontrunners FOR RIGHT NOW, but I still think we may see a situation like we did in season 14: two contestants basically take turns leading the pack for the bulk of the season, there’s some “pimping” going on, viewers get tired of it, and a 3rd, “alternative” choice (in this case, Jacoby) ends up subtly sneaking his way into the top of the pack and winning the whole thing.  Not sure what to make of Aly – I think TPTB, like Sean & Peta with that damn Murgalo, are trying to make her a “thing”, but I’m not sure that it’s really catching on the way they want it to.  She doesn’t have the same appeal that big personalities like Zendaya, Kellie, & Jacoby have, and nor the charm of Victor, Ingo, or Andy.  She’s got the dance skills, but that’s about it right now – she needs the personality in order to really make a big move to prove she’s a contender.  Ingo’s also a bit of a question mark right now – nice guy, decent dancer, but not as explosive as many of those at the top of the pack…can’t tell if this is pretty much all we’re going to get out of him, or if he’s holding back and waiting for the right moment to make his move.

Heidi: Yeah, I pretty much agree with Courtney, although I’m not sure that it matters that Andy, Victor and DL are all 100/1 – I would wager (heh) that their life on the show is HEAVILY dependent on the judges scores in any given week. For example, they give Andy a crap score compared to Victor and DL – Andy goes home.  They give Victor a crap score relative to Andy and DL – Victor goes home. We’ve seen the happen before where there aren’t enough votes to reduce the judges scores impact. The question is how Ingo and Sean still play into that equation – we’ll see this week. 🙂   I guess I think they have the order just  about right, although I think the top three might not be in that exact order.  I think the ONLY reason that Aly is in 4th place at this point is because of the weakness of Sean and Ingo. I also agree with Courtney that they might be making her into something.  But I think that something might be just a  prop to keep Zendaya from supposedly running away with it. I don’t think they care about Aly one way or the other, but I think they are likely heavily invested in Zendaya. The next Selena Gomez?? Or bigger.

DWTS Season 16 Las Vegas Odds Going Into Week 4 – What do you think?

“I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.” ~Michael Jordan on beating the odds

Sports Bovada has posted their new set of odds for Dancing With The Stars Season 16 Week 4. Though once again, I have to disagree for how they are tying Andy, D.L., and Lisa at 100/1, but, that’s ok because Andy keeps proving this set of odds makers wrong every week…and same with Lisa. D.L. too, but, I don’t think Andy and Lisa belong in the same group or with as low as odds as D.L. in my opinion. Also, what are they seeing in Aly and Sean? I don’t get it? 😯

Zendaya Coleman 8/5
Kellie Pickler 2/1
Jacoby Jones 3/1
Aly Raisman 15/2
Ingo Rademacher 25/1
Sean Lowe 25/1
Victor Ortiz 75/1
Andy Dick 100/1
D.L. Hughley 100/1
Lisa Vanderpump 100/1

Here are last week’s Las Vegas Odds to compare.

Zendaya Coleman 5/2
Jacoby Jones 4/1
Aly Raisman 9/2
Kellie Pickler 5/1
Dorothy Hamill 7/1
Ingo Rademacher 16/1
Sean Lowe 16/1
Andy Dick 75/1
D.L. Hughley 75/1
Victor Ortiz 75/1
Wynonna Judd 75/1
Lisa Vanderpump 100/1

And like in previous weeks, below are the odds from Wynn Las Vegas currently to compare. With an exception to Aly Raisman (who should be in 6th or 7th in my opinion), I think they have it about right. Though I have a feeling Jacoby will win. I also think Andy should be higher at 4th or 5th? I think he can take Victor!

Kellie Pickler Derek Hough 7 TO 2
ZENDAYA COLEMAN Valentin Chmerkovskiy 4 TO 1
JACOBY JONES Karina Smirnoff 9 TO 2
ALY RAISMAN Mark Ballas 5 TO 1
INGO RADEMACHER Kym Johnson 10 TO 1
VICTOR ORTIZ LINDSAY ARNOLD 15 TO 1
ANDY DICK Sharna Burgess 16 TO 1
Sean Lowe Peta Murgatroyd 28 TO 1
Lisa Vanderpump GLEB SAVCHENKO 60 TO 1
D.L. HUGHLEY Cheryl Burke 75 TO 1

Ok, let’s see what our Miss Heidi and Courtney think and be sure to let us know your thoughts on this weeks odds as well in comments…..

Heidi: Well, both sets of Odds have Kellie and Zendaya pretty much neck and neck and I agree with that…although I still think they are neck and neck for SECOND place. 🙂 Still thinking it’s going to be Jacoby standing up there at the end, but if he doesn’t shine this week I may revise my opinion on that one.   And if it comes down to Kellie and Zendaya, Zendaya will win because of the whole Derek backlash crap perpetuated by the “everyone gets to win” mentality of pee wee baseball – no point in pretending it will be a contest.  She might have won anyway, but it’s so much easier when so many people are voting against the other team because of the pro in the mistaken belief that he “wins all the time”.  I also agree wtih Aly being in 4th place – you have to take into consideration all the other dancers who are left and none of them are really standing out – including Aly – but she has fanbase over the rest of them, I think.  Beyond that…well, I MUCH prefer Wynn’s read on the situation, since they have Sean going out in week 6 and Andy and Victor lasting longer than him. 🙂

Courtney: Not a whole lot to add here – I think Kellie & Zendaya tied is about right, and it kind of reminds me of last season at this time, when William & Katherine were at the top of the odds and Donald was much lower, which I think is mirroring the situation with Jacoby right now.  The more and more I mull it over, the more I think that the backlash that Heidi mentioned with Derek, combined with some growing backlash I’m seeing about Zendaya “being pimped”, I think the stage is slowly being set for Jacoby to play spoiler and swoop in to win it all.  As for everyone else – Aly bores me to tears, but I think she too has enough of a fanbase to keep her in for awhile – plus we’re starting to witness some subtle pimpage from the judges.  I think Andy now has MUCH better odds of sticking around than Lisa, D.L, AND Victor, and think it’s going to be either Lisa or Victor on the chopping block this coming week.  Still boggles my mind that people are still voting for D.L. – I find absolutely nothing appealing or redeeming about that man, as all I’ve seen him do is whine, bitch, and moan about the judges “being bullies”, crack painfully unfunny & often inappropriate jokes, and half-ass his way through his routines.  But hey, as we’ve said before: there are some batsh*t crazy fans out there…

New Twist To The Las Vegas Odds For DWTS 16 Week 3 – What do you think?

“I like to be against the odds.” ~Baseball great Barry Bonds on beating the odds

Sports Bovada has posted their new set of odds for Dancing With The Stars Season 16 Week 3. Sometimes I wonder if they even watch the show as they still have Dorothy Hamill listed and at 7/1 odds to win. 😯 After seeing such an amazing dance from Derek and Kellie Pickler last week, I’m shocked they have Kellie placed at 4th too. Crazy and in no way should Aly be placed at 3rd. I also don’t think Lisa should not be in last place (should’t that go to D.L.?). Andy Dick’s odds should have risen and not lowered too. Take a look and see what you think….

Zendaya Coleman 5/2
Jacoby Jones 4/1
Aly Raisman 9/2
Kellie Pickler 5/1
Dorothy Hamill 7/1
Ingo Rademacher 16/1
Sean Lowe 16/1

PureDWTS A Shake Up In Las Vegas Odds For Season 16 Week 2 – What Do You Think?

Think of success as a game of chance in which you have control over the odds. As you begin to master concepts in personal achievement, you are increasing your odds of achieving success. ~Bo Bennet on beating the odds

Sports Bovada has posted their new set of odds for Dancing With The Stars Season 16 Week 2. As always with the first dance, the odds get shaken up which they did so again. Though I’m shocked the odds makers are putting Aly Raisman so high. Was her first dance really that worthy of a second placing? However, huge kudos to Andy Dick making a big jump. I think Andy is a better dancer than Sean (and more liked), so I hope to see him placed even higher next week?

Zendaya Coleman 2/1
Aly Raisman 7/2
Kellie Pickler 7/2
Jacoby Jones 5/1
Dorothy Hamill 7/1
Ingo Rademacher 15/1
Sean Lowe 15/1
Andy Dick 50/1
Victor Ortiz 50/1
Lisa Vanderpump 75/1
Wynonna Judd 75/1
D.L. Hughley 100/
1

First Las Vegas Odds to compare:

Aly Raisman 7/2
Kellie Pickler 5/1
Zendaya Coleman 5/1
Jacoby Jones 13/2
Ingo Rademacher 7/1
Victor Ortiz 15/2
Dorothy Hamill 9/1
D.L. Hughley 10/1
Wynonna Judd 15/1
Lisa Vanderpump 20/1
Andy Dick 33/1

Also, and for fun, below are the odds from Wynn Las Vegas currently. I think these are really out of whack and I question if they even saw the first dances for how high they put Wynonna and how low they put Zendaya. 😯 Also, shouldn’t Victor and Wynonna be placed more at the end? D.L. should be placed last in my opinion.

KELLIE PICKLER Derek Hough 9 TO 2
ALY RAISMAN Mark Ballas 6 TO 1
JACOBY JONES Karina Smirnoff 7 TO 1
DOROTHY HAMILL Tristan MacManus 8 TO 1
ZENDAYA COLEMAN Valentin Chmerkovskiy 9 TO 1
VICTOR ORTIZ LINDSAY ARNOLD 11 TO 1
WYNONNA JUDD Tony Dovolani 14 TO 1
INGO RADEMACHER Kym Johnson 15 TO 1
SEAN LOWE Peta Murgatroyd 20 TO 1
D.L. HUGHLEY Cheryl Burke 25 TO 1
ANDY DICK Sharna Burgess 30 TO 1
LISA VANDERPUMP GLEB SAVCHENKO 35 TO 1

So, what do you make of this week’s interesting shake up in odds? Let’s see what Heidi and Court think too….

Heidi:  I think that the top set of odds has the first five eliminations right, and maybe even in the correct order, although I would be inclined to switch Wynonna and Victor. But after that it gets really tricky. I think someone they have in the top three is going to get bumped for Jacoby, although I’m not AS convinced as Courtney that he will win. I’m hedging. 🙂 By all rights, based on last week, those ladies should be the top 3 but I think that Aly will get bumped for Jacoby.  As for the middle of the pack? They feel pretty middle of the pack to me. Of course, everything could change in week 3 when they suddenly don’t have as much time to get a dance down. Since they appear to have changed Derek and Kellie’s dance on them well after they learned Jive, they could be in trouble as well. We’ll see! Oh, and as for Wynn…I seem to recall they got last season right at least in the final week – question is, did they have it right all season long? Your odds of calling the final right is pretty easy – you have a 3 in 1 shot at it.  This Wynn odds chart is just a mess. I don’t think they have a single thing right.

Courtney: Zendaya is good, no doubt, but we still have yet to see whether she whether she’ll be able to break the “Disney curse” – I’d say Roshon was just as talented as she was, and that poor kid was in the bottom two seemingly every week.  Haven’t seen anything from Aly yet that makes me think she’s gonna finish that high – and I still think Jacoby is the only shoo-in for the finale, and the most likely to win it all.  As for the bottom of the odds – I think Wynonna probably has a slight edge over Lisa, but other than that, I think they got it about right. Who the hell knows what’s going on at the Wynn – the fact that they think D.L. still has a fighting chance makes me think they’re smoking the wacky tobacky.  🙂

Pure Dancing With The Stars First Las Vegas Odds For Season 16

It’s that time again!!!! Are you ready for the first Las Vegas Odds for Dancing With The Stars 16? Keep in mind before you take a look that the odds makers are almost always wrong in their beginning wagers. Also keep in mind that the odds could get shaken up real soon with a heavily rumored additional 12th couple added to the cast.

So, what have we got? So far, Sports Bovada is forecasting Aly Raisman to win. Maybe this could happen and maybe not, but, I don’t think I would want to be placed first if I was Aly. I also don’t think Andy Dick is going home first. I think he’s going to pull a Nancy Grace and be around for a while. He also reminds me a little of Jerry Springer. I think people might get addicted to he and Sharna’s fun humor and charm especially if, on top of everything, he can dance. I’m kind of worried that it might be Lisa to go home first instead, but, I hope not because I’m already love loving Gleb. 😀 So, what do you think and look for Miss Heidi and Courtney thoughts after you take a look at these….

Aly Raisman 7/2
Kellie Pickler 5/1
Zendaya Coleman 5/1
Jacoby Jones 13/2
Ingo Rademacher 7/1
Victor Ortiz 15/2
Dorothy Hamill 9/1
D.L. Hughley 10/1
Wynonna Judd 15/1
Lisa Vanderpump 20/1
Andy Dick 33/1

Girls?

Courtney: I agree with Aly for the win, although I think her biggest competition will be Jacoby & Dorothy – so I’m a big puzzled that they aren’t higher.  I could also see Ingo going far and benefitting from the soap vote in much the same way Kelly did last season…especially if he & Kym have enough chemistry to incite some of the nuttier shippers 😛 I’m afraid that Lisa will be an early exit, but I’m actually worried that Victor might be the first to go – he & Lindsay just seem to be a little too wholesome & laid back, and I’m skeptical about his boxing fanbase being motivated to vote.  Zendaya? Wayyyy too high, even if she’s really good – Disney kids have generally not been able t0 make viewers really give a damn, even if they’re good dancers.  Just look at Roshon & Chelsea.  And really, Kellie in 2nd??? Just because she’s with Derek? No offense to Kellie fans, but she doesn’t exactly strike me as the sharpest (or most coordinated) tool in the shed.  I’m thinking she may follow more of the path of a Joanna or a Maria than a Shawn or a Ricki.  Interested to see where Sean & Peta fit in once they’re announced…I’m beginning to wonder if they’re going to be an early exit, just due to being a late addition.  That, and the fact that they seem to be a rather bland pairing.

Heidi: Considering that I don’t think the odds makers have EVER gotten it right in the first week, I’m going to say that once again they haven’t gotten it right. I like my odds. 🙂  Especially since we haven’t seen them dance. As for Kelly being number 2? I think she will finish in the top 4 or 5 – mainly because she has Derek and he has a record. Again, I think my odds are good. But number 2?? I dunno. There is a lot at play here. Pissed off fans that think he should have, by all yardsticks, have won last season, and the fact that he’s talking about “natural talent” and “hyper-entended legs” like he did with Brooke.  And Kellie herself tweeted that she doesn’t suck as much as she thought she would. All positive signs. But, as we all know, it’s not just about the individual dancers, but the people they are competing against. And I see some powerhouse talent in this cast and some potential fanbase ringers. I think Wynonna and Dorothy could be fanbase ringers, and I think Jacoby probably fits into that category as well.  Ingo? Maybe – but soaps are a dying breed for a reason. Zendaya is a ringer ringer – but she may suffer from the young Disney problem – that being that that age group doesn’t seem to vote.  We’ll have to wait and see if she gets the Chelsea Kane style propping up or not. As for Aly….I just don’t know. She may suffer terribly in comparison to Shawn without the benefit of a  few seasons between them. Can lightning strike twice?? I kinda doubt it.  Expectations are going to be extremely high in week 1 and if she doesn’t get on it right away, she could be in trouble. I doubt VERY much that she’ll get scored as hard as Shawn was, so there’s that. But she has a lot working against her, not the least of which is that this will be Mark’s third Olympian. Let that sink in people who complain about Derek – THIRD Olympian.  And all three are in the right voting demo for DWTS.   I think, all in all, they have the top four right – just maybe not in that order. Put Dorothy up in the top 5 and call it good.

Dancing With The Stars Las Vegas Odds Going Into The Finals – One Of Tightest Ever!

Going into the Dancing With The Stars All Star Finale is a tight one at that. The odds makers at Sports Bovada, have placed their final bets. It’s been an interesting season as they’ve seemed to nail who is going to finish ‘last’ every week. Then again, all season we’ve seen them placing Emmitt Smith at the top to win and well, as you know, he was eliminated last week. So, below are the odds as of right now for who will win the Dancing With The Stars All Stars. I’m in agreement with them this time. I think this is exactly how it will play out….

Shawn Johnson 1/3
Melissa Rycroft 4/1
Kelly Monaco 5/1

Last week’s Las Vegas Odds going into Week 7 to compare:

Shawn Johnson 4/7
Emmitt Smith 5/1
Kelly Monaco 15/2
Melissa Rycroft 15/2
Apolo Anton Ono 17/2

Be sure to let us know what you think and how you would place the couples. Let’s get Heidi and Court’s thoughts on the odds too:

Courtney: No arguments here – I still think it’s going to be Shawn’s to lose, with Melissa & Kelly a distant 2nd & 3rd.  I have a feeling Shawn & Melissa will end up pretty close in scores (and both will likely be near-perfect, unless Tony really whiffs this freestyle), and Kelly will likely trail by 3-5 points.  I’m fully expecting the judges to drop the hammer on Kelly, since I don’t think they were expecting her to last through last week’s elim.  When it comes down to the winner, though, I’m fine with either Melissa or Shawn winning  – although I think overall, Shawn & Derek have been the most creative, the best dancers, and the best entertainers this season.

Heidi: I agree that’s the order they SHOULD be in, but I don’t think it’s a slam dunk by any stretch of the imagination. And these odds guys with the 1/3 appear to think it is a slam dunk. If Melissa gets too far ahead in points – like, say, three – because of Shawn and Derek getting docked again for their quickstep, I think it’s a real horse race. I think Melissa could win this – but her routines will have to be spectacular, and by that I don’t mean all lifts. That said, I’m not convinced at all that the judges will dock Shawn and Derek for the quickstep again. They just don’t have a history of doing that. They didn’t for Mark and Chelsea and I’m sure there are others – probably all on Derek and Mark, since those two are the ones who take risks. They tend to loosen up on their own issues in the finale. Not to mention that I have this sneaking suspicion that Derek and Shawn had the quickstep picked FOR them, as did the others. In any case, Shawn and Derek suffer from the “sure thing” syndrome and I hope their fans realize this. Their biggest risk is that people don’t vote because they assume she’s going to win.  That’s the price of creating AMAZING dances all season long. Not to mention that the producers edits of the packages are going to go OVERBOARD on the sob stories of “Tony’s never won…” and “Melissa and Kelly are such underdogs…” blah blah blah. Unfortunately, that crap works on the average Joe.
