The Washington Post Discusses the DWTS Eliminations for Season 27

I guess I didn’t realize this was really noteworthy…and it seems the Washington Post author reads our blog.  🙂  Anyway, they mention a lot of the possible reasons that only women have been eliminated so far this season. All could be accurate – but adding to those theories, is my opinion that the lower total viewers equates to lower total voters. When that happens, the big fanbases (Bachelor Nation, Potter Nation (I hope)) have more power than they ordinarily would.  Anyway, I’ve put an excerpt below but click the link to read the whole article.

Season 27 of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” has been airing for six weeks. And so far, only female contestants have been sent home.

First, comedian Nikki Glaser. Then Paralympic skier Danelle Umstead. Then actress Nancy McKeon. Then R&B singer Tinashe. Last week, Olympic gymnast Mary Lou Retton said goodbye.

While Bachelor Nation might be burning up the DWTS phone lines, the show is skewed toward older viewers — which could explain the votes for Schneider, one of the stars of the 1980s comedy “The Dukes of Hazzard.” Ware, who started off strong, has that big Dallas Cowboys fandom. And athletes, especially football players, are known to go quite far on this show.

Bones has also been ranked consistently in the middle or the lower end of the scoreboard. But he hosts a radio show broadcast to millions every day and has a legion of fiercely loyal fans. He could also easily win the award for most improved dancer, and the show always loves an underdog.

I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)

DWTS14 Possibility: Legendary Dallas Quarterback Troy Aikman To Dance On Dancing With The Stars?

Ok, before you read this, take note that I am grasping at straws here. As some of you have noticed at twitter, Peta Murgatroyd flew to Dallas and she’s “very excited” and “happy” much like she was last season at this time. Could she be meeting her new partner on Dancing With The Stars? Sally, one of our readers reminded us of the Troy Aikman rumor in a previous season (Season 11 to be exact). In case you don’t know, Troy Aikman is a former “legendary” quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys and as you can see in the video below from TMZ (which was posted on July 29, 2010), Troy remarked he was going to do Dancing With The Stars “next year“. Makes you wonder, doesn’t it?

So, what do you think? Does this possibility have a leg to stand on and could Troy be Peta’s new partner (if it’s true she’s dancing)? I think they would make a striking and perfect couple and I bet he would be a good dancer too. Also, this is a huge A-lister imo!! Way to go to TPTB if this comes true. You are going to make a fan out of my husband yet.

The next Dallas Cowboy on DWTS??

This has no basis in reality. I just found it and thought it was hilarious.
